Overall, another great issue, though I do have few bones to pick with it.
Things I liked:
- Megalon!

- Gigan and SG are on the scene. I'm glad they resisted the urge to go with the GFW version of Gigan and stick with the classic Showa version instead. Looking forward to see them let loose to wreck havoc in issue #3 alongside Megalon.

- Again, Frank Tiere is far superior than most G authors (be it IDW, Marvel, or the DC/MV snoozefest) with writing interesting, engaging characters: One-eyed Henry Hull, Francis Walsingham, Blanco (HTBD) Mortimer Lane, Thomas Jefferson, Aaron Burr (SOG), and now Bob Jones, Dr. Kyoto, and Director Stone in HTBA. In contrast, I couldn't tell you the name of a single character in the majority of post-2020 comics if you held a gun to my head.
- Interesting little twist that the "Grendel" version of Hedorah from SOG was defective and rebelled against the evil Hedorah probes. While I still think the "Hero* role does not suit Hedorah at all, it does make it somewhat more palpable.

- Again, I am a history buff, and working in the assassinations of Lincoln and Arch Duke Ferdinand as the slow downfall of the Sons of Giants was such a great touch (though adding Bugsy Siegel as a SOG member???? lol

Things I didn't like:
- Artwork by Angel Hernandez is still solid overall....however, this is the first issue where I started to miss Inaki Miranda and feel the gap between the two is slowly becoming much more noticeable than in issue #1 (though definitely no where near the drop off between Freddie Williams II and Rivas in GvsMMPR2). Jet Jaguar and MechaGodzilla in particular look "off" at times.

- Still not a fan of the "Hedorah probes* being just tiny "Adult/Final stage"versions of him. Making the probes the Aquatic or Landing stages of Hedorah for this role would have been much more appropriate. It just feels like Hedorah is being shoe-horned into a "Destoroyah Aggregate stage / Soldier Legion/ Meganulon" type role, and it just doesn't work. Also strange is how the Hedorah probes at times are the same size as humans, only to suddenly and randomly appear in his normal final/adult stage size and scale when fighting Jet Jaguar. As with SOG, the handling of Hedorah's role over the course of the HTBD saga is one of the few things I haven't been too crazy about.
- Godzilla is no where to be found. Though the story is obviously engaging and building up to him, it would have been nice to see him burst on the scene by now.
I wish this series could continue as the main IDW ongoing. Once it ends, I am concerned that IDW is going to mainly focus on whatever the hell these "Kai-Sei" comics are suppose to be at the expense of good minis like this. I'd love to see another follow-up to this saga beyond HTBA...
