You and I have butted heads numerous times...however I absolutely agree with you on this. We all have our likes, dislikes and opinions on the franchise and they are ours like it or not. We have been in a Godzilla boon for over 10 years now, one that has brought it to heights of popularity never seen before and most likely is on the back side of it's zenith. I'm happy to experience it being a lifelong fan and look forward to the different incarnations and approaches the future holds for the franchise.Legion1979 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 29, 2025 1:19 pm I'll be 50 in just 4 years. I got into Godzilla when I was 6.
At this point I couldnt give a rat's ass what the general public thinks of this character. I enjoy tokusatsu movies on my terms, as anyone else should. Worrying about what people you've never met think of Godzilla seems so pointless. Godzilla has hung on for 70 years. He'll be fine no matter what movies they make.
Some will be great, good, OK, bad...but Godzilla will march on. There is something for everybody.
As for the IP, I think debating it's ramifications is pointless right now, but I hope I live long enough to see Star Wars come to earth and have to deal with Godzilla....There I said it. Maybe the USS Enterprise returns to earth after communications are cut and they find Godzilla and friends have destroyed everything and they witness Godzilla playing basketball against a Mecha Barkley...
