Manga Gaea-Tima The Gigantis

Post by daveblackeye15 »

The first volume of this just released a few week ago in English. I hope to see more people talking about it. Gaea-Tima, a giant monster appeared in a town ten years ago causing a huge flood. In the present the monster is something of a tourist attraction for the town since then but our lead Miyoko has mixed feelings about the monster and the prosperity he brought, it did cause a disaster of course. We get a second monster suddenly appearing, Gaea-Tima returning out of the blue for a bit of kaiju action...then the end of the second episode turns everything on its ear...and I love the manga for it suddenly.

So I'm certainly eager to read more Gaea-Tima. Have to thank Matt Frank for bringing this to attention on his FB.

I’ve had volumes 1+2+3 for months now and read them in Japanese. It’s good. I do wonder though how I’ll feel about it moving forward considering we have a normal Godzilla manga coming out biweekly.

Credit where credit is due: Jomei tipped me off to this about a year ago.

Started reading it last year, and yeah, it's very cool. Love the art and kaiju designs.

Plus, the inclusion of vinyl kaiju figures is a neat otaku nod:

I'll have to pick up some of the English volumes.

Look I'm here for the kaiju action........and tall woman Michiru! Good, others have read it...The moment I'm talking about is
Spoiler:
Gaea-Tima miniaturized and stuck in the washing machine..this dramatic kaiju manga just took a bizarre turn and I was hooked. Then him chasing after Miyoko.
If this ever gets an anime adaption I'm like 'pst I'm most excited for THAT scene not the dramatic kaiju action!
