What Warner Bros monsters do you think would fit in well within the MonsterVerse?
Since the MonsterVerse films are distributed by Warner Bros, what monster movies that they produced in the past do you think could work in the MV? Such as the Rhedosaurus from Beast From 20,000 Fathoms, the Ants from Them!, and the titular black scorpions from The Black Scorpions.

Still the best, 1958...

A kaiju-fied Gwangi who could serve as a Gorosaurus stand-in.

If you asked this question maybe prior to Godzilla vs Kong, I’d be inclined to think this was still a possibility. However, I don’t see them including anything outside of Kong and Godzilla stuff for the foreseeable future. My main reasoning being that instead of rehashing older IPs, then they can just make their own distinctive creations.
That being said, there was that THEM! remake, which I don’t think has had an update. I think that’s the last chance for this sort of thing to happen. I’d hope that if they make that, while they could loosely connect it to the MV, it would be better to keep it “stand-alone”. Have a story about giant ants nearly taking over the desert, but don’t force it into a situation where they have to do something dumb like fight Kong.
And listen, it’s been a long time since I’ve heard the name Gwangi. I thought it would remain that way.

Maybe throw in the monsters from Rampage, or even the Primal Rage video game.

As ridiculous as it sounds, I think the modern MV is “above” all of this, and it’s probably why legendary isn’t doing any of this. The MV, despite different tones, has done a good job at establishing its own identity, and I feel like any potential crossovers or inclusions would lessen that originality.John Pannozzi wrote: ↑Tue Jul 08, 2025 2:35 am Maybe throw in the monsters from Rampage, or even the Primal Rage video game.

At the very least I think homage Titans would be nice, a massive black scorpion with a distinct face, a Rhedosaur stand-in, some giant black ants.

Remember that in KSI the bird calls were actually made by big ants. However, since Kong has changed his address, I don't see the ants coming into play.
The problem with doing nothing is that you never know when you're finished.

I feel like that was just a joke that a board game took seriously. Ants would be a good villain for Kong though to spice things up.edgaguirus wrote: ↑Tue Jul 08, 2025 12:49 pm Remember that in KSI the bird calls were actually made by big ants. Rhedosaurus would be perfect for MV.

Tabletop Roleplaying Game, to be precise.LSD Jellyfish wrote: ↑Tue Jul 08, 2025 3:24 pmI feel like that was just a joke that a board game took seriously. And yes, the singing ants were just an adlib by John C. Reilly to mess with his costars, but Evil Genius Games ran with the concept and gave us the Snarehunters. Interestingly, the published adventure of the TTRPG features an epic battle between Kong and an entire colony of the things, headed up by a giant, flying queen. So, the concept is tried and true.

I see. Kong versus a colony of ants sounds just the kind of thing the MV might do, so they could be down there.

It might not be Warner Brothers but Guilala would be hysterical. He's got cool abilities and Guilala attacks the G8 summit is one of the funniest movies ever

I don't think the MV will ever touch Guilala. The kaiju is a powerful, but both films have a cheese factor that is hard to ignore.
On topic, the Rhedosaurus and Black Scorpion are the best contenders. The fact the scorpions can only be killed with a throat wound makes them tough creatures to beat.
