Bandai has also announce the start of the new Movie Monster Giga Figure line of figures in the 8 inch scale!

-Bandai movie monster burning godzilla 2019 $31.99 November 2025 release.

-Bandai movie monster mechagodzilla heavy arms Tokyo S.O.S. 2.0 $31.99 January 2026 release.

-Bandai movie monster mothra larva twin set $29.99 November 2025 release.

-Bandai Giga Movie Monster Destroyah $74.99 November 2025 release.

-Bandai movie monster godzilla 2004 Dynamite $33.99 February 2026 release
...I dont think I'll be ordering any of this. Im sure people will be thrilled about the $75 8" Destoryer, but everything else is really meh. What was I saying about them being really safe lately?

Those are our retail figures until winter of next year, guys. Kinda lame.
It’s not an exciting of a release to me either. That said, the Mothra Larva pairs at $29.99, might possibly suggest an “in scale” figure release. Something larger would probably cost more, I suppose. Also, that’s assuming it’s the Tokyo SOS version.

I can definitely go for that if that were the case.

The 2004 G, is probably my least favorite post-Heisei design. But if it’s a total retool and sculpted with its legs not as far apart as the previous two releases, I may pull the trigger on that one.

I already own the original standard 8” release Destroyah. It makes me wonder if it’s a retool. Still, I’m glad the next generation of collectors will have an opportunity to obtain one.

If the Giga MMS releases a Biollante and it’s closer in scale to the 6” line, I’m all in on that; the same goes for Ghiddy.

One can only hope.

Bandai already has a 6" 2003 larva ready to go. They released one back in 2018.

So there's a lot of mold reuse/retooling happening in the coming months.
Probably, yes. And I didn't even think of that oversized 2003 larva from 2018, it completely crawled off my mind. Maybe because it was such a weird and kinda 'standalone' release without its better half. The original 2003 8" Mothra Larva twins are unreachable, anyway. Those were works of art.

However, I still hope that larvae set will be new and in-scale molds, hence the set price. If we're very lucky it maybe will be a '64 larvae set... who knows...? BANDAI did 2-sets of smaller Ultra Monsters lately as well, like those Sphere Soldiers from Ultraman Decker or the recent Bugsects from Omega. Could work well within the MMS, too.

I wish we had product images to know whether we could make that guess.

At first I heard of the size, I thought more on par with Bangaichi, but the pricing on the whole is too low in comparison, so one would assume it cannot be of that quality, but who knows when looking at the Destoroyah pricing.

I wish we had some images. It would help to know whether it's worth PO'ing anything at this stage.

Beast From the East included a photo of the twin 2003 larvae on their post, so perhaps they know more than we do.

8 inch Destroyah? And for less than a 100 bucks? I'm intrigued.

That Destoroyah does sound exciting. If its a genuinely good figure Im probably going to go for it, regardless of price. Im also for sure getting the Jirass. I saw people a few pages back talking about a Godzilla 1989. Im out of the loop. Is this just speculation or was this confirmed? I was just talking to someone the other day about how weird it is that, despite being arguably the most popular Godzilla suit of all time (and my personal favorite), Bandai has never done a standard Godzilla 89.

I recently picked up the Burning Godzilla at G Fest. Its a great release. I was shocked that its a new sculpt, because it didn't really need to be: given Burning Godzilla is a retool of 94 to begin with and we just got a new 94. The fact that they chose not to reuse that sculpt makes me wonder if they will do the same with 89. Because 89 is arguably more different from 91 then 94 is from 95.

Showcase Collectibles has G ‘89 and Mecha KG up for preorders. For now, they have stock photos for the figures. But given their standard practice once actual photos become available, I’m sure they’ll go up and people will begin preordering, myself included.

I’m hedging my bets that G’89 will be a new sculpt. As mentioned previously, it’s quite distinct from all the consequential releases. At minimum, they would have to retool the head in any case to make it distinct enough for people to buy it.

Since ‘89 G is coming out, can a Biollante ver 2 be far off? One that’s in better scale even if it comes out as a (please forgive me guys) a Premium Bandai figure?

I can hear you guys booing me at the mere mention of PB. But I’d rather have that than another mini Biollante that’s more in scale with Candy Toy figures.

I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility since already there have been some V.2 releases of previous figures.

Just some food for thought with the TK crowd. 😉👌

I would assume that MMS Giga will be the ideal spot for larger characters, given that they are starting with Destoroyah!

I’m excited that they’re bringing back the 8” line. I’m not excited that they’re gonna cost $75 a piece.

But I would fully expect “larger” characters like Biollante and Hedorah to follow Destoroyah. I’d definitely hope we get a Godzilla in that scale (c’mon Bandai, give us an 8” Godzilla ‘67!) but as much as I can dream it’d probably be one of the “safer” versions.

Aight, if Bandai can do a snake design that actually looks good, they’ve got no excuse with Manda haha

Are we kidding? When they did Shenron, they had no excuse not to do a SHMA Manda!

This is Mu-centric discrimination, I tells ya.

I stopped buying most of the Ultraman BANDAI vinyls some time back due to them becoming too many at rising' prices while size and quality keep dropping. But those colorful versions look very tempting...

Someone let me know if I missed anything but I made a list of all the retail MMS figures starting at the beginning of this year and going into early 2026...

Godzilla Minus One - Dynamic version
Dancing Godzilla 1965
Godzilla Millennium 2.0
Godzilla 1971
Burning Godzilla 2.0
Destroyer 2.0
Heavy Arms Kiryu 2002 2.0
Flying Godzilla 1971
Mecha King Ghidorah 2.0
Godzilla 1989
Burning Godzilla 2019
Mothra larva twins
Giga 8" Destroyer
Heavy Arms Kiryu 2003 2.0
Godzilla 2004 "Dynamite" version

So basically...
9 Godzillas
2 Destroyers
2 Kirys
Mothra larva pair
Mecha King Ghidorah

While a few of the already released items are really cool, this is still a ridiculously safe, underwhelming list. Even the Godzilla Store offerings have been limited to repaints aside from the Aggregate Destroyer, which oddly never made it to the US Store. The line is clearly not going anywhere and we're still getting plenty of stuff, but Bandai really appears be backpedaling a lot, especially compared to the volume and variety of two years ago. Im hoping the underwhelming Fall/Winter slate of retail toys is indicative of the surprises we might get from the G Store around Godzilla Day.
