What are those exactly? 'Super Kaiju' versions...?

Size DOES matter!

Re: Super7 Godzilla General Discussion
~4.5" versions of the figures that come with a broken building piece so you can make destructible buildings the more you collect. Articulation is pretty basic. From discussions online, most collectors think they're alright but too expensive. They seem to do well at Target (where they are exclusively) given that they did a re-issue of Wave 1 recently.

^Also, nostalgia may play a factor as some fans have been comparing them to the Trendmasters Godzilla toys from the mid-1990's.

Re: Super7 Godzilla General Discussion
I think a lot of this is coming from people who are simply desperate for an affordable Trendmasters equivalent more than anything. The Trendmasters stuff was really of its time and nothing really compares to them (not even the more gimmicky “Godzilla vs Kong” stuff on the market). But they’ve grown in popularity and I think a lot of newer collectors want in on the action in some way.
Short of finding out how to produce a line of toys in the Trendmasters style, if not just outright reissuing them, I do think there is opportunity there. But I highly doubt Super7 would be the one to do it- they’re stuck in the 70s.

Re: Super7 Godzilla General Discussion
I don't immediately jump to the Trendmasters comparison when I see or handle Super Kaiju, nor the comparable Bandai line, but for some of the "fun" stylistic choices Super7 likes to go for vs. Bandai. If they start offering sets like Trendmasters did, that would be a different story.
I still have to agree that a $35 MSRP is seen as a barrier to full adoption by many, but, given they are exclusive to a big box retailer that offers sales, coupons, and promos on such a regular basis that buying anything is usually less than MSRP, it actually doesn't hold true, and regular Target customers know this better.
What is the sticking point for me, as I've said long ago, and very recently, is availability, and how Target determines what is to be carried in what size store. The main roadblock, aside from a radically changing budget, is finding the damned things before someone else steals them; much less sells them.

Re: Super7 Godzilla General Discussion
I dunno man, that $35 tag is definitely what kills it for me. Even if there's cool discounts, it just seems a bit crazy when you can buy a random NECA for the same price, which comes in a display box, tons of accessories, etc. Especially when the Bandai Action Figures are the same scale, with more articulation, and I'd even say the sculpts have balanced out as their line's gone on. I'll say Super7's Minus One looks better than the Bandai, but not for like $10+ more - and their Heiseis look pretty much exactly the same, far as these things go. Plus, again, the Bandais have more effective articulation anyway, which is sort of the whole point IMO. Maybe if they weren't doing the exact same stuff as Bandai's line I'd feel a little different, but as of now it's just a more expensive, less good alternative
Personally I've noticed almost none of these S7 action figures have moved from my local Targets, and all of the Bandais are totally wiped out. It feels like they want to be seen as a NECA type in the Godzilla space but there is zero "bang for your buck" beyond the little buildings. And I do like how creative S7 gets, too. Stuff like Dark Horse Godzilla is unique, do more original ideas and maybe I'd see past the issues

Re: Super7 Godzilla General Discussion
Well, as Brian says, this is Target's show. S7 agreed to make something for them after they balked at Ultimates, but wanted more than ReActions. I wouldn't lay much of this at S7's feet under the circumstances. If anything, I love the wiggle room S7 has had to inject styles like TFB into it. What's more, them maybe doing SpaceG, and in TM "Poster" color as well, would probably draw more folks to the line. I'm sure this line is less risky to play with, as is ReAction, versus Ultimates in which the wrong decision may drive stock to Ollie's at best.
Still, keep in mind the price, which is not usually $35 to a savvy Target shopper, is inclusive of that building piece. Me, I can live without that, but it's definitely factored into the price, and the S7 box is bigger to include the whole figure; not like Bandai, who has parted out their figure to take up less space in a smaller box and requires assembly the S7 doesn't.
I'm not saying all that justifies $35 (I'm still feeling $25, which it often is in practice, if not better), but it is technically more being offered than Bandai's range; even if Bandai has upped their game on recent waves compared to the rushed-to-market embarrassment their Wave 1 was.

Re: Super7 Godzilla General Discussion
Frankly, I'm still nauseous.
After I posted the, now irrelevant, BoxLunch sale, Super7 found copies of almost EVERY. DAMNED. RARE. Godzilla item they've EVER had, and put them up.
No, I didn't get the glowie KG ReAction I'd been after for MSRP, but I got it in my cart and had payment sorted when I got jacked, though and the scars to prove it.
I'm glad those LEGITIMATE NON-SCALPER folks that got their '62 glowie, Thirsty For Blood, Minus Color, or Charging Minus Ultimates, but that KG was mine, goddammit.

Re: Super7 Godzilla General Discussion
Man that's terrible. I'm so sorry. Hindsight in things like this is just crazy I got the KG & Hedorah ReAction glow's the day they were available. Almost 2 years ago now, just after SDCC in 2023. What's crazy is that when the first Box Lunch Shogun Glow came out about a month later, In August 2023, and I went to pick it up; they had a couple KG & Hedorah glows in stock at the store, and I thought nothing of it because I already had them. I had no idea how much they would be sought after 2 years later. I don't think anyone did.Gojirasaur wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 11:40 am I'm glad those LEGITIMATE NON-SCALPER folks that got their '62 glowie, Thirsty For Blood, Minus Color, or Charging Minus Ultimates, but that KG was mine, goddammit.
I understand though how bad it feels to have a hole like that in your collection. There's still one Transformer I want (to complete a Combiner collection) that will probably be forever out of my price range. I've seen a couple other "rare" ReActions pop up for reasonable prices. Most notably the very first SDCC Shogun in box, usually goes for around $80-$100, I've seen a couple of them listed "Buy it now" for only $30. Either they didn't know what they have , or don't care. It happens sometimes. I hope you can get the KG Glow for a reasonable price at some point.

Well, while trying to plow through, I see many of the BL items I posted are now in a B2G1 Free sale now, in case anyone was still looking for a deal on them.

Re: Super7 Godzilla General Discussion
Greetings all,
I was wondering if anyone was familiar with the website coleka.com ? It is a French website (but also translates to English), that has a huge database of toys etc. In my search to find a comprehensive site that has images of all S7 ReAction products, this one seems to be the closest, even more so than S7 own “Collector Checklist” which hasn’t been updated since the end of last year, and Wikizilla has many omissions.
I’ve figured out how to submit my own entries once registered, but their review process seems odd. It took me a few tries to enter certain products like the 1956 poster Godzilla because they claimed it was the same as the 54 toy on card, until I showed them the specific differences. Same for the Glow Skeleton Godzilla vs the regular skeleton.
Many products were added before I started, but now I am at an impasse. I have successfully referenced all the individual Godzilla series ReActions so far, but the blind boxes (after series 4) keep getting rejected for some reason. I added the first 4 fine months ago, but I’ve tried numerous times to add series 5-9, sighting numerous photos, linking straight to S7 page etc.…and nothing works, they keep getting rejected. I just wanted to see if anyone knew more about their process. Thank you.
A current search will get you 91 results which is all the individual figures and the first 4 blind box sets

The way I see it if I'm gonna spend $35 I might as well spend $50 on a Hiya fig.Mechagigan wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 12:12 pm I dunno man, that $35 tag is definitely what kills it for me.
