The second chapter's been confirmed for the 10th. Looks like Galaxy Odyssey's going bi-weekly.
Back from the dead and... not really making the most of it, honestly.

Re: Godzilla Galaxy Odyssey, new manga coming May 27th
I’ve purchased and read issue 2. While I need to give it a closer look, it’s mostly a continuation of issue 2. More military action and the beginning of Godzilla vs Volga.
I’ll provide more info later.
Edit something spoilerly, that’s easy to miss, another monster!
Okay so here’s what happens in chapter 2:
Godzilla appears and makes landfall. The characters react surprised that it’s been 8 years since he’s appeared, and there’s speculation that he’s there to defend his territory. Thanks to the main girl, it’s decided to guide/let Godzilla fight Volga, although it still seems they’re preparing defenses against Godzilla.
Volga’s rampage and fight against the defense force continues. Because of its ability, they can’t lock on to Volga. Instead a risky strategy is used where one jet locks onto the lead’s jet, and he dodges it so it collides with Volga. Volga is completely unfazed, and everyone is shocked because the missile blew another monster to smithereens a while back.
Volga is about to kill a bunch of civilians when Godzilla finally joins the fray. Godzilla rips off Volga’s left arm (the one without the hook) and scratches Godzilla. At near point blank, Volga fires a beam at Godzilla, and it literally bounces off him. Godzilla in this comic is strong!
Volga tries to retreat. In a tense moment, right as it seems that Godzilla has a clear victory, Volga turns around and it’s right scythe arm swings down on Godzilla. The issue ends with the two locked in battle (presumably to continue in the next issue). As it does, the main girl notices something controlling(?)/behind(?) Volga, allowing its strange movements to be indicative of being controlled by aliens or something.
Overall issue 2 was shorter than issue 1. I’m a bit disappointed that most of the issue was a continuation of Volga vs the military, but I still feel the monster action we got was good. Likewise, I appreciate this kind of slow pace, we’re two issues in and actually no galactic Odessy has begun. Guess we are still in the opening arc of “Godzilla vs Volga”.
A certain monster in the issue definitely makes it very likely that other Toho critters, like Dogora will appear.
I’ll provide more info later.

Read the issue and it was good. There’s already a fan sub out there if you know where to look. I really appreciate how they’re setting up this Godzilla to be very powerful with how he took Volga’s attacks and damaged Volga despite the military doing no damage.
I’m guessing that Volga might be a red herring for what’s to come. For the damage Godzilla caused right away it seems like they might either go the route of a lot of Volgas or other kaiju coming in to fight.

I assume that Volga will still have a few tricks up its sleeve, but yes, it’s pretty clear Volga is an inciting incident, and not going to be the main big bad. I could see there being multiple Volga, or it transforming as well.

If anyone interested, here's a translation of the Manga's first chapter or so.

I was told they're also doing the rest of them. I... also was unaware that the manga is being published in an adult magazine...? Anybody in Japan want to give details on what exactly is inside the magazine?

Kinda disappointed that Volga shows up and Godzilla almost immediately starts ripping him limb from limb. I was expecting him to put up a better fight. Oh well.LSD Jellyfish wrote: ↑Tue Jun 10, 2025 3:45 am I’ve purchased and read issue 2. While I need to give it a closer look, it’s mostly a continuation of issue 2. I imported the first one and I’m waiting on the next one. It’s just some pages of idols in bikinis. Most of the magazine is different mangas. Some have nudity so it is for adults but not particularly pornographic.Mac Daddy MM wrote: ↑Sat Jun 14, 2025 9:36 am

No, it’s not an adult magazine. It’s published in a biweekly manga anthology aimed at adults. When I say adults, I don’t mean it’s inherently pornographic, it just means that the subject matter of the manga inside tends to be about more mature subject matters.Mac Daddy MM wrote: ↑Sat Jun 14, 2025 9:36 am

There’s generally two types of manga magazines in Japan:
Shonen (this is where your Naruto is)
And Seinen (this is where Godzilla is).
Despite a lot of boobs and sex in some of the comics, it’s not explicit. There’s a few high quality pages of the same woman posing, but nothing beyond that.
It was funny at first, and I made the jokes too, but let’s stop talking about this in particular. It’ll get tiring if each issue we discuss the various buxom women on the covers.
Added in 48 minutes 4 seconds:
I’d wait until the next issue before making any judgements. Yes Volga has its arm torn off and Godzilla is powerful. But, the issue ends on a cliffhanger, with Volga appearing to possibly be readying to cut Godzilla in two. I’m sure the monster has something else up its sleeve as well.

Decent issue, mainly just Godzilla vs Volga. Fight is exciting with some twists, and I’m looking forward to the next issue.

Nothing official but there's naturally a couple of scanlation projects for it. Not sure I'm allowed to link them but they should be pretty easy to track down.

Re: Godzilla Galaxy Odyssey, new manga coming May 27th
Chapter Four was cool, basically a conclusion to the opening arc. However, not much happened beyond that.
Issue was short, but cool. However, I really do suspect we will get an anime adaptation of this. So much of this particular issue would be great animated, and I do think some bits of it could be expanded upon.

Re: Godzilla Galaxy Odyssey, new manga coming May 27th
Issue 5 was okay. Just seems to be a long exposition chapter, which makes sense after a fast paced introduction. The new ship looks cool!
Seems like we have the names of our antagonist aliens too,
Hmmm? Will this be a new species, or an alternate take on an old classic?
Also, the plan to send Godzilla space still isn’t clear, but the Goten is massive. Ships that are 1000m big are peanuts compared to it. Maybe that’s the size of an island? In any case, should be able to hold Godzilla.
