Unlike collections of old IP games like TMNT or The Disney Afternoon, most of them (if not all of them) aren't very good or have much replay value. I can see a collection of these things getting positively slammed by game reviewers.
It's the same situation as the Simpsons. God, most of those early games suuuuck.

There were at least a small handful of gems among the older Godzilla games. Monster King Godzilla for the Game Boy, the two Alpha System Godzilla fighting games, and the Game Gear Godzilla game come to mind. Wouldn't mind seeing them brought to modern platforms one day.Legion1979 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 19, 2022 3:40 amUnlike collections of old IP games like TMNT or The Disney Afternoon, most of them (if not all of them) aren't very good or have much replay value. I honestly think that we should at least wait until the release of the PS6 to get another proper Godzilla 3D brawler. That way, the developers can have mote time to invest in the new console’s capabilities. I know there’s Gigabash, but that doesn’t really count.

I am starting to wonder how a Godzilla game in the vein of classic Lego games would work. Solve puzzles in the human plot, fight monsters during boss battles.

according to Bloomberg "According to the mid-term business plan announced on the 14th, the company plans to invest about 70 billion yen in content development, including movies, animation, and mobile games. As part of its "Godzilla strategy," the company will invest 15 billion yen to expand Godzilla into home video games, merchandise, and attractions, and to proceed with a sequel to the Academy Award-winning "Godzilla -1.0."

I hope they make more Pipeworks-style brawlers as well. Could they be on the horizon as well?LSD Jellyfish wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 1:20 pmMore and more Voxel Wars incoming!zukzilla wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 12:40 pm according to Bloomberg "According to the mid-term business plan announced on the 14th, the company plans to invest about 70 billion yen in content development, including movies, animation, and mobile games. Re: Idea Thread: Toho Video Games 3.0
I always had the idea of a somewhat free-range open world Godzilla game set in the greater Toho world where you start as a rookie G-Force agent or scientist and you go up in rank working in the field investigating weird Ultra Q esq. happenings like Meganulon coal mine infestations, Matango outbreaks, and defendinf against the occasional kaiju attack.
I imagine missions where you operate a Maser tank or sail to and explore uncharted islands, navigating your way through Oodaku/Gaira, Ebirah, or even Mu Empire attacks. Eventually you could work your way to piloting the Super-Xs, Gotengos, and various Mecha from across the franchise to aid in your kaiju battles. You'd have missions where you have to recover diamonds to repair your your Super-X 2's Fire Mirror or Super Mechagodzilla's shielding, etc.
Of course it's not the typical kaiju brawler that most fans want but instead something that celebrates the larger world of Toho's sci-fi pantheon so I doubt it'd be something everyone would want but I feel it'd be a nice change of pace.

A Godzilla beat-em up game in the same vein as the X-Men arcade game or TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge.
The plot would ultimately be about Godzilla and co. trying to stop the Xilliens from invading with their army of monsters.
