Re: Godzilla vs the Justice League
Not the most exciting issue but definitely not bad. I definitely would say this first issue was perfectly “fine.” It’s definitely setting up stuff in the future and while short, I liked the Godzilla and King Shark fight. I don’t know how I feel about the story yet, but there’s six more issues to develop that.

Issue #4 covers and solicitation

Sounds riveting....

Releases Sep 3, 2025
Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong 2 #4
It's the rematch you've all been waiting for: Godzilla versus Superman! With the Man of Steel not at full power, can he stand up to the might of the King of the Monsters? Meanwhile, Leland Shaw and Lex Luthor continue their evil plans to mine DNA from the creatures of Hollow Earth.
Sounds riveting....

Happy to see the iconic Drown Viper make a return
With solicitations like these, they’re often misleading or purposefully provide outdated info. Let’s see. But a rematch between a weakened Superman and Godzilla sounds boring…considering the first series already had two fights at full power.

Re: Godzilla vs the Justice League
I actually am kind of intrigued by the possibilities of weakened Supes vs. Godzilla. As mentioned, we've had them fight at full power, so this is a chance to change it up. How much weaker is Clark? What will be the circumstances that prevent him from simply retreating from his more powerful foe? Can he still stand up to Godzilla at all, or will he need to adopt more evasive tactics?
I'm not saying I have a lot of faith that it's going to be a different kind of fight, but the possibilities are there!

Re: Godzilla vs the Justice League
New issue was fine. No Godzilla but we do get Kong fighting. It still seems like it’s building up despite a major character going down (that you could see coming miles away).
We did get Titans/megafauna I wasn’t expecting though. I feel like this needs to start hurrying up though so we can get all the Titans to have their fair share of pages.

Yeah, I was definitely not expecting what showed up at the end of the issue to actually show up. Thought it would be something else.
Enjoyed the issue overall though. I imagine it’s going to kick into third gear next issue. It is interesting that one Titan hasn’t shown up in any way just yet though.

I thought issue 2 was fine too. Less chaotic than I thought it would be.
I was glad it focused on Kong and gave him a “W”. It seems like Kong will be more of a focus here. One of my big issues with the first series is that Kong felt like a really vestigial part of the story who only showed up for the climax.

It’s possible that the apes will show up without Skar King, or Skar King without Shimo. I actually don’t know which way or how this’ll go, which I guess is okay. I’m kinda hoping/wondering if Gorilla Grodd will join in here.
I will say two issues in, I think I have a better understanding of what this comic is: DC in the MV. While that sounds obvious, the first time around it was MV monsters dropping in on a pre-established DC universe.
Here, is like “well what if we sent all the heroes and villains to the Hollow Earth?”. Instead of taking time to show Atlantis, or Metropolis, we’ll focus on Hollow Earth. Fine, that’s cool, and it’s pretty obvious that the next few issues will be the DC characters enduring various MV threats, maybe with the help of Kong.

I have a feeling Shimo will show up so they can do a fight between her and Ghidorah. I also think Skar King will try and control Ghidorah (as will Shaw for different reasons).LSD Jellyfish wrote: ↑Thu Jul 03, 2025 12:26 am It’s possible that the apes will show up without Skar King, or Skar King without Shimo. Does make me wonder if Suko will show up as well, or will they actually do Godzilla Evolved as well.

Re: Godzilla vs the Justice League
Read the issue and liked it. Seems my suspicions about Superman and Kara were correct as they've definitely been weakened from the last issue. The Kong vs Killer Croc fight was okay though I wished Kong struggled a bit more with him since Croc is a professional wrestler. However, given a side effect of this growth transformation is limited brain function I guess that's expected. Surprised that Giganta showed up since I don't recall seeing her at all in the previous issue but it was a pleasant one. Now I hope we can finally get her to fight either Godzilla or Kong. Hell they can make Cheetah big and have them both tag team one of them them before getting their asses kicked. More and more it's obvious a certain character is gonna bite the bullet which feels like it happens too often with him but whatever. The ending was a surprise and it may tease that this second crossover series might end up being much BIGGER than we all originally thought. No pun intended.
A monster? A king? A god? Or is Godzilla all three?
