Following up on this as it looks like Megatron is available for preorder on HobbyLink. No idea about BBTS.

I’m contemplating if I want to preorder this one or not. I’d love to see Missing Link update the OG toy but it’s looking unlikely due to its controversial gun mode. As far as anime accuracy goes this upcoming SS86 one looks really spot-on.

Takara revealed it early, so expect Hasbro preorders potentially this week.

Wow, yeah; looks like preorders and a video review are all set to drop tomorrow.

I wonder if we’ll get a chrome/shiny version later down the line.

SS86 Megatron, the final 2 Constructicons, and the Grimlock reissue are all up for preorder.

Added in 1 hour 52 minutes 4 seconds:
Seems there's also talk of expanding the 86 line to cover all season 1 and 2 characters of the original series.

The SS 86 stuff has been cooking. Megatron looks great but the Grimlock is also very solid. People have been waiting for a toon-accurate reissue for awhile, although the variants have all been really good.

I just got a deal on the Beast Wars Megatron reissue, as it was around 50% off its original market price. I owned the metallic one that came later but not the original. Also had Rampage, who could use a reissue as well.

Already preordered Megatron and Grimlock. At last my Dinobots will finally be complete. Unfortunately the original Grimlock came out before I decided to start collecting the line so I was too late to grab him.

Yeah Grimlock was super early. I started with Snarl and then got the G2 yellow Grimlock (apparently there is a blue one out now as well) but I know a lot of people wanted the toon version. I guess it’s a double edged sword to coming in late as sometimes you have to wait for things to be reissued but other times you’re just in time for a new release or something that was awesome a year ago to be available to you at hyper clearance (how I got a majority of mine).

With Megatron, I can’t say I’ve had to wait as long as others as I’m still new to all of it but it looks like they finally figured out a way to effectively condense the tank mode in a way that allows a more screen-accurate robot mode. Overall, it looks fantastic.
