Godzilla Short Story

Post by Grand Seijin »

This is a very short story that I had composed around 3-4 months ago. As someone who is both a Christian and a Godzilla fan, I wanted to write Godzilla as some sort of biblical monster, harkening to the likes of Behemoth and Leviathan in the book of Job of the Old Testament. To give it some flair, I incorporated some language from the story of Noah in the beginning

"He is a being distinct from creation, set apart from the beasts of the land, of the sea, and everything that creepeth upon the land. As he rises, the mountains quiver; the earth shakes for each step he takes. He lay beneath the surface of the ocean for millenia at a time, for he is a goliath that has existed before man. His back, like towering peaks. His footsteps, like a great storm. In the times of the great empires; the great kings of old, man became too boastful. Kingdoms had begun to conquer other kingdoms and principalities, and endless wars ravaged the land. Many were wicked and immoral in nature, among the civilians and leaders. The kings of these nations had heard of this beast's great power, and they all vowed to destroy it, seeing it as a threat to their reign. They amassed hordes of fighting men, chariots, and naval fleets to repel the beast, all to no avail. Their vast armies were turned to dust, and their grand cities and citadels turned to fire and brimstone. From then on, the monster lay in dormancy under the ocean to this very day, yet nobody, not even the wisest of this generation, may know when he will return."
