The designs are really good, I will say, but Ghidorah's definitely doesnt fit Ghidorah very well. I think too many people get caught up in the whole alien part and less on the dragon part, which Ill say is more important.

Who says there can’t be a balance to be struck?

There can be a balance, but for my personal taste Im a bit of a purist and I think a lot of people go too far into the alien territory.

If you don't mind, could you re-post your take on my Godzilla redesign? I'd like to reference it so I can do it over.

Voiced the thoughts out of my head. Too many redesigns are too caught up in making him look Alien that in a twist of irony they actually end up all being the stereotypical perception of what an Alien is supposed to be- multiple limbs, eyes, weird protrusions that often add nothing to the actual biological structure etc. Now of course you can’t really accurately predict what an extraterrestrial being is supposed to look like but this really isn’t Ghidorah’s point- he is an Alien DRAGON, and you can’t just lose his draconic elements without undoing his character.

Old drawings of my stabs at reinterpreting King Ghidorah. Here, like Godzilla, he is the product of war. A war between worlds; the Xilliens and Kilaaks. While the king of monsters represented the devastation of the bomb drop, the space dragon represents the construction of the bomb. Once his purpose was fulfilled he turned on his creators and flew off into the cosmos to seek more planets with civilizations to destroy. As many million millennia passed, his continued exposure to solar radiation mutated his physical appearance. Growing a split tail, two additional heads and limbs among other deformities. Soon enough he arrived to earth and encountered the Gojiradons (Godzilla’s kind) and because of the abundance of them and other super species, he went into hibernation to wait them out.... eventually awakening in the 21st century; a world no longer ruled by monsters.

Looks really cool, i like the concept and the design looks like Ghidorah while still looking pretty alien-looking(at least, in my personal opinion), Keep up the good work!

It's a cool idea, just feels really, really overdesigned, like it feels like there's too little space for how much the artist seems to want to have going on, like all the tails, the arm dorsal fins, the extreme amounts of head and eyes - and everything else being put on there.

I agree. Tone it down a smidge and make it less busy, I think the concept can shine more. I still like the art, but that is my main complaint with the design.

The design elements are neat but overall its way too raptorized. Bulk him up a bit and you're golden.

Feels like Kiryu with some GvK Mechagodzilla aspects, and in my opinion it looks pretty neat, but i do agree that it is very raptorized,

Its partly an aesthetic thing, since having a fat beaver tail on Godzilla just doesn't look as cool as a sleek streamlined crocodile tail. And partly because it just makes sense for the way I imagine Godzilla would swim, which would be a side to side motion. The horizontal tail would require an up down swimming motion, which would look kinda silly for Godzilla. Godzilla is more reptile than mammal in design and he would most certainly swim like a crocodile.

I looked it up and I'm thinking of giving my Godzilla a tail akin to the Giant otter shrew, which is more crocodile-like :

Obamase did the impossible and managed to make the already near-perfect MV Ghidorah design even better! My only nitpick is the heads are a bit small in proportion to the beefy necks but aside from that, manifique

I like this, a much more streamline SpaceGodzilla whose appearance does convey its alien nature.
