Al Srobel, the one armed man from Twin Peaks, passed away. IIRC, he was meant to appear in the pilot as a homage to The Fugitive, but when it was noticed that he was actually a brilliant actor, he was made an actual character, and one of my favorite parts of the show.
Sad to see him go.

2022 claimed another childhood icon. Bob McGrath, an original Sesame Street cast member, passed away at the age of 90. He was one of my very first teachers and I was blessed to meet him and talk about education and Jim Henson with him in 2019. RIP.

This would be the third childhood icon I've seen pass away within such a short time, and the fourth celebrity passing that hit me hard over the past few months, and just fifth overall this year. Cherish those around you, and any time or moments in your mind and heart with those you remember.

90 huh? Even so, he always looked so bright and youthful during his time on Sesame Street. I just saw recent photos of him, and the feeling stays the same.

And there goes Kirstie Alley, from cancer at 71. Yikes, this year is a complete graveyard.

Kristie Alley was my first crush when I didn't even know what a crush is. May she rest in peace.

Judge, and legendary boxing referee, Mills Lane, passed away today at the age of 85. Also some may remember voicing himself on MTV's CELEBRITY DEATHMATCH.

Taro Shigaki, who's probably best known to us as the lead in 1973's Horror of the Wolf, passed away in March this year.

For real. Ichiro Mizuki was one of the biggest anisong performers for so many decades. Real legend and just a real nice guy. So many catchy songs. Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Combattler V, Spielban, Metalder, TIGER MASK! KAMEN RIDER! Transformers! Captain Harlock!

I saw he was battling throat cancer for some time. A shame. Apparently he had one last concert back at the end of November. Doing what he loved to do, singing. I'll have to get a playlist ready.

^It sucks he was hardly ever invited to be be the main singer for opening theme songs after the 80's. Since then, why was he just relegated to doing insert and ending themes almost exclusively. Why is that the case I wonder?
