Pretty sure I’ve seen the newspaper floating around. Nothing on the figure though.

Honestly, I'm hoping they don't reuse the Heisei origin for Gamera.

Same, I hope they can come up with something original.Cryptid_Liker wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 5:55 pm Honestly, I'm hoping they don't reuse the Heisei origin for Gamera.

I think a prehuman civilization origin for Gamera is what works best for him considering how fantastical he is compared to Godzilla.

^What are you thinking for an origin for Gamera? Why not tie him in with the legendary Shishin beasts? Either that, or make him hail from another dimension.

Re: Gamera Rebirth (NEW GAMERA 2023)
I don’t think that’s who Gamera at heart is. He’s an ancient beast from the distant past just as much Godzilla I’d a product of the atomic age.LegendZilla wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 7:49 pm Why not tie him in with the legendary Shishin beasts? Either that, or make him hail from another dimension.

That’s what he was in the Showa.Voyager wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 9:21 pmI don’t think that’s who Gamera at heart is. Yes. He was never interdimensional or an ancient spirit.

More than likely the ones making the series.

Most of us are used to having Godzilla having a myriad of origins, so why can't Gamera too?CamtheGodzillafan wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 10:34 pmMore than likely the ones making the series.

We'll just have to see what they come up with.

Coincidence?!LSD Jellyfish wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 10:38 pm Not trying to demean or belittle tbeasly here, but now a lot of statements like these, just from a couple of days ago, are making me chuckle:
I now summon Daimaijin, Guilala and Gappa!!

Re: Gamera Rebirth (NEW GAMERA 2023)
I just wanted to say that I'm ecstatic that I was wrong. I predicted on the general thread a few years ago that a Gamera film will never be made again. Boy does it feel awesome to have been proven wrong.
GVK: TNE is a modern day 70s Showa Godzilla movie. Being a massive budget modern blockbuster CGI film instead of traditional 70s tokusatsu techniques doesn't change that.
Monsterverse is not similar to either MCU nor Bayformers just because all three are big budget CGI blockbuster franchises.

Re: Gamera Rebirth (NEW GAMERA 2023)
Well it's not a film...is it? If it isn't then you're correct but I thought it was a series.
Oh please don't be like Godzilla Polygon trilogy. I think they can do something weird with Gamera...after he's had a good run of several years being back. I think after a long time something good but basic is for the best.

Is it possible for even Guilala or Daimajin to be brought back?darthzilla99 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 5:42 pm I just wanted to say that I'm ecstatic that I was wrong. Re: Gamera Rebirth (NEW GAMERA 2023)
Semantics really. The intent was that I thought there wasn't going to be any new material, movies, shows, ect.... of Gamera.daveblackeye15 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 6:00 pm Well it's not a film...is it? If it isn't then you're correct but I thought it was a series.

Re: Gamera Rebirth (NEW GAMERA 2023)
Daimajin technically already came back, as did the Yokai series, just last year. But I don’t think it was super good, or anything to write home about. Gululia has a funky design, but really minus a few neat destruction sequences is overall mediocre.
Gamera was the big one to come back.

Guilala is an icon, LSD. Please don't get it twisted.
