So, I hate to be the impatient type, but wasn't the entire point of cutting the DLC characters from 4 down to 2 was so that they could get DLC out at a faster/more consistent rate? Has anyone heard anything about the next wave? Is there going to be a next wave? Last I heard, they were having some difficulty getting the rights to Gamera, and then nothing.

Haven’t heard anything about the next wave yet, though most likely it’s being worked on. And if I had to guess, it will probably be more Godzilla stuff, since weirdly enough, they have an easier licensing deal.TitanoGoji16 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2024 4:43 pm So, I hate to be the impatient type, but wasn't the entire point of cutting the DLC characters from 4 down to 2 was so that they could get DLC out at a faster/more consistent rate? 4 character packs took about a year, last DLC just came out what like 3-4 months ago? I'd say give em another couple months before we get the next one. Still no clue what the next one will be tho.TitanoGoji16 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2024 4:43 pm So, I hate to be the impatient type, but wasn't the entire point of cutting the DLC characters from 4 down to 2 was so that they could get DLC out at a faster/more consistent rate? Same with Ultraman honestly, since they have to deal with that can’t sell the Ultraman DLC in Japan for some reason.GigaBowserG wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 3:37 pmYeah, ain't THAT somethingGlad Toho's playing nice. Does sound like the devs really gave it an honest try with Gamera, so if they dabble with more Godzilla, I can't blame them. Gotta get that revenue somehow to keep the hype train moving. Other than Gamera, I feel like Evangelion and Power Rangers would be no-brainer easy sellers, or originals in the form of public domain "originals" like a GigaBash Kong or Cthulhu.
Yeah, I think both of those would be easy sells. Something like Attack on Titan would be as well.

You would think Daei would be volunteering Gamera to people at this point. Kong or Cthulhu would be a fun public domain two pack.GigaBowserG wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 3:37 pmYeah, ain't THAT somethingGlad Toho's playing nice. Was it a whole year for the four packs? Huh. I could sworn it was closer to six months. My mistake, then.Godzillakuj94 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2024 11:16 pm4 character packs took about a year, last DLC just came out what like 3-4 months ago? I remember reading a while back (nothing official, so take this with a grain of salt) that the issue was Kadokawa wanted Passion Republic to use Rebirth Gamera, while Passion wanted to use "classic Gamera" (whether this meant Showa or Heisei, I don't know), and that was the main issue standing in the way. While I agree that I would definitely prefer Showa/Heisei over Rebirth, I'd also rather have Rebirth Gamera than no Gamera at all, so I hope Passion doesn't stand their ground too much.miguelnuva wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 8:04 pmYou would think Daei would be volunteering Gamera to people at this point.
Yeah, Evangelion's always popular, isn't it? And "Godzilla vs Dragonzord" basically sells itself.GigaBowserG wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 3:37 pmI feel like Evangelion and Power Rangers would be no-brainer easy sellers
Oh, I like this idea. It'd be pretty cool having Cthulhu in the game.GigaBowserG wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 3:37 pmpublic domain "originals" like a GigaBash Kong or Cthulhu.
I hope they're not done with Ultraman yet, even if it's just one last two pack. They need to add a couple Ultra Monsters to the roster. Baltan alone isn't enough. A two pack of Gomora and then either Red King or Zetton would be nice.
And they still need to promote Mecha-JURAS to a playable character, darn it. "Robot version of another monster" is the one big archetype missing from the base roster. I'm honestly surprised this hasn't happened yet.

Re: GigaBash (Featuring Godzilla)
Heard something similar... coupled with that if classic Gamera was used, it'd go the Ultraman route and be restricted to specific regions, but the Rebirth incarnations wouldn't have that issue. The game director is still pretty enthusiastic about Gamera on his social media, so I can only imagine they're warming up to the idea of including Rebirth versions versus none at all.TitanoGoji16 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 11:46 pm I remember reading a while back (nothing official, so take this with a grain of salt) that the issue was Kadokawa wanted Passion Republic to use Rebirth Gamera, while Passion wanted to use "classic Gamera" (whether this meant Showa or Heisei, I don't know), and that was the main issue standing in the way. Re: GigaBash (Featuring Godzilla)
I think there is something where the showa versions of kaiju are not owned solely by the studios where as other versions like the Heisei versions are. Personally I'd want Heisei Gamera but Rebirth Gamera would be fine as well. Its The three versions of Gamera are closer to each other than the different versions of Godzilla imo.GigaBowserG wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 1:00 pmHeard something similar... coupled with that if classic Gamera was used, it'd go the Ultraman route and be restricted to specific regions, but the Rebirth incarnations wouldn't have that issue. ...I guess my Titan sense was tingling!

Given the fireball and the rainbow, at first I was thinking this was going to be Gamera and Barugon. Then, with the "Mighty" title, I thought it might be the Megazord and perhaps Goldar? And then i thought, heck, maybe it's a double whammy and it's Gamera and the Megazord. But then, looking closer at the description, it turns out we're actually getting two new original monsters! I'm glad to hear Passion Republic hasn't given up on creating their own characters.

Same, I was a bit worried they might just continue riding the collab DLC hype train, glad that was unfounded. Nice to have a mix-up of totally new faces to go with the existing IPs, keeps things fresh.TitanoGoji16 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 10:39 am But then, looking closer at the description, it turns out we're actually getting two new original monsters! Re: GigaBash (Featuring Godzilla)
Definitely. And it must be a sign that the game is doing well, right? If the game wasn't making as much money as they were hoping for and the last DLC or two didn't sell as well as they needed to, they wouldn't risk making a couple of OCs that people may potentially not care about, would they? They'd hit the panic button and make a wave of surefire Evangelion / Attack on Titan / Pacific Rim DLC or something. So the game must be doing well, which is great to hear.GigaBowserG wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 1:16 pmNice to have a mix-up of totally new faces to go with the existing IPs, keeps things fresh.

Which is great to see, since it’s amazing to have a game like this. It’s becoming the Smash Bros. of fighting games and that’s something very special to have.TitanoGoji16 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 2:04 pmDefinitely. Quite excited as well for original monsters since their original monsters are super well designed and I’m very excited to see what they come up with.

The Mighty DLC was just officially revealed, and it brings us R.O.J.A.K. and Balzarr... GigaBash's equivalents of the Megazord (or at least a Megazord) and Goldar!
These guys look great!

sound like they couldn't get the rights for power rangers so they made their own version.

Re: GigaBash (Featuring Godzilla)
Balzarr looks like a fun inclusion and is the first true Quadruped in the roster I believe which is cool. R.O.J.A.K. exceeded my expectations in both design and lore. The Gigabash team knocked it out of the park again and can't wait for these two to join the roster.

When the game has both godzilla and ultraman proper and b-versions, I have no idea why you'd assume this to be true
