Since this isn't just about designs, but also characterization... hm. I actually have to think here.

1. Monsterverse Godzilla. I've always loved the more heroic takes on Godzilla. I always rooted for him as a kid, so seeing Godzilla return to his heroic side in the Monsterverse was a great thing to see. I love the design and smug, yet short-tempered attitude too. Also, the only Godzilla to ever laugh besides Showa V2!

2. Showa V2. I admit I'm not a huge fan of most of his designs (save 64, that one's epic), but this Godzilla pretty much has the best character arc in the series if you ask me. Also, more heroic Godzilla representation!

3. Heisei Godzilla. Naturally the design people most often think of, and also one of the more expressive Godzillas who's story is filled with emotional pathos.

4. G2K Godzilla. Not a lot of character to work with, here, but I'm a sucker for the design and it was my first non-Showa film. It's also one of the more heroic Godzillas... sometimes... sort of.

5. GMK Godzilla. The last Godzilla I can think of that had a really expressive personality. Just pure malice and rage.

The rest don't have much character to them, so from now on it'll be in regards to designs:

7. Kiryu Duology.

8. Final Wars Godzilla.

Also, what are GyuraGoji and ToraGoji? Wouldn't it just be easier for everyone to just use dates? Do we HAVE to be such colossal nerds about how we name different Godzillas?

Yes, true. I get it. And I know Toho has had this particular naming convention for a long time. MosuGoji, KingGoji and BioGoji were known and frequently used names back in the 90s for example.

And for the most part I'm fine with these types of names being used for the movies in the first three Toho series. But damn, when it gets to the point that there are Godzilla variants using the names of MonsterVerse directors or things like ToraGoji (which means what exactly?), it gets to be a little much, especially if someone is going to use them all in a preference list.

Again, isn't using years easier and wouldn't you reach far more people by doing that?
