Post by Tyrant_Lizard_King »

The first teaser just dropped and figured it was time it got its own thread.

Nice! Always down for more creature flicks especially ones not overdone like sharks. :D

Added in 15 minutes 20 seconds:
Trollhunter (2010), Ragnarok (2013), The Ritual (2017) and now this.

Love me some more Norweigan monster films. How about we get one on Fenrir the wolf. :D

Then I've got a duology of horror novels by a guy named Robert C. Sloane for you that you might be interested in:

*A Nice Place to Live (1981)
*The Vengeance (1983)

They're not films, btw, they're paperback horror novels. The first book also has a very interesting version of the origin of trolls. That's all I'm going to tell you right now.

I've seen how trolls are portrayed in fantasy films, so it might be interesting to see them as kaiju.
The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you've got it made.

To be fair in Norse Mythology, there were trolls even bigger than Godzilla. Notably the size of mountains.

Great now I wanna see a Godzilla movie where he fights a mountain troll...

I wouldn't be surprised if this is secretly set in the same universe. Watch we get a post-credits featuring Hans. :P

This leads way to a Troll Cinematic Universe.

This has a classic 'giant monster on the loose' feel, right? Like, the filmmakers were really excited to hit all those beats from classic movies.

Looks intentionally dumb, but in a fun way. I like it! It's always cool to see a country that isn't Japan or America making an effort to break into this genre.

Agreed. They might not be the best movies in the genre, but I always appreciated Reptillicus and Yongary for trying, and I've been somewhat surprised that with the rise in cheaper CGI we haven't seen more attempts from other countries in the past decade. I don't care if it comes from Asia, Europe, Africa, or South America, more honest attempts in this genre is always a good thing in my opinion.
I unapologetically, wholeheartedly, and without a doubt hate Godzilla vs Kong.
