Caved and pre-ordered the Rodan as a replacement for my NECA. We only have a few pictures but it already looks like an improvement.

Waiting to see Mothra to find out if the NECA Poster version might be leaving as well.....

Mothra seems to have the same points of articulation but what Hiya improves seems to be the paint applications and the sculpt. Hiya Mothra seems to have individually sculpted antenna as well.

That sounds pretty worth it. I missed out on the NECA one, so I’m itching for a MV Mothra for my collection.

Plus the neca Mothra feels like it’ll break if you blink too hard at it. I’m just waiting for it to disintegrate out of the blue one day.

Hopefully hiya can make their Rodan and Mothra more durable. Though the nature of the designs (especially Mothra) may mean any 6 inch scale figure is going to be delicate.

Rodan looks like a huge improvement. Seems like Hiya implemented similar joints to the legs in the same way Monsterarts went about it. The wings being the biggest thing on the figure, I’m very certain the bendy wires won’t be jutting out unlike figures that have smaller limbs with bendy wire.

Got the Hiya Godzilla statue back in October in my BBTS Pile of Loot. Just got the Kong Statue added a few days ago. Hopefully they put out Mechagodzilla so I can complete the Trinity

I must admit I'm not crazy about how the wings look. As someone who has complained many a times about how so many Rodan 2019 figures lack that distinctive "burning wings" effect, this is the first to have too much paint, lol.

Not bad overall though. Body articulation looks pretty solid, and the legs don't seem as fragile as I was worried they'd be.

Seems like Hiya have really established themselves as an alternative to SHMA. I still prefer the articulation engineering on those figures, but even as a stan for the line I can say there's no comparison in a visual sense. It's nice to see that the issues people had are being addressed in some way with these figures.
