I know Toho for a while now. We will get new food with Godzilla logo, new soap with Godzilla logo, new towels with Godzilla logo, new t-shirts....
OK, just kidding.
Lets see what we got to his 25th anniversary: this was in 1979 and we got... well nothing.
30th anniversary in 1984 - Return of Godzilla
40th anniversary in 1994 - Godzilla vs Spacegodzilla
50th anniversary in 2004 - Final Wars
60th anniversary in 2014 - Godzilla (legendary)
70th anniversary in 2024 - ???

Before everyone gets their hopes up for the Carpenter thing TOO much, it could just be him hosting a Godzilla marathon for Comet or whatever. Or maybe some commentary.

In this day and age I would say thinking he might show a fan film he made isn't that far fetched.

Also sucks for timing as we are getting Godzilla against Mechagodzilla Fathom Event on Nov. 3rd at like 7pm EST too.

I remember 50th Anniversary being pretty exciting, even though the Final Wars movie itself was a letdown. But there was a lot of promotional stuff and merchandise. Heck, I still have the newspaper clipping with pictures of Godzilla getting his star on the Walk of Fame.

The DVD releases/rereleases, Godzilla: Save the Earth, Bandai USA in full swing…good times.
