Via a Preference Revealer app:
I feel my results are a bit of an amalgamation of my objective and subjective views of these movies. But I enjoy them all to at least some degree. But this got me thinking about how the Godzilla films stack up against Toho's other classic Kaiju offerings. So I did it again, using their other titles featuring giant monsters (Battle in Outer Space and The War in Space are included due to them sometimes being listed as apart of the same "series" as Mysterians and Gorath).
I might do another ranking that expands it to include more their sci-fi/disaster titles, though I'm not exactly sure where to draw the line (do I also include their SFX-heavy war films or offbeat stuff like House or Blue Christmas?).

Same, I put G54 as my favorite movie of all time but it's only #4 when ranking in the Godzilla series itself.

I forgot to mention that there's only one little thing wrong with Godzilla Raids Again, and that's the fact that the fight scenes between Godzilla and Anguirus were accidentally sped up too fast to be realistic-looking. If I could change one thing about any of these films, this would be it. This, and having Baragon destroy the Arc du Trioumphe in Destroy All Monsters the way he was supposed to do in the first place (the script said Baragon; therefore it's Baragon).

Thanks, it feels like an eternity for me, too. I decided to take a break from TK that ended up lasting almost 2 years. But I've recently reignited my interest in Godzilla (as tends to happen every couple years) and realized I missed this forum.

The preference generator sounded interesting so I took a stab at it. I ranked these based on how much I personally like them, not how “objectively good” they are. I used the American titles but I consider the Japanese and English versions basically on par with each other except for the original. Which is why you’ll see both Godzilla and Godzilla King of the Monsters as I ranked them separately.

Overall, I find this very accurate. In fact, it might be a more honest ranking than if I put them in order manually.

It’s worth noting that I quite like ALL of these films. And some would be moved significantly if this were a statement of quality cinema vs personal enjoyment. For example, Monster Zero would certainly be among what I consider the “best” films, but I’ve seen it SOO many times now that I’ve kinda grown tired of it. I’ve got MZ fatigue, lol.

Well there's an interesting list. The traditional whipping boys are mostly relatively high up with GRA in fourth place, and then MvG and GvH are the bottom two. If there's a pattern here, I can't see it.
