Nice assumption, but nah. The Showa Gamera films were at least creative and original. Gappa is a poor man's Gorgo and Mothra vs. Godzilla.

I know it'll never happen, and most posts here are just joking, but as long as he doesn't dance I'd be okay with it. I actually kinda liked the movie, wasn't much different from a lot of other old Showa era fare. And like another poster said, Gamera used to be a joke too before his great trilogy, so something amazing could actually be done if the right people put in the effort. That said, I'd probably prefer if South Korea made a few modern Yonggary movies to build up his reputation first before seeing him in the Monsterverse. See if they can't make something as polished as Shin Godzilla to get people talking.

Also, it'll never happen because political tension between the two Koreas, but a Yonggary vs Pulgasari movie would be cool, not even going to lie. Of course for political reasons I'd be rooting for Yonggary.

At this point, Yongary is too obscure. If the kaiju was rebooted and the film was well received, that would help.
