Well, I made it about a year, but it happened. I went to HobbyTown USA, they had some Safari dinosaurs, and I folded like a damn towel. Walked out with an Edmontosaurus. Guess I'm back.

It's a nice figure, though. Very big, with a good sculpt and an eye-catching color scheme. I love the shade of red on the crest, and it stands out boldly against the black scales. The tiger-striped face and spotted body clash a bit awkwardly, but eh. There are only so many good Edmontosaurus figures out there, so I'm not going to nitpick too much.

Dave Silva teases another raptor for BOTM, but not the kind you were expecting.

So basically he's doing dual releases for each figure? One with armor under the Cyberzoic line and one without released under the BotM banner?

Sort of.

Aside from Achillobator and Utahraptor, it seems most of the new dinosaurs will be Cyberzoic only, likely do to the fact most of the families haven't been introduced yet.

However, David has said the BOTM redos/BOTM version of the big raptors will be different as he intends for Cyberzoic figures to be females of the species with duller color schemes and BOTM brighter colored males.

BBTS has preorders for the Mattel Dominion wave!

They've also got the Hammond Collection up and have revealed the rest of the wave coming this year (along with the Baryonyx, Parasaurolophus, 93 raptor and Malcolm we know about): Dilophosaurus, Gallimimus, Ellie Sattler, Alan Grant, Ceratosaurus, and Triceratops.

This also aligns with a leaked shipping manifest, confirming we also will see a T. rex at some point.

I found the Mattel Kentrosaurus at Walmart. I'm pretty much done collecting Mattel JW, as I've said before, but I might fold and go back for this one. I like stegosaurs, and I do have the shelf space for it.

A new independent sculptor/figure maker Creature Preacher is working on a figure of the titular creature from the 1977 Jaws ripoff The Crater Lake Monster. If successful he plans to do a whole line of figures including the Tyrannosaurs from both Planet of the Dinosaurs and Caveman.

I'm not sure if I like the T. rex or not. The paint job looks great; I'm hoping the proportions are better than they appear in the promo pics.

The Ceratosaurus looks great, though! I think it's actually more accurate to the real creature than the film design. A bunch of other JW figures (including Megaraptor, Ampelosaurus, Iguanodon, and a quadruped Spino) were just revealed as well.

Safari ltd. has finally revealed a few more of their roster for this year, with some exciting (or interesting) selections:

Nanotyrannus juvenile T. rex (apparently this is a tie-in with the Dino Dana series, which addresses some of the controversy surrounding this animal)

Zuul

Albertosaurus

More prehistoric creatures might be revealed at a later date.

And on a different note, the exclusive "Banjo" Australovenator model from Australian Age of Dinosaurs just popped back in stock on their website, with international shipping options.

Nanmu Mordred up for pre-order at BBTS. Not sure which paint scheme I like more. The green is gorgeous but I also really like the Ultimasaurus variant as well.

The Mesozoic Life Spinosaurus campaign is back! It's off to a pretty good start, too, with nearly half the goal already met in the first day.

This could very well be the definitive Spinosaurus figure on the market if it's successful (until the next discovery/paper, at least); and more dinosaurs could be on the way.
