Re: Official TK X-PLUS Collector's Discussion Group
Well, awesomecollector just refunded my deposit on the Sakai ‘91 Abashiri Godzilla without any notice. I mean, I’m not shocked considering I preordered it well over a year ago and it still hasn’t come in. Kinda sucks to just get a refund without any prior warning though.
Oh well. Maybe I can track down one of the ‘91 kits from the Godzilla store. I like that pose better anyway and I’d enjoy building it myself.
Added in 2 hours 35 minutes 57 seconds:
Dang. Maybe not. The kits aren’t any less than the completed figure. At least on eBay.

Re: Official TK X-PLUS Collector's Discussion Group
The ric site has a new Monster Zero two pack of Godzilla and Rodan up. It’s a steal of a price for these two. And I’m loving the dusty paint job. I’ve already got both figures (Pretty sure I paid almost that just for Rodan!) or I’d be all over this. The Godzilla is easily one of X-plus’ very best 25cm figures. Phenomenal sculpt, great dynamic pose. It’s just magnificent.

Boy, X-Plus sure loves passing off that 1964 Rodan suit as the 1965/68 one, don't they?

Re: Official TK X-PLUS Collector's Discussion Group
What is the difference between the ‘64 and ‘65 Rodan? The ‘68 is different enough to be obvious, but the only thing I see different between the ‘64 and ‘65 is the wings look a little different. (Specifically, the top of the wings where his hands are seem to be more of a triangular point on the 64 and more of a swoop arch/hump on the 65). Of course, decent reference photos can be tough to find online.

Re: Official TK X-PLUS Collector's Discussion Group
The 64 and 65 suits are completely different. The 1965 Rodan has a thicker neck that hides the suit actor's head better, downward sloping horns and beak, less pronounced chest spikes, thicker legs and thicker, heavier wings. The 1968 Rodan is just the 1965 suit after 3 years of wear and storage.

Also, thanks for the Rodan clarification Legion. It’s painfully obvious now that it’s been pointed out. I can’t believe I didn’t see it before. I think I was under the mistaken impression the ‘65 Rodan was a reworked/repaired ‘64 (like how there’s the ‘64 A and B suits or ‘89/‘91 for Godzilla) and the ‘68 suit was a further repair/alteration of the mothballed suit a few years later.

Re: Official TK X-PLUS Collector's Discussion Group
It's funny how this isn't the first time this has happened. Obviously, the Rodan thats offically part of the Destroy All Monstets XPlus set is the same 1964 Rodan thats being reissued here. When Pilot Ace put out a 1965 Godzilla back in the mid 2000s, the Rodan that joined him was the 1964 version. Since Mezco used Xplus' figures for reference, the Rodan in that set is also the 1964 version.
The only time someone got it right was Marmit in the Para Baby line in the warly 2000s. They did all the figures from Monster Zero, and the Rodan was the apprropate 1965 suit.

Is there any hope or talk of a 1998 Godzilla figure? The Deforeal seemed pretty popular.

Wondering how much would a 30cm Godzilla 84 RIC be selling for? Considering selling mine. Anyone know current value?

Re: Official TK X-PLUS Collector's Discussion Group
It’s so basic. Before this appeared on the Ric site, I thought he would have a switch out arm or something. So I’m guessing there’s only one version of Gigantic Kong then.
