From what I've been seeing, Aqua Mothra is kind of meh and Godzilla can hit REALLY hard but definitely has solid counters. The charge ability is also way out of left field, yeah. Then again, Kiryugoji is so inanimate and boring of an incarnation that I can understand why they had to take some liberties with his moveset.

I mean, if they really wanted a "fast Godzilla" unit, they could've just used Megarogoji and made his attack the tail slide kick.

Clearly, his incredible response time.

Seriously what an odd power choice lol

We have a running Godzilla currently in the Monsterverse, and he's likely to be featured in the next season.

I'll join everyone here in saying that Godzilla 2002's moveset makes no sense for the character.

I don't like the delta concept at all... but to be honest this moveset would have been perfect for Godzilla 2004. He is known to run, seen against Anguirus and Monster X, while his ray also has a lot of knockback, seen versus Ebirah and Hedorah.

Well, glad to see it finally official after so many false speculation cycles.

Frankly expecting just Kong with B.E.A.S.T. Glove and Evolved Godzilla. Hopefully, though, we get another round of kaiju from the film the month after.

GBL going ham next season. 4 new units (Evolved Godzilla & BEAST Glove Kong being introduced 5/31, Skar King & Shimo being introduced 6/14), new Hollow Earth-themed map, as well as some kind of in-game card collecting thing that buffs decks based on the cards and leaders used.

About time we got a new map. Could have done without cards, though.

There will also be a system in place where you can "mute" specific players so you don't see their sticker spamming in battle (instead of muting everyone), and also a friends list! You get points and other benefits when you have friends and/or assist your friends.

Four units in a season? Well not only been awhile since that happened, but didn't see them all being introduced all at once.

On a side note, this has me a little worried:

I don't hate the concept of the battle memory cards, but it looks like they are equipped to your leader. I assume that means if you change leaders you have to re-equip them all again? That sounds like a pain in the ass if you are swapping your leader to do a daily/weekly task and then plan to switch it right back.

I'd assume that if (for this example) you had 4 cards equipped to KG2019, swapped him out with a temporary leader for dailies, then swapped him back in, his cards would still be on him. From what they showed in the program, the types of cards you can equip to leaders will vary (I think one of them had slots where it was 2 reds, 1 green, and 1 blue compared to KG2019's 3 reds and 1 blue).

However, I know in some other gachas, pieces of equipment similar to these cards cannot be shared among units. So if you have, say, the Godziban card attached to KG2019 leader here, but then swap to another leader who can also use the Godziban card, you'd have to unequip it from KG2019 to the other leader, then re-equip it to KG2019 later. This is probably one of the reasons why you're allowed to get duplicate cards (another being that you can merge/sell them).

Hadn't thought about this setup. Really hope that's how it works. Don't even mind if the cards can't be shared among leaders, just as long as it remembers what cards were on prior leaders.

Okay, so, what do the Battle Memories... do? I didn't really get it from the game's initial description of them. Also, geez, they really made the new "receiving gold from your match" animation flashy, didn't they?

All cards have a certain amount of points they give toward your HP rank (god, why does this game use the word "rank" for everything) and Attack rank. Every 100 points in a particular rank unlocks a bonus for that unit that is unique, and each has their own separate table. For example, Anguirus at HP rank 1 gives +98 HP while Attack rank 1 gives +19 attack. The bonuses seem to be unique across each units. For example, Mechagodzilla 2021 gets a huge +147 HP for rank 1, Orga, Kong 2021 and Godzilla 2004 get an amazing +138 HP, Mechagodzilla 1974 gets +99 HP... and then Ultraman gets a paltry +69.

In addition to these, some cards boost certain units or your leaders. For example, Godzilla Tower increases the attack of two star units by a flat +30 (works well with Moguera, who for some reason counts as a unit here) while the signed GXMG poster boosts the attack for Godzilla 2002/2003 and Kiryus by +8%. Worth noting that the same cards do not stack, so you can't have a deck of all just Godzilla Towers to raise your two star attack by +120.

About the gist of it... oh and each leader has certain memory types that they get more points toward the ranks. This is a 20% boost. That might be meaningful as people get more cards, but right now with people only having so few probably not worth worrying about yet.

Yeah, someone went crazy there. I mean, it would have been cool if maybe they had a random mechanic where on a rare occasion you got x3/x4 or whatever G-token rewards and then that animation played to make it feel extra special. ...but having that be the new default animation? Feels a bit much.

I wish they'd add a few 3 star units. Scylla, Tiamat and the Drown Viper would be nice additions to the game that don't need to be meta-altering, and it'd be great to have more Monsterverse representatives in the game. Even Suko would have been acceptable.

This applies to other seasons, too. I don't think anyone would have objected to having Jiger or Guiron from the Gamera season, especially since they're unlikely to revisit it for the game. Toho was doing this in earlier collabs like Ultraman and Evangelion, but have since moved away from that model.

I've noticed some cards dint indicate skill effects, like the Anguirus and Shin Godzilla cards. I'm guessing they only affect those units?

Another card confusion. The decks have predetermined slots for cards and their colors, but each leader has a card color preference. For example, Mothra has three green and one blue, but no deck has that combination. What happens if you swap a card for one of another color, like putting a blue card in a red slot?

Based on my understanding, you still get the stats from the card that is not the same color. However using a card with the recommended color in the slot with the same color, gives you a bonus in stats. I think it based on the one card, but it could be that the bonus comes in when you have the full set of recommended colors.

Why in the frick is BEAST Glove Kong a better damage soak and a harder hitter than my one-level-away-from-being-fully-leveled-up Godzilla 1989? That nonsense is inexcusable.
