And it'd be pretty easy to pull off, I think. Just have him be officially called Titanus Minilla, while one or more characters refer to him as "Junior" in dialogue. Easy-peasy.

Like I said the info I posted is likely BS regardless but I like speculating personally.

January guy is not my source lol. I would not be dumb enough to claim someone with bad credibility. Im fairly certain I prefaced the shit in January with its not my info. He did however ask me to share that, and for a minute there during the lead up to March, I did find myself teetering towards it(Filming Title Zeus{Titanomachy, anyone?}), but no.

Ive got better stuff now that im working on confirming with some tightly knit friend groups. I aint riskin a repeat of the New Empire wild fiasco where EVERYTHING went wildly out of control with the widespread leaks. I dont share any of the info I get that I trust from those that I do trust, because that is how you lose those connections, and we did lose a guy from The New Empire's fiasco. So yeah. Lips sealed entirely this time.

The idea of the name "Minilla" making the cut and not Junior sounds plausible. I could also see Toho giving Legendary some leeway with the design if they think the name recognition matters.

But they might as well just call him Junior if they aren't going to try to make him vaguely resemble Minilla. That's assuming any of this is even true.

I feel the exact opposite. Saying minilla out loud without trying to make a Marvel joke out of it sounds implausible. Godzilla Junior. Baby Godzilla. Little Godzilla. These work better because they arent names.

After getting my hopes up with that first "leak" months ago before it got blown to bits, I've reverted back to assuming anything not directly proved by set photos is nothing more than lies or rumors until the test screenings start. Once the test screenings begin we'll start to get our first real plot leaks.

This is the right mindset for sure. Pretty much every "leak" I see in this subforum reads as very typical fanservicey stuff. I feel like it's a bit early for leaks to exist anyway, it's not like a Star Wars scale event movie where information is a huge hot ticket.

If we're gonna be frank and real here, the average moviegoer has NEVER heard the name "Minilla". The name they know and all refer to the character as is "Godzooky" - they're wrong, obviously, but we all know this to be true. If the include the character, I 99% expect him to go by "Junior".

There's no reason to believe anything anyone says (no offense, Kaijucifer) until someone reports back from a test screening. We're never getting a repeat of what happened with G14 where someone accidentally got mailed a copy of an early draft of the screenplay and leaked info that way.

In more news: The Utah shoot should be starting up tomorrow & it was confirmed by Supernova location manager Leanne Emmett that filming locations also include Mexico City & Mumbai.

Oh! Okay, so maybe the desert scenes are meant to be northern Mexico?

Mumbai is particularly interesting and that's a pretty nicely built up city which could serve as a great backdrop for a kaiju fight or attack. Man, we have so many puzzle pieces here it'll be fascinating to see how it all fits together in the end.

Legendary recognized the popularity of Skar King and the demand for more humanoid ape monsters, so they're going with Yetrigar as the next movie's villain! Supernova is an adaptation of the 10th & 11th issues of Marvel's Godzilla comic book!

I don't think Toho would charge an arm and an leg or shoot down Legendary in regards to SpaceG's origin when Toho themselves like what the Monsterverse has done to Godzilla's international popularity as well as saying G14 played a part in Toho deciding to make Shin Godzilla and later Minus One, both major success for them.

If you read the leak it sounds less like it was a budget concern and more that Toho didn't like the ideas being pitched to them to reboot his character for the Monsterverse.

Personally, I've said this before, but I'd like it if Henry Jackman made his own, original themes for the film.

I love the Ifukube music, who doesn't, but I really enjoy the idea of composers getting an opportunity to leave their own mark on the franchise. Especially in the case of this movie, as you have the chance to not only create a theme for Godzilla, but also Kong (as well as any other monsters or even characters for that matter). Jackman had a solid theme for Kong in KSI, but who knows if he'll bring that back for Supernova. I'd love to hear what he has for Godzilla, I want to hear something that fits the character, but doesn't sound like Ifukube-lite (which is essentially what Tom Holkenborg did).

Slightly disappointed that no Monsterverse news was revealed at SDCC. I wasn't looking for much, just maybe some teasing of LoM season 2 or this spin-off series that was announced a year ago.

Too early for GxK and Monarch season 2 for all we know kw may not even come out till next year. Having O'Shea there was a nice surprise however hopefully that means his and Chris's Monarch G-Team project is still being worked on.
