Also, since it seems a few people have watched Gundam GQuuuuuuux, I'm curious: as someone who's never really tried to get into Gundam series successfully, is this an ok place to start? I'm curious about it since I believe Hideaki Anno is involved and I just got Prime so it's on there to watch. I was gonna try the original compilation movies on Netflix but they got taken down.

The compilation movies aren't on Netflix anymore? Dang, that's a shame.

Anywho, to answer your question, I'm gonna have to say no. GQuuuuuuX being set in an alternate timeline branched off the original Gundam might just seem like set dressing at first but, without getting into any kind of spoilers, knowing at least the gist of what happens in that show becomes VITAL by the end of it. I will say the investment is worth it, though. Both shows are really good.

I’d just recommend watching the first episode of the first series, and you’d get everything.

Dark Horse is finally releasing Lone Wolf and Cub as a set of deluxe hardcovers! I've been waiting years for this; once DH began putting out their 'classic' manga titles in deluxe formats I knew this would happen eventually. Previous releases of this series were printed in both small format and done so long ago they were flipped (so they read like a western book, not a Japanese one).

So there's a new Gundam manga starting in Japan. Mobile Suit Gundam Eight. A new AU in manga format.

I just read the raws over on facebook. Long and short, it's Gundam vs Aliens. Think Muv Luv. The aliens are weird looking spider crab things with multiple claws and legs.

I just bought a new Blu-ray set titled Twisters Double Feature, which has both Twister (1996) and Twisters (2024) in it on two separate discs instead of one double-sided disc like some companies do.

These two films are very special to me because I saw both of them with my Mom, and only her, in two different movie theaters (both of which have long since closed down) before she recently started ailing.
