Yes, want the 1962 figure so bad as well!

I love them both! I was going 'ohhhh' 'ahhhh' looking at the 2.0 figure. The original Godzilla '99 sculpt is still my favorite figure of them all, but the 2.0 is incredible on its own. The attention to detail is fantastic!

It should be, considering Shinichi Wakasa helped sculpt it.

Bumping some life back into this thread...

At this point we pretty much know if we're going to get any surprises with the MMS it will most likely be with a big Godzilla Day figure reveal or one last set of retail figures late in the year. But whether it be this year or next year what are you top 10 figures you hope Bandai makes in the future? My list is (and don't be shocked that it's all Showa)...

1) Showa Kumonga
2) 1968 Manda
3) 1964 Rodan (or 1965, I'll take either)
4) 1973 Gigan (or a Gigan resculpt in general)
5) Godzilla 1966
6) Godzilla 1971 with battle damage
7) Mothra adult 1964
8) Godzilla 1964B (just give the '64 a new head is all I ask)
9) King Ceasar (a new sculpt obviously)
10) Mysterian's Mogera

Would love all of these!!! Wish Bandai would make them all

2. Manda 1968 (coiled sculpt)
Genuinely curious. Why coiled? I've never seen the prop in that position and honestly I don't think it could have even gotten into that position anyway. I've actually seen other people mention wanting a coiled Manda. I know YMSF did a Manda that way, but it's not indicitive at all of how the character ever looked.

The funny thing is that my top three figures (Kumonga, Manda, Rodan) would drive certain collectors crazy if they did them. Based on how Bandai makes their toys, none of them would have a single point of articulation. I'm positive of that.

Because those pencil-straight sculpts that Bandai did for their current Manda figures look abysmal.

I suppose it wouldn't have to be coiled specifically but basically having a twisty/curved sculpt or allowing articulation to get it into that position. Heck, if Bandai really wanted to step up their game they could produce a Manda that could be articulated to be flattened down or "wrapped", and package it with the Gotengo ala a box set or something.

My dream releases regarding Showa would include the following:

Retail Rodan (any variant)
G-Store Flying Rodan
G-Store Frankenstein
G-Store Kumonga
P-BANDAI King Kong VS Godzilla Set (not gonna happen)
P-BANDAI Mothra (1964) & 2 Larvae Set
P-BANDAI War of the Gargantuas Set
P-BANDAI Godzilla (1967) & Minilla (in scale)
P-BANDAI King Kong (1967) VS Mechani Kong Set (not gonna happen)
P-BANDAI Manda (w/interchangeable head)
P-BANDAI Yog Monsters Set

MMS Giga King Ghidorah (1964/1972) (in scale)
MMS Giga Hedorah (in scale)

I don't want P-BANDAI exclusives, but those would otherwise have very low chances to be made as retail releases or G-Store exclusives.

Here's some of my dream MMS, in no order, off the top of my head...

- Gezora
- Godzilla 62
- Kong 62
- Third Street Godzilla
- Fake Godzilla
- Showa Mothra
- Zedus (will never happen)
- Guilala (even more will never happen)

And a few I'd like too see, but don't desperately need

- King Ceasar 2.0 / Final Wars
- in-scale Minilla (just release him the 5" MMS line really)
- Showa Gigan 2.0, whichever suit
- Godzilla '57
- Muto 2.0 / the female muto
- Biollante 2 0, much larger and more painted - probably wouldn't buy it but I think a more dedicated take would be great
- Showa Gamera 2.0s like Guiron or Barugon - I think Guiron could have a chance but I assume the Gamera ship has sailed for MMS, for now

I think there's a lot of creative ideas to be had for the posing series, too. GMK with the laser blasting through his shoulder, G'75 holding MG's head, Evo in the poster running pose.

Great list I would love to see all these get made. But every one has great lists and made great choices.

Ok, just to be a bit different here’s my list.

I know, these are not necessarily Toho produced characters from one of their films, but they still had to grant licensing rights just like they did with Legendary and Tri Star Godzilla ‘98; they have their own Bandai figures:

1. Marvel Godzilla
2. Any or all of G’s Kaiju enemies from Marvel comic book series.
3. IDW Comic Book G from all of their series.
4. IDW G’s foes.
5. Dark Horse Comic Godzilla
6. Dark Horse G’s enemies.
7. Hanna-Barbera Godzilla
8. Hanna-Barbera G’s enemies
9. Godzilla from the 1990’s Animated Series
10. G’s foes from that series

YMSF (or Sakura Toys) produced some of these. But I’d like to see Bandai’s take on it.

Marvel owns them, not Toho.
Godziboomer64 wrote: Fri Jul 11, 2025 5:01 pm 6. Dark Horse G’s enemies.
I believe Dark Horse Comics owns them.
Godziboomer64 wrote: Fri Jul 11, 2025 5:01 pm 10. G’s foes from that series (the 1998 Godzilla: The Series cartoon)
AFAIK, Toho only owns the rights to them in Japan (and possibly other parts of Asia), and Sony owns the rights everywhere else.

I’m predicting for this year g store streams we will be getting a headless Mechagodzilla in celebration of terror of mechagodzilla 50th anniversary and we will be getting a Godzilla 66 surprise to go with giant condor kinda like they surprised us with a Godzilla 74 with flying Mechagodzilla. Also wouldn’t be surprised if Godzilla 62 is also rereleased. Hoping I’m right on these three! Would love them in my collection this year
