*ideas start forming*

Godzilla 1964: He's basically Minus One Godzilla, except he can only do the "hide in water until approached" thing on land, as a reference to his entrance in the movie.
Godzilla 1965: Performs the Godzilla Shie, generating an energy field that... buffs allies? Nerfs enemies? Both?
Godzilla 1973: Does the sliding tail kick all the way across the map, until he hits a foe, at which point he stands up and starts whacking enemy units with his tree.
Godzilla 1974: Magnetically charges himself and draws in any enemy units to him. He doesn't hit or blast or anything, but as long as enemy units are in physical contact with him, they suffer damage until he is KO'd. Maybe he can be wearing his electric tower bra. :P

I feel like all I do is bitch about this game

I restarted yesterday with a decent pull of initial units and cards and managed to level up to rank 5/arena rank 43 as of right now but almost every ranked battle I face are players who've been playing way longer than me with units far more maxed out than mine (despite the grind, my teams units range from 8 at the highest and 3 at the lowest, my 4 RoM units ranging from 4-6) and I'm still getting slaughtered despite having both the new Gamera and Legion as well. I really wish they could fix the ranking system and actually pair you with people on your equal playing field. My friends have all ranked to the high 30's and are experiencing the same issues, onslaughts of whales and veterans and not any expedition pulls to level up their actual main deck units. I shit you not the last 5 Legion/Burning Godzilla/Gamera expeditions I've gotten in a row and have yet to yield a single 5 star unit of any kind, I felt like I'd gotten nonstop 1-2 star units yet by the time I'm done leveling them up, they're level 11 at best. The ratios are wack.

I'm also experiencing a ton of connection losses on my end, I can count on losing at least 5 matches a day because of it despite my service being crystal. It's quite frustrating.

I've got it! Two new units so broken, so OP, they'll change the face of Godzilla: Battle Line forever!

...

ARE YOU READY?!

...

HERE THEY COME!

...

THEY'RE HERE!

Image
Shukra: Fires a series of calculator numbers and grades (A+, B-, etc) from his mouth, slowing down enemy units. When enemy units start to get too close, Shukra unleashes a telekinetic blast from his giant mind, forcing them back. Finally, when enemies manage to reach melee distance, he spins like a top, striking them with his many arms.

Image
Mamagon: Mamagon generates an energy field that nerfs enemy units. Any "child" units (Minya, Chibi Godzilla, Chibi Godzilla & Chibi Mechagodzilla, the Dorats, Mothra Larva, Battra Larva, etc) will suffer severe damage when in contact with Mamagon's field. Once enemy units get close enough, she attacks with her arms and tail.

Why not just add giant human characters so they can add the hippie and his corn cob?

Worthy choices. I vote for captain gordon, nick adams, and that hobo from Return of Godzilla.

Everytime Nick Adams beats a unit, he shouts "YOU DIRTY STINKING RATS!"

Does anyone have any idea on the new units next month? I’ve seen talk of it either being Terror of Mechagodzilla or Son of Godzilla themed… personally I’d really like kumonga to appear in some form but I know Titanosaurus has been requested for awhile now.

I'm thinking Titanosaurus. I hope he uses his fan tail to push back units.

N.I.G.E.L (GTS):

Essentially a faster, ground version of the Shinden with the same cost. When attacked, it deploys a shock prod to stun enemy units as it makes it way to the leader, like the Gotengo. Like the Shinden, it also has two free invulnerabilities before it explodes and makes the robotic "AHHHHHHHHHHH" like in the show.

GMK Goji getting some buffs. Maybe Mothra and Baragon for the next season? They must be getting jitters from not having a Mothra unit in so long.

Hopefully. We are apparently getting a military strike effect piece from Shin Godzilla, so maybe my idea of a jet airstrike isn’t too far off.

Looks like my days of running Showa Gamera and his amazing friends are coming to a close. The Taba piece will mow them down like wheat.

The Mothra 1961 unit looks cool, but I'm kinda disappointed the fully hatched Mothra is roughly the same size as all the other Mothras. I was hoping she'd be noticeably larger, since Mothra '61 is friggin' huge compared to the other incarnations.

Given how puny Keizer Ghidorah looks in the game, it's not too surprising. Still, I've seen a few sick plays with Mothra, particularly using her cocoon form as a quick meat shield to preoccupy certain single-target heavy hitters... Delta Ultima seems pretty menacing, though. The new Taba unit isn't any slouch, either.

Sure. But at the same time, Godzilla Earth.

Besides, if they weren't gonna make her huge, then why go for Mothra '61 at all? Her size is the only thing that makes her unique among the other versions.

I surprisingly haven't seen Operation Taba in action yet, somehow.

I'm guessing they likely had the idea for the cocoon gimmick (where it acts as a field distraction) and wanted to have a Mothra to use it for. Given that, I could see why they went with Mothra 1961, as it making a cocoon on a toppled Tokyo Tower is probably the most iconic.

She is the dustiest of the Mothras. The cocoon looks dusty, the moth model looks dusty, and she attacks with, you guessed it, dust. Between the ol’ dusty moth and Ultima, July 2025 on Battle Line is the season of dust.

I actually like her in practice, but I couldn’t help but think of cobwebs looking at her model.

I'll cross post this on Reddit too, but thought it would be a fun exercise to see what characters are left from Godzilla Defense Force that haven't been released in Godzilla Battle Line.

Probably not too surprising, but a lot of them are from the Showa series or Godzilla: Final Wars. The latter is not too shocking as Defense Force was really heavy with GFW representation, to the point that it featured Mothra 2004 over Mothra 2003 despite them having more or less the same design and the latter appearing much more prominently in Godzilla: Tokyo SOS.

Anyway, not advocating for all of these to be added, in fact hoping we don't see some of them like I don't think we need Mothra 1996 when her design is so close to Mothra 1992.

1996 could be a duo unit with the larva.
