They posted a "Coming Soon" tease with a Minus One promo, I'm 95% positive it's Train Biter.

So I recently got one of the Super Kaiju G'89 figures from a collectibles shop, while on a visit.
The price was only $25 so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Honestly, credit where credit is due, it is better than I expected.
Decent articulation, decent enough sculpt, pretty solid feeling little figure.
It looks a lot like the Ultimates! sculpt, shrunken down, which feels like it works better at a smaller scale. Kind of like a slightly larger, slightly more realistic, and more articulated Reaction figure.
Pleasantly pleased, especially at the price I was able to get it at.

Having said that, I still would not pay $35 for these, and after getting the Bandai articulated G'91... I don't think I will be getting any more of the S7 versions at all. The Bandai G'91 is just better in every way.

Of course I don't think I'm really "all-in" on the Bandai figures either.
These are kind like the Ultimates! figures, in general, for me.
Not a scale I was looking for, and nothing that could replace (or really even compliment) the other lines I already collect.
In a market currently FULL of product to chose from, I don't really have the available space, even if I did feel inclined to try and buy everything. As a little one-off though, that doesn't really take up much space, and can kind of fit in here or there, they're not too bad.

Yeah, if I like a sculpt, I may go for it across a few lines, but having every item in a line doesn't appeal to me as an accomplishment anymore.

So now we have a Minus One Charging on Card

*trying to discern if its different than the blind box version. Knowing S7 it probably is, ever so slightly. Seems like the carded version has a straight tail whereas the Blind Box has a curved tail

So, not sure if I mentioned this before, but when Target zeroes out stock (post-clearance, usually), it goes to salvage, which means another company has bought it (sometimes by the pound), and gets to sell it at liquidation prices.

One of the main companies that does this has a profile on eBay called Bullseye Deals. They will list new, shopworn, and sometimes open box, items from Target en masse. That includes Super7 items. Listings come and go, but noticed these, and wondered if anyone would have interest.

'89 G Super Kaiju
https://www.ebay.com/itm/205241492585 Used

'93 MG Super Kaiju
https://www.ebay.com/itm/205048686658 Used
https://www.ebay.com/itm/186731734090 New
https://www.ebay.com/itm/187238061499 New/Accepts best offer (probably won't)

They've had burning, and the train-biter, and lots of other things like Transformers too. You just have to check every so often.

Note: Those listed as "Used" could be, so accept that at the least, but quite often they are new but open. "New" usually means sealed, but don't expect immaculate boxes on any condition though (although sometimes you may luck out there too).

^ Thank You. Probably a great option for some. I'm not int these toys, which is probably why I see them at most Targets. Unlike the ReAction line, these having the advantage of being sponsored directly by Target get mush better distribution.

Just wanted to share some interesting stats about the Godzilla ReAction line to date

133 General Releases
30 unique molds (not counting partial retools)

Most Used:

Shogun Godzilla (20 times)
Mechagodzilla Showa (12.5 times)
Marusan Godzilla (11 times)
Minus One Godzilla (9 times)
Original 1954 Godzilla (7 times)

There are several with multiple uses 5, 4 etc

Least Used:

Shogun Rodan (2)
Minya/Minilla (2)
Showa Mothra adult form (2)
55 Godzilla (2)
Mogera (2)
Celebration Godzilla 65 (2)
Godzilla 1964 (1)
King Caesar (1)
Titanosaurus (1)
89 Godzilla (1)
93 Heisei MG (1)

I’ve got the Shogun Rodan and love it; no clue what they could do in regards to other variants but for how many Shogun Godzilla colorways they have you’d think they’d have given us at least something to go with them by now.

Still hoping we get an Ultimates Shogun Rodan or some other cool non-Minus One items (nothing against Minus One but the Super7 product hasn’t been of interest to me). Super7 mentioned doing a Q&A on IG a few weeks back but this was right before they announced their layoffs and I’m fairly certain they’ve ghosted in regards to the responses at this point.

It's not that they ghosted, it's that the actual Q&A results were so very underwhelming.

Thanks for the link- I didn’t get any notification that they even answered some.

Definitely a bit of a disappointing Q&A. Especially when they wasted two of the few questions that they posted with joke answers about Mummy Boy. I know they acknowledge that they look at the feedback but this just kind of feels like they don’t take it seriously.

I enjoy the Shogun Rodan ReAction as well. I would have thought a glow variant would be a guarantee, but usually, glow variants follow within a year of the initial release. As for an Ultimates release, I think it would be amazing. Still, unlike the Shogun Godzilla (which is itself a greatly stylized reimaginging of the Popy Jumbo Machinder Godzilla, made for the western market), the Mattel Shogun Rodan was wholly original to the best of my knowledge. The Ultimates Shogun Godzilla has been released in multiple colorways. A potential Shogun Rodan has fewer reuse possibilities, which is probably why it hasn't been made, which is a shame, but understandable.

Well it seems like the Target exclusive window for the Minus One Blind Boxes is up:

https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/ ... ils/325004

The S7 site is also having a 25% off sale on certain items and apparel. The only Godzilla related item however seems to be the Glow Megalon ReAction.

^Great interview as always. Thanks for taking the time 8-)

Now I just have to go to all of my Targets and measure their collector walls j/k . Seriously though, I think part of the problem is that many Target stores have been remodeling, and reducing their collector spaces, at least in my area. So despite having a dozen stores close by, think most of them have the 4/8 ft sections. I dont think any of them have the 12/16 foot walls anymore. Also some have been moving the collector items to the main toy aisles which makes things confusing. But the Super Kaiju figures are plentiful, just the ReAction Blind Boxes and even ones on card are elusive.

Also the tip about Phantom inventory and asking the employees to "zero out" the inventory was very helpful. I experienced this many times. Will see if it yields results when future Blind Boxes come out.

Lastly I'm going to need the unredacted versions of the video with those 2 comments Brian made ;) .

Can't wait for the rest of the reveals for SDCC. Thanks again for all your time and efforts.

So, Brian uses a gauge of stores based on collectibles sections, but that doesn't cover all store sizes. Unfortunately, there are stores without those sections at all, and even variation of store size among them. Most unfortunate for me is that, despite swimming in Targets locally, approximately 70% of my local stores are of those non-collectibles section types, and what few had the varying size of sections have "flexed" out other toys/games merchandise into them; essentially indicating the deprecation of the section, or just repurposing it totally.

On top of that, the phantom inventory issue has been a known one for some time. A couple years back I actually bought and returned a couple TFs from one store to another to force a restock at the first store. It didn't work for the items I had hoped would appear, but it had the potential to. It's just unfortunate that is how little control a store, or even its manager, has over what is carried there, and replenishment. Add that Target assigns their own SKUs to entire waves of disparate items, or reuse the same ones (like for S7 Blind Boxes), and you begin to understand the nightmare that exists for a S7 fan shopping at Target for specific items. Even surrounded by stores, resorting to scalpers on eBay is just as attractive as to the customer in a town with no local Target at all.

What Brian noticeably skirted on the inventory issue, was that the prime reason for listed but non-existent stock is shoplifting. It's a sad state of affairs, but it's viewed by some employees I've talked with as "self-correcting" since restocks won't occur on highly stolen merchandise due to this process. Just sad, and a barrier to those who actually want to buy the stuff.

Would love to nab that Dark Horse Godzilla! Still hoping it shows up as a ReAction figure, too.
