Hello Everyone!
I haven't posted anything on this site for the past month, however I've finally had some down time (and passion) to post something of my own. Since April of this year, I became enamored with the idea of doing a "fan remake" of sorts on the original 1933 King Kong, of course with some differences. Not only that, I was inspired by various stop motion animators, such as Ray Harryhausen, Jim Danforth, Richard Svensson, and of course, Willis O'Brien. Since then, I've been spending a good portion of my time writing a screenplay, budgeting, conceptualizing designs for the creatures, among other things, and I hope to document the production of this film onto this section of the forums!

How will you make it? You will have to work hard to convince people to give you the money you need. Either, that or you can wait until AI gets to the point where it can generate something decent.
Either that or you could keep it as a fanfic of sorts.

Back from the dead and... not really making the most of it, honestly.

1. Back in late May, seeing as I was/am still in school, I decided to "take advantage of my surroundings" in a sense and try to convince the head of the theatre program at my school to help with the project (it's safe to say that she's fully on board with it).
2. God willingly, I do want to use crowdfunding as a means to fund the film, but I'd rather finish the screenplay and possibly do a short test film before attempting to do so. In my opinion, as an artist, using AI would defile the legacies of anyone who worked on the original, O'Brien especially.
3. By fanfic, do you mean just a remake of the film in written format?

Maybe in it's current form, AI can't quite cut it, but give it a couple of years, you won't be able to tell the difference. Also, yes, I am refering to written form posted on something like fanficiton.net.Grand Seijin wrote: ↑Mon Jun 16, 2025 9:19 am In my opinion, as an artist, using AI would defile the legacies of anyone who worked on the original, O'Brien especially.

No one gives a shit. Stop ramming AI down everyone’s throats, especially when they already explained an easily understandable reason to why they take issue with using it.LegendZilla wrote: ↑Mon Jun 16, 2025 8:54 pm Maybe in it's current form, AI can't quite cut it, but give it a couple of years, you won't be able to tell the difference.
