Who Would You Want As The Second Monster in the Next Yamazaki Godzilla Film?
Who Would be Cool ? I think any of these monsters are good potential for the next story Takashi Yamazaki makes. Hopefully it's something like Godzilla Minus One.

My vote goes for Anguirus. Maybe toss in Rodan as well as a surprise third monster so that it’s not just a mere re-tread of GRA. I respect Yamazaki’s desire to include Hedorah, but I don’t think now’a the time due to budgetary and technical imitations.

Rodan and/or Hedorah should get it. Rodan has been disrespected for so long he barely counts as part of the Big Five anymore. My boy deserves a movie where he actually holds his own against Godzilla and gets some real screen time instead of being treated like a jobber. Obviously, I'd love to see Hedorah return if she was done well, and I trust Yamazaki to do a good job much more than I trust the MonsterVerse, plus he's actually expressed interest, which is pretty awesome. I would also not be opposed to both Rodan and Hedorah appearing. I don't want a kaiju-overstuffed movie but three is manageable.
Speaking of which, I'm not at all opposed to Anguirus appearing but I wouldn't want him being Godzilla's lone opponent because, let's be honest, he IS a jobber. Were he to be a "starter opponent" with Rodan or Hedorah as the main adversary to Godzilla, that would be okay. Mothra would be fine too, if a bit overused. Baragon or Varan are unlikely, but I'm open to them in the same capacity as Anguirus. Depending how much forward we jump in time, a retro Mechagodzilla could be cool. Biollante would be a pleasant surprise.
The one and only plausible kaiju who I absolutely, 200% don't want to see is Ghidorah. In fact, I will lose a lot of excitement for the movie if I see a three-headed shadow in the teaser.

Yeah, and if Rodan is ever done again anywhere, I'd really like to see a new version of the scene from Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster where Rodan grabs Godzilla in his talons, carries him for a considerable distance, and then drops him down on the ground. In that film, at least, Rodan and Godzilla were evenly matched, just like King Kong and Godzilla were in King Kong vs. Godzilla once Kong was struck by lightning during their second fight.HedorahIsBestGirl wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 7:21 am Rodan and/or Hedorah should get it. As much as I love Rodan, I voted for Varan. Toho really needs to put him in another movie ASAP. It's time for Varan to make a glorious comeback on the big screen.

Re: Who Would You Want As The Second Monster in the Next Yamazaki Godzilla Film?
I'd go for Rodan, Hedorah and Gigan, but I settled on Hedorah. Rodan seems like a very appropriately "classic" choice, and I think the monster really deserves a full-on reimagining, considering he's about as famous as Godzilla, but rarely seems to make much of an impact these days. Hedorah's obvious, it'd also well match the -1 universe, and beyond that, we all just wanna see him again with snazzy modern graphics. Gigan's a pipedream but I could definitely see him fitting with some creative reimagining - I'm always a fan of monsters with large personalities, and Gigan's always fit that bill. It'd have to be a very, very different version of the character but I think there's potential - make him some kind of man-made reanimated Kaiju corpse.
Anguirus is also pretty likely, but he seems too... obvious? Plus, in the famous (paraphrased) words of Mr. West, Toho does not care about Anguirus. Titanosaurus is also a perfect fit, but let's be real. Not gonna happen.

How about Anguirus, Rodan, and Varan? All the 1950s monsters.CrimsonBloodX wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 9:44 am As much as I love Rodan, I voted for Varan. Toho really needs to put him in another movie ASAP. It's time for Varan to make a glorious comeback on the big screen.

Went with Anguirus and Rodan. While the former would give a chance to see a "reboot" of Raids Again (of sorts) with modern day technology while simultaneously following on Minus One's plot if this is another sequel, frankly, Godzilla and Rodan having an entire movie were they go one on one and very overdue.
Hedorah would be great too tho

I'd love to see Anguirus in the next film, but I don't see that happening.
Rodan or Hedorah sound like strong contenders. As a member of the 5, Rodan is recognizable and offers up some good destruction scenes. Hedorah is always relevant, especially with current environmental concerns. In addition, without the limits of a suit, Hedorah could look very interesting.

Whoever shows up in the next film, they should go on a rampage in Kyoto, which was intentionally sparred from the bombings during WW2. It will be like how the last movie go over how Ginza was left unaffected by the bombing.

Anguirus, love that spiky boi and he needs some modern high level exposure.
I unapologetically, wholeheartedly, and without a doubt hate Godzilla vs Kong.

That's actually a really cool idea. Keep with the theme of Godzilla fucking up things that have withstood every other adversity. I'm curious when this movie will actually take place though. Maybe they'll do a time jump and move on from the post war theme. Would be kinda cool to see Minus Goji rampage through 80s Japan.LegendZilla wrote: ↑Mon Mar 17, 2025 9:12 pm Whoever shows up in the next film, they should go on a rampage in Kyoto, which was intentionally sparred from the bombings during WW2.
