A long time ago, I saw someone on Deviantart make a backstory about his species being introduced to Skull Island and selectively bred to become bigger.Al Diplodocus wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 1:57 pm HWYFA if rather then being naturally evolved, King Kong (and inded other creatures he lives/fights with) was created by genticaly manipulation, Jurassic Park style?

The Gigantopithecus was a big ape, and I could see human tinkering or selective breeding driving that size upwards. It's a fresh and interesting take on Kong and the creatures he lives with.Al Diplodocus wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 1:57 pm HWYFA if rather then being naturally evolved, King Kong (and inded other creatures he lives/fights with) was created by genticaly manipulation, Jurassic Park style?

HWYFA another Godzilla movie that shares continuity with the original 1954 film? The last movie to do that was Tokyo S.O.S.

I mean even the Peter Jackson Kong's ancillary media suggests that Kong's species were transplanted there by the island original inhabitants.LegendZilla wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 4:22 pmA long time ago, I saw someone on Deviantart make a backstory about his species being introduced to Skull Island and selectively bred to become bigger.Al Diplodocus wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 1:57 pm HWYFA if rather then being naturally evolved, King Kong (and inded other creatures he lives/fights with) was created by genticaly manipulation, Jurassic Park style?

I feel like they probably don't do another g'54 "sequel" for a long time. I might be wrong, but I feel like the movie's a lot more revered and held as the golden standard these days, to the point where even an indirect sequel would be weird, especially if it didn't match the original's intensity and such. Shin / Minus One could've probably worked as '54 follow-ups, but I think the fact they didn't choose to do that says something

I see what you mean. Still, it would be neat to see another alternate sequel as long as they do respect the tone and theme of the original film, like what they did in The Return of Godzilla and GMK. I do think that Toho should wait a long time before doing that, though.Mechagigan wrote: ↑Sat Mar 08, 2025 5:59 pm I feel like they probably don't do another g'54 "sequel" for a long time. Maybe we could get a long line of direct standalone sequels to Minus One. That movie could be used as the starting point for multiple new continuities going forward.CrimsonBloodX wrote: ↑Sat Mar 08, 2025 8:52 pmI see what you mean. In addition, we could get an alternate Heisei timeline that ignores everything from '91-95 and start where GVB left off.

HWYFI :
1. Toho established an entire Godzilla theme park? Think Disneyland/Disney World only for Godzilla
2. The Rugrats featured a parody of G-Fest, called R-Fest?
3. A human character in the form of an overworked salaryman? It would be a good way to explore Japan's often toxic work-culture and how the presence of kaiju will have on it.
4. They scanned what was left of old suits from past eras to help create CG models?

1. There is an anime theme park in Japan with a section dedicated to Godzilla. However, Toho could make some good profit if they had their own.LegendZilla wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 8:18 pm HWYFI :

3. I think that could make for a good story.
4. Even if the scans aren't used for film, it's a good way to preserve what is left of the suits.

1. Would go to immidiately, though I wiuldn't mind if it was more broadly a Toho or Kaiju themed one.LegendZilla wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 8:18 pm HWYFI :

it'd be awesome to see the suits preserved that way. i'm always kind of shocked to see them right there, front and center on display, in front of hundreds of passing people - doesn't seem like that's very good for such fragile costumes.

- Toho rescinding their illogical rule American adaptations can't have Godzilla lose? Frankly, its dumb now that g98 and Roland are well behind them.
- Godzilla or some other kaiju got trapped in a trawler net?

-That'd be sad and hit home I think. It's tragic when that happens to real animals. Something similar to that happened in Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah when Terasawa reads a newspaper article that says a plesiosaur was fished out of the ocean. Irl it was a decomposing basking shark but in the Heisei era I headcanon that it's definitely a plesiosaur.
Could be a cool scene as well, if the kaiju overwhelms fishermen catching it

HWYFI :
1. Koichi Shikishima was appointed to a position of authority within the newly-established JSDF in the next Yamazaki film? He will fill a supporting role similar to Kuroki in GvB with the plot focusing on a new main character.
2. Cillian Murphy made a guest cameo as Oppenheimer in the next film or the one after?
3. Rodan could regurgitate superheated lava as a weapon?
4. One of the films in a hypothetical Yamazaki trilogy got nominated for best picture?
