I turned 36 yesterday. I had to work, but it was a good day anyhow. A good dinner, cheesecake, and a way crazier haul of presents than I expected:

A new Xbox controller (my old one had terrible stick drift and I couldn't play any of the precision characters on Overwatch. I took the new one for a test drive, and the first three shots I fired were Widowmaker headshot kills. 8-) I've probably never done that before and will probably never do it again)

And a pile of books:

The Secret History of Bigfoot
Cryptids, Creatures, and Critters
Dragons & Mythical Creatures
True Irish Ghost Stories
The United States of Cryptids
Dinosaurs: Prehistoric Life From Dinosaurs to Humans
The New Dinosaur Encyclopedia

Happy belated birthday, sounds like a great one! Would love to hear how the books are!

Thanks, everybody! :huge: JVM, I'll post book reviews in the "what are you reading" thread as I go. I will say that I've actually read Dragons and Mythical Creatures before. My youngest brother had a different edition of it when he was little, and I used to read it to him all the time. It's a kids' book, but pretty decent and informative; I learned a fair bit from it about obscure monsters from all over the world. If the Godzilla and Mothra entries are anything to go by, the information might not always be especially accurate, but it's good for a basic introduction to the subjects. I'll definitely flip through it again.

It might also be of interest to you that I'm in the planning stages of another zoo visit for this weekend, probably Saturday. Assuming the weather holds and nothing else gets in the way, of course. Maybe Knoxville, but that's far enough away to be impractical at best. More likely Atlanta again or Chattanooga for the first time. I'll let you know how/if it goes!

I'll keep a better eye on the Reading thread - neat they had Godzilla and Mothra entries! Definitely keep me posted about the zoo trip too!
