I'm going to stop coming here if people are going to keep falling for every stupid "leak" some dumbass somewhere makes up years before the movie even comes out.

1. Look at the thread name.
2. We like discussing fakes too.
3. Its not even a full sized leak and is changing and being updated in real time, as would the actual screenplay be, which leads me to believe its from discussions surrounding the development. I have people who know the person who is the source monitoring the "situation". Earlier events notwithstanding, if I find out anything substantial, I talk about it here lol. So far I havent heard anyone say anything that makes it seem like a ruse, yet.
4. Even if not for all that, the info still has a chance of being real regardless since it comes from a person with a proven track record of reliable information. Whether that record remains unblemished after this is another story entirely.
5. Cmon man, dont be a buzz kill.

Me? I just hope it turns out real, I would loathe to find out none of this happens and my dreams for the MV once again are crushed. It doesnt have everything I want, but it's on the right track to getting there!

Every time Junior appears in a series Godzilla evolves as a character in the stories and we get to see other sides of him. If we do indeed get Junior, its safe to assume he will soon express himself in new ways.

Godzilla and Junior being together is something I'll have to see in action to be excited about, whenever that may be.

Godzilla being 'fed up' with humanity would have excited me if it didn't feel cyclical. Every MV film is mostly humanity fucking up and Godzilla being pissed off. Could be cool.

I don't think MV Godzilla has ever been pissed with humans specifically, more so just pissed in general. A large scale city destruction sequence would be really cool ngl

The more I've thought about it, the more interested I am to see what this next movie will be like tonally (both storywise/emotionally and visually). I'm personally a fan of the goofy/silly stuff, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974), Ghidorah: The Three Headed Monster, and Godzilla Final Wars are all more my style of Godzilla movie and probably rank as my favorites. With this is in mind, I enjoyed Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong (to a lesser extent) because they both embraced this tone more than the rest of the Monsterverse films.

That being said, while I enjoy that goofy factor, I don't think it'll ever work as well with the CGI Monsterverse films as it does with suitmation. There's almost an inherent nature of suitmation that makes goofy just work with it, like a peanut butter and jelly combination. You can see this recently even, with the Godzilla Fest shorts. The sheer silly joy portrayed in those through suitmation/practical effects is something I find GvK nor GxK come anywhere near. I think part of it is an old school charm, another part of it is that faster paced/human movements just work when it's literally a dude inside of a suit. It's cheesy, good natured, and just has almost soul lifting feelings attached to it (for me at least).

I guess what I'm saying overall is, that while I personally enjoy goofy/silly Godzilla media, for the Monsterverse in particular, I'm down to have a tonal shift back towards dark/serious. I don't mean grimdark/edgy, but something more in line perhaps with 2014, K:SI, or even KOTM (minus the terrible humor). The ONLY thing I ask, is even if that shift is made, and an emotional/compelling human story is crafted, I beg for the monster action to maintain the quality that Godzilla vs. Kong delivered. You can have them move slower, have a greater sense of scale/weight, more horror of destruction, etc. I just want nice wide shots, little to no digital noise, and long choreographed sequences that's just the monsters (whether they're destroying stuff, fighting, just walking around, etc.). If that gets delivered, I'll be a happy camper.

I definitely think they'll lean more seriously the GxK but not too much since Dan Stevens is coming back and I don't see them making his character less fun so hopefully they can do something similar like what Steven Spielberg did with Ian Malcolm in The Lost World Jurassic Park.

I highly doubt it will be as serious as Godzilla 2014. I think it will fall somewhere in the middle between KOTM & GvK (especially if Trapper & Suko are returning).

I doubt it as well. I don't understand why people would expect the next film to be "grounded" like I've seen some outside of these boards hope for. This is while considering that the last four three MV films have repeatedly overstepped that point by now.

If anything, we're probably getting a mix like you suggested. Just enough seriousness for it to separate itself from the last two entries, maybe.

I don't think anyone is expecting it to go back to G14 levels of seriousness especially with Dan Stevens coming back but all I can say or want is that Grant Sputore should go for his own vibe.
