As the game is now in Season 2, a few new characters have joined the roster since the last post!
"Sounds Like Inevitability."
"It is Time."
"What's My Name."
Some updates to the game as well, mainly restoring options/features from the Beta that were oddly missing in the full release, such as turning off team colors, increasing the amount of XP you get from winning matches, and restoring all characters (even currently locked ones) to Training and Local, among various other features.

An earlier build of his model was even worse.Kingu Gojira54 wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 7:10 amWhy is Jason so jacked? He is literally built bigger that Superman.

I dunno, the character selection seems all over the place with this game. I've heard of some characters being confirmed via leaks and datamines, only for some to be cancelled, and some to come back around to being confirmed again. Godzilla could get in since WB distributes the MonsterVerse, or he could get in as a guest character, or he might not come in at all, as apparently the Iron Giant has been a nightmare for the devs to balance. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.Godzillakuj94 wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 9:20 amAny word on Godzilla getting into this after all this time? Or do u think he got canned?

Well, it doesn't sound like he'll be getting in now at all, unfortunately.Godzillakuj94 wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 9:20 amAny word on Godzilla getting into this after all this time? Or do u think he got canned?

So, as I'm sure everyone's heard by now, MultiVersus has announced that it's ending service after Season 5, which started a few days ago. Sounds like the game's various problems, which Player First Games either didn't address, or took too long to, finally caught up with it, and as a result it underperformed too much for Warner Bros' liking. The game's final characters are Aquaman and Lola Bunny, and once the season ends on May 30th, you'll be able to play it offline "for the foreseeable future," whatever that means (though you'll need to redownload it in order to do so, or something? You might want to double check, if you're interested).
While there's nothing confirmed at the moment, based on all the gossip and rumors going around, it sounds like behind the scenes of the game was an unfortunate case of unearned ego from the game's director, combined with not actually having a concrete plan on how to add characters (or even which characters to add to begin with) and possibly some studio interference from Warner Bros (which wouldn't surprise anyone). There are some rumors saying there are actually a fair amount of characters (including Daffy Duck, Scooby-Doo, the Wicked Witch of the West, and Mordecai from Regular Show) that are basically complete and ready to go, but that PFG was "saving them for a rainy day." Various other characters, such as Godzilla, Barbie, Poison Ivy, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Gandalf, Freddy Krueger, and Scorpion from Mortal Kombat were seemingly considered, but no real work was started on them. Apparently Godzilla and other oversized characters were abandoned once balancing the Iron Giant became a programming nightmare for PFG. Some people are theorizing that this is just one big game of 5D Chess, that Warner Bros wants the game but doesn't want the current director/crew connected to it, so this is just a move by WB to get rid of them so they can start anew, but unfortunately, I don't think that's the case, as nice as that might be.
Personally, I'm sad to see MultiVersus go. Yes it was flawed and had so, so many problems that needed fixing, but at its heart it was a fun and unique concept. It's willingness to combine kid-friendly and adult franchises is something that will never be seen again, I don't think, at least not any time soon. It had an amazing voice cast, and hearing the characters actually refer to each other by name and shit-talk each other was almost just as much of a draw as the fighting was. And man, I think I'll always mourn the vast possibilities of characters that never came to be. We could've had WB animated characters like Daffy Duck; Yakko, Wakko, and Dot; and Freakazoid. We could've had Cartoon Network characters like Johnny Bravo, Dexter, and Courage. We could've had horror characters like Freddy Krueger, Pennywise, and Audrey II. We could've had characters from so many different Warner Bros movies like Ace Ventura, Austin Powers, Willy Wonka, Buddy the Elf, the Mask, Barbie, Furiosa, King Leonidas, Harry Potter, Gandalf, Sloth from The Goonies, and Emmet from The LEGO Movie. Hell, we could've had Steve freakin' Urkel.

Re: MultiVersus: Stars Collide. Pies Fly.
Thanks for the update. It's sometimes hard to follow these sorts of games as a non-player (I've wanted to play it, just kept putting off) because meta can be overwhelming so much. It's a real shame WB is pulling the plug. During the beta, the buzz seemed extremely positive but actual launch seemed to go so poorly, which is especially interesting and makes me wonder if the game was a victim of that process more than the game itself? I agree the adult and kid franchises side by side is something we won't get to see again in this day and age.
I used to be a lot more optimistic and outgoing, believe it or not. I used to actually be passionate about this stuff.
