Just because an idea was used in a movie that didn’t quite work doesn’t mean you can’t try it again.

Keep your fetishes to yourself. ;)

In all seriousness, should the sequel be direct (similar cast, not too much of a time jump), I expect Noriko to play an important role, or perhaps be the “textbook case” of a more serious ongoing issue.

David Lynch died the other day. It got me thinking a lot about Twin Peaks the Return versus Twin Peaks Season 1/2. The Return/Season 3, really didn’t give fans what they think they wanted, and while their were nostalgic moments and leans into things wanted out of the original show, it was ultimately its own thing.

I bring this up, because I hope whatever Yamazaki comes up with isn’t too inspired by other things, and leans too much into nostalgia.

Minus One avoids this, mostly, but there’s hints of it and I hope it doesn’t aim that way, like something like Romulus. Give us new shit. Yamazaki has already “proved himself”.

^What's your idea of what should happen with Noriko? I remember someone suggesting that she will spread a disease or something mundane like that.

Only if she names the child Shin Minus Goji and it starts off like Kamata-kun.

If anything I think my scientific research should be based around the recovered Godzilla cells and their applications for humanity with Noriko being a major focus of that.

Yeah, I wasn't sure what that meant, either. But I decided maybe it's better to leave whatever that thought was in the bottle, judging by the rest of this page.

No need to worry, not many understand the comparisons and even fewer understand Gamera 3's shortcomings were hilariously done better by a mediocre Godzilla movie in hollywood.

How is that the plot of Godzilla vs. Kong? They actively try to keep Kong away from Godzilla, and Mechagodzilla is depicted as a very bad idea from the moment it's introduced. Neither really fits the "Iris" role.

I've compiled a comprehensive list of everything that the MonsterVerse films do better than Kaneko's Gamera trilogy:

I know people get territorial with Godzilla designs but I like this concept for -1 Godzilla.

I would LOVE to see something like this for the sequel. Hellish looking.

I've seen that going around, but what is the original source?

It could be real, but aside from being cartoonish compared to what we got, what surprises me is how different it is from the precursor, Yamazaki's design for the Godzilla ride, which is remarkably close to Minus One Goji.

Eh, it's a little too try-hard. The Minusgoji we actually got proved that the design doesn't have to be overly monstrous for Godzilla to be intimidating.

I don't know where it comes from but it looks like it is based off of the concept art they showed off a long time ago.

Might be some kind of AI or Zbrush thing from a fan.

Yeah I'd prefer that they don't change the design I think it's perfect as a classic yet modern look for Godzilla I'd just make his movement appear less robotic sorta like how that Tokyo building short film did. Now if this next film is not connected to Minus 1 then I would go for a different design.

I'd love if they take the design to more extremes - I really miss the giant head and empty eyes of the Third Street design. I think a less obviously Heisei look would do a lot to make the design be more interesting, and stand on its own.

Isn’t the guy just a heart right now, they’re definitely looking at selling a new set of toys, so I’d expect a total redesign. I’d also expect it to be much more ghoulish than the predecessor, similar to the 3D concept art above. I’d also love to see a Godzilla with missing spines, which that design seems to show.
