Iiiiit's trivia tiiiiiiime. This one's a twofor!

Godzilla Earth vs. Serpentera

This one started just from me trying to find a good opponent that actually matched Earth size wise, though the plot itself was a bit more unorthodox. I was thinking since Godzilla was supposed to be the avatar of Earth, it would be a good experiment to see him try roaming a planet that obviously wasn't his own. I guess Zedd doesn't have an exact homeworld, so I just said "screw it, I'll set it on some Toho owned planet" and went with Peaceland.

It's a bit important to note that for my matches in general, I.. don't really map out exactly what I want to do with the story beyond the beginning and sometimes the end. The entire ending with
Spoiler:
Ghidorah orchestrating the entire thing
was actually a last minute decision. Glad I made it though!

Gigantis vs. Agon

The general concept of Godzilla vs. One of his parodies/clones/predators was something I wanted make a K.W.C.E match for a good while. I eventually picked Agon after doing some research on him and actually finding out he had a bit more history with Toho than most (namely, they blocked his show from being aired for a straight seven years  ) and thought Gigantis matched the classic "black and white monster" asthetic he did. Setting the fight in Area 51 came from another general concept of a Monarch esc. organization holding all its kaiju in a singular facility instead of spreading them across the globe, and the potential consequences of that. I flip-flopped through locations and where exactly the fight would be set, but eventually said "Well, for a plot like this, it might as well be a place already famous for potentially hiding crazy supernatural/extraterrestrial life", and Area 51 had a card, so....

I recall one earlier version I had set in in Janjira, and instead of the explosion going off via bombs, it would have happened because the fighting caused all the power plants to melt down and implode on themselves. Keep that bit in mind, because it'll probably prop back up again in some future match of mine. ;)

Some of you guys were asking if the characters were from any pre-existing material. They're not! They're all OCs I came up with after watching a bunch of 50's era B-movies. Though Herbert in particular was based off C-3PO from Star Wars. They were all fun to write with, and I definitely hope to expand upon them later. And yes, there is going to be sequels to this match sometime in the future. They're gonna expand upon the character's new lives and go deeper into the backstory of everyone (Herbet's origins and the alien's teamwork with the U.S definitely so), though will still take place mostly in the 50's-60'5. No timeframe for when the first one will come out, but keep an eye out!

A guy who randomly stumbled upon this place one day, invested much too much time into it, and now appears to be stuck here for all eternity..and strangely enough, i do not regret it!

Here is a p interesting of my most recent match

Tyrant Vs Birdon
Spoiler:
The original ending had Tyrant charge blindly towards Birdon, only for the latter to fly out of his way and make him fall off a cliff. Tyrant would have died by breaking his neck on the fall, but I decided to change that since it felt oddly spiteful to Tyrant lol

Also, originally Tyrant would have died almost inmediately after going berserk, but I wanted him to get a few licks in before suffering the heart attack.

And finally, Tyrant's death was in part inspired by the OG Red King! Specifically the final death throes he does before succumbing

Born to keep going.

Lots to talk about with my latest match!

Godzilla (Showa) & Megalon vs Tyrant (Showa)
Spoiler:

The match was pretty dark, and got much darker as it went on. But the original match was supposed to be much lighter, and even almost comedic. It would have had Godzilla and Megalon fight Baltan, Dada, Icarus, Nackle and Babarue. This is referenced in one line of Temperor’s segment at the beginning of the match.

Tyrant is largely based on his Taro incarnation, with emphasis on just how powerful and unstoppable he is. This is a side of Tyrant that is often forgotten, I feel. The dude beat Zoffy, Ultraman, Seven, Jack and Ace like it was nothing.

Tyrant being the victor was always the intent, but Megalon was planned to live. I even had him in the banner of the third match to this trilogy. Megalon was killed off to show how brutal Tyrant is, and because I couldn’t really realistically conceive a way for him to live. Godzilla was fucked up horribly, but at least he has regen to save him. Megalon doesn’t.

Seven, Taro and Mebius get name dropped in the buildup to the sequel because they’re all my favourite Ultramen, along with Ultraman himself. However, others were in consideration, notably Dyna, Ace and even Zero at one point.

Mothra shows up as Godzilla’s pal and was supposed to originally bring Anguirus and Rodan as well. The two guys would be left to ponder as Godzilla, Ultraman and Mothra fly into space where they would just be super confused.

Spoiler:
KWCE Spidember Match: Little Kong and Skullcrawler vs. Queen Quake Spider

The original idea for this idea wss actually two ideas. One that took place in the Land Before Time universe and an idea with Kong that hadn't been completed but did take place in the cave. It had Sharptooth featured as a main focus. Eventually, combining the ideas led to what we got now.

Ok trivia time for my Spidember Match. Rattler and Yellowback vs Queen Quake Spider. I know the match was very long, but I really got into writing it and making the story, that was around the monsters fighting, to be something different for a KWCE.

That being said, I made the story as a tribute/sequel to the Scott Ciencin characters that were in the young reader Godzilla books that were in the 90's. Godzilla Invades America, Godzilla vs The Space Monster, and Godzilla Journey to Monster Island. I grew up with those books, as well as the other ones like Robot Monsters, 2000, and At Worlds End too. But not too long ago I read the Ciencin had passed away at a fairly young age. And it does seem that not a lot of fans have read those books, or even talk about them. The much longer adult ones with Marc Cerasini get the most attention. Now those books are better just because of their mature storytelling and sheer length. But the Ciencin ones are not bad either. They were just written for a different audience.

Anyhoo, I took the psychic kids from those books and expanded on their story. What if they were brought together under the US government and allowed to form a defensive line against the rising kaiju threat. The KPC or Kaiju Prediction Core. Godzilla and his allies are on Monster Island and can be lured around the world by the kids (now teenagers), to fight other monsters that threaten humanity.

Another character I used was the character of Mizuno. He is from the Toho film called The Human Vapor. The movie is not available here in the US (I honestly don't know why because Netflix is about to do a series for the thing), so a lot of Gfans have probably not seen it. I like the movie, but it is the weakest of the "mutant Trilogy" from Toho. Mantango and H-Man are far better. But I like the character of the Human Vapor and really wanted to use him in a story one day. His military emblem badge is an Easter egg for a private foundation ground that I want to expand upon in another story. Don't want to spoil it, but Mizuno is not the only "creature like" character that will be from that private foundation team.

But yeah, I just wanted to take the original monsters from the Ciencin books, Rattler and Yellowback, and give them a bit of the limelight so to speak. And I like Spiderquake

Sort of. Mizuno is only one of two toho related characters from the group I want to create. The rest will come from other sources and influences. My 2nd Anguirus KWCE match, Anguirus vs Ganium and Gezora, will use 2 more characters from that mysterious foundation.
