Guys, its smart to expect the trailer close to release than further. Hollywood been doing that recently, seems theyve discovered they can increase ticket sales by marketing closer to release by keeping people excited and their attention focused on them instead of long periods in between.

It's crazy... we might not get a trailer/poster until 2024. That is if this follows a similar marketing scheme to Godzilla vs Kong

i'm sure we will get plenty of toy leaks like we did for GvK.

Shin Godzilla's first real trailer dropped in April 2016, around 3 months before the movie's release. Hollywood movies have more recently adopted a similar three-month advertising model. Streaming services often drop the trailer as little as one month before release, like with Skull Island. My expectation:

Monarch series release: October
GxK:TNE trailer drop: January

I agree on the trailer drops, especially with TNE. Dropping the trailer in January & going for the blitz marketing worked well for GvK. Covid/HBO Max day & date most likely played a factor as well.

The earliest I could possibly see the next trailer would be around the release for Dune: Part 2. The Monarch show trailer should get the SDCC release/spotlight.

from what I read from the leaks, it sounds like Kong unintentionally causes the Scar King/enemy apes to escape from where they were banished (probably something related to the young ape Kong befriends).

So maybe Godzilla thinks he's involved somehow with their escape. That, or Godzilla's just being a dick & doesn't like Kong being out of the Hollow Earth, lol

Honestly, it could very well be both. Godzilla has already proven that he will attack you if you were to disobey or disrupting the natural order, as seen when Amhuluk is roaming around the Amazon, attacking Behemoth, or Kong for leaving Skull Island.

So maybe, Godzilla attacks Kong not only because he released Skar King and the other apes, and eventually, by extension, Shimu, but he also leaves the Hollow Earth. It seemed like at the end of Godzilla vs Kong, Godzilla "ordered" Kong to stay in the Hollow Earth while he roams the surface world, keeping the balance of nature in check. But now, with Kong on the surface, and having released Skar King, Godzilla's probably pissed off beyond belief.

Maybe it's a "the Hell are you doing here?" situation and it diffuses before it gets too ugly

I imagine it is. But still. Seems kind of dumb and pointless after the resolution to the last film.
