Yeah, the Chinese channels already posted unboxings. I was initially pretty hesitant to cancel my preorder but in the end it seems like it was a good call, since I wouldn't have been satisfied. The clear parts definitely give it an edge over the original, but the egregious facial details (especially teeth) make a comeback:

Seems like Tamashii can't quite attain the precision needed to adequately capture the teeth, which is understandable given the scale, but still sad since the 4th form releases are otherwise good.

The teeth were never going to look good with the mouth perpetually agape like that, even when “closed”. The best figures of this suit like the Banpresto all have closed mouths.

The pictures that have been coming in of the new Shin Godzilla are all over the place; some look decent (in the right lighting conditions), but others just look terrible. And there's already a recurring problem, apparently: breakage.

Looks cool, but I don't like Gamera enough to buy Monsterarts of him. Hopefully he's a good release this time! I don't see this line doing anything beyond Gyaos as far as the new anime goes.

From the Showa era to the Heisei era, the giant monster Gamera, which has been loved by monster fans around the world, makes a comeback in the Reiwa era!

The prototype is based on the 3D data used from the series "GAMERA: REBIRTH" under the supervision of director Hiroyuki Sehita and Gamera's model maker, Mitsunori Katayama. In "GAMERA: REBIRTH", there is a display for Gamera's skeleton and this item follows this blueprint arranging the joints at positions calculated from the skeleton design. It will move as if it were an actual living creature!

In addition, a set of flight form parts will be included to enhance your display. This flight form base features new modeling from previous Gamera flight bases.

The flying parts on Gamera looks sick. Pricey, but I guess justifiable given how damn round he is. Looks good.

I would love to see at least one other kaiju with him though, even just a small Gyaos. Something like what they did with the S.P. Rodan would be awesome.
