Official Yakuza/Like A Dragon Thread

Post by MechaGoji Bro7503 »

As my favorite franchise ever, I must make a thread for it. This I command.

With the upcoming remake of Ishin this week, I can't wait for it! It's going to be a reunion of so many characters in the franchise set in the late 1800s detailing the story of samurai legend Ryoma Sakamoto. Seeing antagonists from different entries interact with one another playing historical figures is gonna be a treat.

I want to personally thank MechagojiBro for getting me into this series. A year and a half ago I had no interest, but his continued talk of it, as well as hearing some good things from a few others, really made me love the entire series. As of a few weeks ago, I've played all the games in the series, including the spin offs. It was a long journey for sure, but infinitely rewarding. Yakuza/like a Dragon became one of my favorite game series of all time, and I sort of got into a rythmn for playing all of them in order. It's a long commitment, but yeah they're great.

Yakuza 7 might be one of my favorite games of all time.

And sorry, despite above praise, I might wait until starting Isshin when it releases. Busy with Dead Space :P

What games would Kazuma Kiryu make a good guest character for? Definately Tekken, but would he also fit Mortal Kombat?

Here's my initial thoughts and whatnot after completing Ishin Kiwami on Legend: https://youtu.be/88eVrejULno

And I must say, the ending of this game was very, very inspiring. While it is about Japan deciding its future for itself and the end of the samurai, it rang to me with inspiration for the future of our current world. Just the overall idea that there are people out there determined to improve the world and we just don't know them yet, man that got me in my soul. Another stellar piece of magic from RGG Studios.

I bought Like a Dragon: Ishin! some months ago. Haven't played it yet. I am planning on buying Yakuza 0-6 and Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.

The Man Who Erased His Name was phenomenal, I'm glad it serves as a companion piece to Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. I've also slowly converted more friends into playing this incredible series :P

I'm excited for Infinite Wealth. The demo was a lot of fun and I can only imagine how content-packed the full game is going to be. I'm not ready to cry, the story's going to be heavy af.
