Rules: Standard Heisei Scaling; Fight to the Death.

Battleground: Yokohama, Japan.

Verdict: MechaGodzilla is the superior CQC fighter, and will thrash Gigan should he get in close. However, Gigan's durability may be able to carry him through long enough to land a Laser Knife or two (or utilize his Universal Cutter), and possibly turn the tide in his favor.

Abstaining for now, leaning towards MechaGodzilla.

If Gigan uses the Laser Knife right, then he can win this, a lucky shot in Mechagodzilla's eye can take Nolan Sorrento down.

Despite being a better melee fighter, I don’t think MechaGodzilla has the means to properly put down Gigan. Its flamethrower doesn’t strike me as all that impressive, especially compared to the Laser Knife, and missiles wont be doing much. On top of that, the Hammer Claws and Universal Cutter are going to be doing a lot of damage (more than fists can anyway).

I’m going with Gigan.

I'm going with Gigan too. MG isn't that durable compared to Gigan, and lasers easily cause damage to MG. Gigan's laser will soften up MG, and a good hit to the head will destroy it.

Gigan has shown more impressive feats and his beam and claws would make short work of the Mecha
