Mattel can charge whatever they like. Five thousand a figure, twenty thousand a figure- and people will pay it.

JAG, JAG: This exclusive wasn't made to cater only to the super rich. Everyone in the world has the right to enjoy these figures.

Sure. They will. Mattel can have a coupon day, or something.

We've gone over a year without anyone mentioning PNSO? Shameful.

Guess I'll break that drought then. Copped the finned 2020 Spino for my new apartment.

And Kosmoceratops is here! It's very nice in-hand, the pictures don't really do it justice. The horns are mostly symmetrical, but a little lopsided, which is welcome. The paint is a bit chipped or scraped in a few spots, but not too bad. I've only tried a few joints, but they seem smooth enough. The tail popped into place no problem at all, I barely even had to apply force.

Hammond Collection Dilophosaurus and Ellie Sattler revealed at SDCC! This on top of the two exclusives, both the Outpost Chaos set and a smaller Chaos Theory set of an injured Malcolm in....the pose with a diorama of the visitor center.

Also, in honor of the SDCC panel, David Silva has created a promotion: use the code FREESHIP22 with any in stock item on the Creative Beast website for free shipping

Noice. We'll have to see how the color scheme translates to the actual figure, but it looks good so far. A lot of color schemes in this line are too much and kind of ugly, honestly, so I'm glad to see something relatively subdued for an icon like Allosaurus.

The 2020 Spino is a splendid figure for sure; I'd consider it near the very top of the crop among Spino figures currently.
I haven't been as diligently following PNSO in general lately, though; they're tending more and more towards getting too expensive for my tastes. They're still releasing interesting stuff, though: they just recently announced/released the sauropod Lingwulong following Sinraptor and Acrocanthosaurus, and their next figure scheduled is...
Sinopliosaurus???

Image

Apparently there's some confusion between described remains belong to a pliosaur by this name, and a spinosaur which is probably Siamosaurus. Weird choice, PNSO.

Meanwhile, Creative Beasts' 1/18 raptor/ceratopsian figure preorders starting shipping last month, so I had four little gems arrive at my doorstop:

These are delightful little figures, although they have their issues. Sculpting and painting is great on all of these, and the articulation is generally very good as well. The two raptors feel a little fragile, though, and my Dromaeosaurus's head likes to pop off. They're definitely cool, though, and I hope David Silva is encouraged to make more minifigures like this and keep improving on the designs.

Very......mixed news with the Hammond Collection

Leaks have offically confirmed the Wave 2 we will be getting this year (corroborated by most of these being part of a listing of basic figures like Xiongguanlong)
Spoiler:

Humans: Ray Arnold and Robert Muldoon

Small dinosaurs: Velociraptor (JP3) and Pachycephalosaurus

Medium dinosaurs: Geosternbergia (based on the Lost World Pteranodon), Metriacanthosaurus, Irritator and Concavenator
So both some well wanted classics and some...strange choices.

Of course this was made even worse with the announcement that Mattel is getting into NFTs and free ones will be given out with HC preorders done through Target starting with the upcoming Ellie and Dilophosaurus.

....so BBTS for this guy, idk about you.

I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't know or care about NFT's one way or another. Like i really don't understand why they send people into such a blind rage

Also, CollectJurassic's list has revived the list I posted: No Irritator or Metriacanthosaurus for this year at least, but we will be getting an Ankylosaurus (no clue if it's JP3 or JW trilogy) and a JP3 figure pack of Alan and the female raptor, just in case you weren't good with just the male.

Very nice color scheme. Flashy, but not excessive.

Having a major soft spot for the JP1 dinosaurs I picked up the Hammond Collection Velociraptor and Gallimimus. They're nice for what they are for figures in this price and size range, although they do look better with their mouths closed. The Galli is actually a bit nicer than the Raptor.

I'll definitely get the Dilophosaurus if I see it and maybe the Pachycephalosaurus (as a big Lost World fan).

Anyone with the Mattel Brachiosaurus I'm very curious to see how it scales with the old Kenner figures.

$40 for an STL file seems kinda steep.
