Universe of Chaos - A Kaiju Odyssey

2XXX, Deep Simian Space

Red alarms flared and sirens screamed as hairy fingers ravenously typed at a keyboard. The thuds of heavy leather boots marching past clutters the air as a frenzy of personnel floods the room in a panic.

“Status report!” Barked Vali’ha, 1st Brigadier General. His teeth gritted as he turned his head downwards to the plethora of subservients staring down the monitors and rattling their desks with furious hand movements. A meek, young ape cleared his throat and announced to the rest of the Bridge.

“We’ve had an incursion on K-4YT. According to the current intel… it appears to be another human assault. Other reports describe Xillien spacecraft, but those come from unreliable and unbacked sources… What are your orders, sir? The newcomer retreated back down into his ‘den’ of sorts, and hovered his hands over the control panel, ready to execute orders at any moment. Vali’ha stroked his beard for a moment, pondering the situation. His eyes set dead forward into the black abyss of space, squinting further and further.

“Should we consider deployment… sir?” A Lieutenant asked. Vali’ha stayed silent, but the thought ran in his mind. He could contact the next fleet over and try to get a hold of the unit that Tahla belongs to, an infamous pilot and feared individual across the cosmos. Risking damage to MG2, however, was too costly when it was likely that the detected object is a simple scouting vessel or a small fleet of attack ships.

Vali’ha finally opened his mouth, and calmly responded, “If I know Humans, they wouldn’t dare attack with more than a measly fleet this deep in our sphere of influence. I wouldn’t worry. Let the local forces deal with it and continue on your course to M1. We’re conquering that wasteland, and the measly Millennians won’t be able to stop us.”

The Simian Battle-Carrier and her subsidiaries dashed into hyperspace, and within an instant, only trails of neon blue remained in their place.

Earth, UN Base in Nagoya

“Thank you, the both of you, for attending this urgent meeting. With growing tensions and the enlarging Simian and Garogan threat, alliances with the Mysterians and Nebulans as proposed will be put into consideration with the board. Segawa, Fuyutski.”

Hanekawa sighed as he lifted up from his bow and sat back in his chair. His baggy eyes sluggishly blinked and his mouth slowly opened as a meek yawn escaped his mouth. This momentary relief was cut short by the all too familiar ring of the bell outside his office. With a pout he got up and opened the door to see his new secretary, Yoshida, standing with his arms desperately wrapped around an abundance of papers. Yoshida’s hands were covered in sweat, and with every passing seconds, the white paper slipped downward, and the young man struggled to juggle it between his outstretched fingers.

“Come, come. Don’t just stand there, put the papers down.” Hanekawa ordered.

“Anywhere, sir?” Yoshida panted.

“Oh, god yes. Anywhere will do.”

“How did the meeting go?”

“You know how these things go. KACC and NERV can be so demanding and derogatory, moreso KACC. Segawa is always demanding new funds for another army, another MOGUERA, another Mechagodzilla, and the like. Fuyutski is more reserved, but that Ikari who’s the boss over there is quite… you know what I mean, yes? He’s not easy to work with.”

Yoshida nodded along with everything his boss said.

“They need to understand that we’re in a good position at the moment, and without an immediate threat we don’t need to spend absurd percentages of our monthly budget on gimmicky weapons that’ll probably never see service.” Hanekawa continued, waving his arms in a frantic and frustrated manner, “They can’t just tread all over us. Ah, well. I’m just one man. What can we do?”

Yoshida spoke up, “I’m not too sure about any of this, really, but I do think that, in all honesty, we could make some cuts to KACC and NERV. I think they have too much of a grip on us working here at the UN. Especially the branches in Japan.”

This made Hanekawa think. Did the two biggest organisations defending the civilisation have too much power and influence? Do they need to be held on a leash? The two men sat in silence in the darkened room as the time flew by. Clocks ticking. Ambient bird calls and distant chatting down the many hallways of the buildings. The secretary’s uncomfortable gaze reawakened Hanekawa from this silent state, and Yoshida retreated from the room, scuttling down the hall.

Hanekawa peeked from out the door, catching a glimpse of his weary secretary, before yawning and slinking back inside. Today had been a long day.

A green and gold monster sailed across the darkness of space..

Gigan was bored. Trapped with his own thoughts. So far, today had been uneventful, for there wasn't anything truly happening anymore where he was. All of the smaller forces had left this part of the universe long ago, and he was top dog in this part of the galaxy. But when being top dog began to become a bore, the cyborg kaiju realized he needed to get something pumping in his bloodstream pretty fast. He was like a machine: for no matter what happened, he always felt the need for more.

Hearing noises from the far reaches of space, he turned to it and flew into the void, to the point of disappearing into nothing less but a shimmer in the stars. Maybe this was what he was searching for all this time.

A guy who randomly stumbled upon this place one day, invested much too much time into it, and now appears to be stuck here for all eternity..and strangely enough, i do not regret it!

An unknown planet

A thundering BOOM sent a massive creature flying into a huge stone pillar, causing it to collapse under the creature's immense weight. The dust settled and the monster stood up enraged. The beast was vaguely minotaur-like in appearance, with a bovine head complete with wicked curved horns. Shaggy fur hung from it's muscular frame except for it's chest and abdomen where it's defined musculature was visible in the form of sculpted pecs and abs. The creature balled it's human-like hands into fists and bellowed in blind fury, cold air exiting it's mouth and nostrils as a huge shadow was cast over it. Standing before it was a bipedal construct made of some quartz-like crystal and gold trim, not quite a robot but not quite a living being either. It resembled a statue or a work of art more than any war machine, yet it moved with the fluid grace of a fighter. It's singular red eye was laser-focused on the hairy creature that stood before it. Complex mathematical algorithms and lightning-fast simulations ran in it's head as it evaluated the bovine monster. It had arrived to this primitive world mere hours ago when it detected the life signs of of a massive organism, and upon arrival found that it was terrorizing a race of humanoid cephalopod-like beings. Analysis indicated that they had only just recently entered the industrial era, which is likely what awoke their monster enemy.

It had been constructed by a long-dead civilization which had also been attacked by a huge monster, however unlike these primitives, no one came to save them. The construct had originally been built to serve that purpose; to kill this creature and end it's reign of terror. To that end, they named it "Chronidus", which in their language meant "Divine Avenger". However by the time the automated underground forges had completed it's construction, it was far too late. The creature awakened to a dead world ravaged by the beast. It's creators had gifted it with the ability of being semi sentient, and it used this gift to alter it's mission parameters to eradicate any and all hostile creatures so that this fate would never befall any other sentient race again. This world was the first of several the construct had visited, and each one was infested with giant monsters. One by one it cleansed them of this scourge; some civilizations it was able to save, others it had arrived too late. If it could not save them, it could avenge them.

The minotaur-like monster howled again, shaking it's head in berserk fury as it charged Chronidus, each step of it's hooved feet shaking the purple sandy soil of this alien world. Nearby, several of the native inhabitants watched this battle unfold between their unlikely protector and the beast that threatened them. Once the monster passed a certain distance threshold, Chronidus activated the thrusters in it's thighs and calves and dashed back 200 meters to put distance between itself and the creature. Reactivating it's Siege Mode, it's powerful weapons came online once more. Arming it's Plasma Lancers, the cylindrical cannons ending in glowing gold spheres lined up with the monster's current position and crackled with golden energy. A barrage of eight energy projectiles discharged from the glowing spheres and slammed into the monster's flesh with burning intensity. Flesh sizzled and hair burned away as the monster howled in pain, but was undeterred as it charged again. Chronidus focused on the creature's legs as it ran, slowing down it's vision as to analyze the movement of it's joints and pinpointing a weakness in them.

Chronidus's head jolted before it began to literally disassemble itself; it's horns rotated to the sides of it's head, it's upper and lower "jaws" split in two and it's "eye" extended outward guided by ring-shaped focusing lenses. A C-shaped panel rotated out the back it's head in a corkscrew-like fashion and the various tubing and scaffolding in it's head shifted and moved to accommodate the firing apparatus. In a split-second flash, Chronidus fired two thin beams of red energy from it's "eye" that struck the charging creature in both knees and sheared it's legs off from the knee down. The monster waved it's arms in a vain attempt to balance itself before it faceplanted into the ground and carved a massive trench into the soil. Chronidus's head collapsed back into it's original shape as it slowly approached the wounded creature. The monster moaned in agony as steam and smoke rose from the sizzling stumps of it's legs. Chronidus stood over the dying creature and observed it, it's AI cataloguing and recording every fine detail of it to store in it's databases in case it ever ran into a similar enemy. This process took mere moments, and with that completed, this creature served no further purpose. Raising it's right leg, Chronidus brought it's foot down on the monster's head and crushed it like an overripe fruit. Gore and grey matter splattered everywhere. This execution prompted cheers from the onlooking natives as their savior from the stars and put an end to the monster's reign of terror.

With it's mission complete, Chronidus diverted all power to it's flight systems and took off towards the stars once more, leaving behind a massive smoke trail and a dead monster in it's wake. The natives watched as the construct left their world in awe and in the aftermath of this battle, Chronidus would be canonized as a saint who came to save them in their darkest hour.

D-UIO8, Disputed Space.

Smoke billowed from open wounds as the Millennian monster tumbled back. The metallic whirr seldom heard rang in the ears of those unfortunate enough to be in the presence of the Knight of Mugal. Orga’s malformed mouth creaked open to gasp for air, to reach out for relief, only for it’s attempt to be silenced by another superheated blast of multi-coloured energy.

The seared grey flesh bubbled and popped, and the Millennian Ogre’s eyes dimmed. However hurt it may be, the collective souls controlling it from within would not allow a retreat, and pressed on. Once again, and for the final time, Orga’s weak arms lifted him up, and clenched his fists ready for another throw down with the simian weapon. Mechagodzilla’s hands began to twist in full rotations, making the ominous whirr again. Starting slow, it sped up, turning into a blur of silver-grey flashes. Orga’s crunched and folded back arched up, raising his arms high into the sky. The Millennian super weapon’s body shook violently, with only a thread of life left inside the walking husk.

With a deafening crack, Mechagodzilla’s hands stopped instantly and fired several missiles at Orga. The DNA monster was immediately engulfed in flames, shockwaves ripping through the soft and mushy flesh. All that was left was a flaming mass of monster matter, smoking and melting from the extreme heat. Fires raged the empty forest, creating a wall of hell. Missiles shot back into place, discarding the old shells like cigarette butts. Mechagodzilla’s head spun, scanning the horizon for any signs of resistance. The semi-sentient computer housed inside it’s neck beeped with negative results, and the head locked into an upwards facing position.

“MG, we did well today. You can come home now.” Tahla said, speaking through a microphone, which was connected to the Robot’s computer. Mechagodzilla screeched in response, and rocketed up into the sky, fiery jets from under his feet kicking up plumes of dust and debris. A trail of white smoke betrayed it’s stealth, leaving a clear path into the void of space.

The Millennians were weak, having lost another Orga. They wouldn’t last much longer if this keeps up. The Millennians and Simians both know this well. Maybe, sometime soon, something will change.

=========================

The sun rose over the beautiful planet, it’s yellow rays smearing the plants, rocks and water with an angelic light. A beautiful morning in the Monsterland Archipelago.

With a yawn and a stretch, the largest and most revered resident of these islands emerged from their cave. His charcoal skin soaking up the light, and his bone-colour spines wobbling a little with every step. Pin like teeth guarded his tongue, and his glassy eyes surveyed the islands. Yet again, like most other days in the past few decades, no disturbances to be found.

The Monarch sluggishly blinked, rubbing his eyes and scratching his side, before sitting down to finish a half-eaten whale from the night before. The monster pondered when the next fight would be, and this was he thought about most. Sparring his friends is useful for keeping him from dulling, but after a point, it stops becoming a challenge. He needed to fight some evil monsters, some aliens, some robots, anything would do. Even a fight with the humans would get the blood pumping. He needed something.

The Saviour of Earth, the monster who slayed the devil at the turn of the century, was yearning for days like old again. Godzilla wanted more. Godzilla wanted to fight!

Fireballs plummet from the heavens, crashing into a grassy field. On the ground, a sparsely-armored humanoid with a tall insectoid head lies near a trail of upheaved dirt. Suddenly, its eyes glow a bright yellow as it sits up. The seijin looks around, seeing the chaos surrounding it. It feels a sharp pain in its arm and tries to move it, only to realize that it had been broken. The humanoid looks at the injury for a second before slamming its side into the ground, popping it back into place. Braving the pain, it gets up and walks towards the nearest shape it can see. To the seijin's dismay, it's the burnt corpse of one of its kind. Even worse, there are more bodies in similar condition all over the area. It looks up at the sky, seeing a faint golden shape. Although it couldn't see the object clear enough, the seijin knew full well what it was.

IN THE NEAR PAST

A couple weeks ago, a territorial despute between Alien Wild and Alien Sran blossomed into a full-on war. The two seijin races started recruiting other civilizations to aid them in battle. Sran had already enlisted the help of the Flashers and Dracund, as well as their distant cousins, the Cicada Humans and Alien Baltan. Among their team of negotiators was Alien Sran Eipan, a pacifist who had helped solve many conflicts similar to this one before they could get out of hand. Their next priority was to join forces with the Cryog. With the help of their powerful mech, Cyber-Ghidorah, they would be nigh-unstoppable.

The Sran contacted the Cryog and a meeting was scheduled on Mars, where the latter's base of operations is located. When Eipan and the other Sran representatives entered the solar system, Cyber-Ghidorah flew in and attacked them! This was all a trap set by the Cryog, who had allied with Alien Wild prior. The Sran vessel managed to evade the mechanical hydra's onslaught of energy attacks for a while but eventually, a gravity bolt from the right head struck its main engine. With their target disabled, Cyber-Ghidorah started blasting away at it. This barage of beams blew the ship to pieces in a matter of seconds.

THE PRESENT DAY

Eipan stands there, watching the traitor race's crown jewel fly away. This trance is interrupted by the sound of footsteps drawing close. The Alien Sran jerks around, only to see a handful of tan bipedal beings clad in green uniforms standing right next to him. He stumbles backwards, startled by their sudden appearance. They just... look at him, mostly-blank expressions on their mammalian faces. Given time to calm down, Eipan recognizes them as members of Earth's dominant race, the humans. After a few moments of awkward silence, he gets up, believing them to be friendly. However, as he reaches to turn on his universal language translator, their immediate drawing of firearms proves otherwise...
