I wonder if Kurt and Wyatt will be an estranged father and son in this show, proving that even when kaiju are involved, Dominic Torretto was right all along- it's about family.

The article says Kurt will play an older version of a character named Lee Shaw, and that Wyatt will play a younger Lee Shaw who apparently will interact with a young Bill Randa. Which is very cool if true because I'll be glad that they're not forgetting old characters from previous films.

He’s A-list among movie geeks only though. While sure yeah the recent stuff with him in Guardians of the Galaxy gave him a new boost, but he’s not exactly a mega star or in his prime. Still cool though, if he’s in it.
Even so, he's a very recognizable name. Anecdotally, every non-fan I have mentioned this too suddenly seemed significantly more interested in this series once they heard Kurt Russell might be in it.

One advantage of a TV series as opposed to a movie would be it can flesh out the characters over a longer period of time a movie will ever allow.

Maybe we'll actually get a 'Godzilla vs. the Thing'. The closest we ever got to that was the '96 American Godzilla script by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio.

Hope the budget would be just as much.

Wouldn't a better comparison to The Thing be the DNA Mimic?

I know '94 was the year the script itself was written, but I was imagining that, had the film been made as intended, it probably would've seen a sooner release in 1996.

Just like how Peter Jackson’s initial Kong film was written in ‘96 but set to release in 1998.

It would be for the better if this show replicated the tone, style and feel of G14.

Well they said the show is gonna feature Godzilla and the other Titans in the press release so Godzilla's in it just how much he's in it is a mystery.

Leaving out of bunch of other work he’s done : Game of Thrones, The Boys, House, Psyche, It’s Always Sunny, Fargo, Mad Men, Succession. And if I’m not mistaken, he’s only directing 2 episodes for Monarch
