Re: New Godzilla Series On Apple TV+
It should be noted that apart from the last episode, WandaVision wasn't exactly the standard MCU formula. It was mostly very light on action up until the finale, heavy on dramatic, emotional character development, and unusually creative in its setting. That doesn't sound like an entirely bad fit for a Godzilla series, does it? More action would be appropriate, but someone who knows how to actually write characters and can work well with zany settings sounds like what the Monsterverse needs.

Re: New Godzilla Series On Apple TV+
Wandavision is definitively one of the best Marvel shows. Now, I should say, I am a big Marvel fan, but in terms of purely visual style, the director of Wandavision did absolutely amazing things with the show, and I do believe that for most part it was a very well written show. I think this is a really choice to make this show.JAGzilla wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 12:19 pm It should be noted that apart from the last episode, WandaVision wasn't exactly the standard MCU formula. Direction wise it's definitely a neat and promising choice imo. I have my qualms with WandaVision as a show (particularly with the finale) but from purely a photographical and structural perspective the style is certainly fitting for the concept of a smaller in scale and more focused series while not sacrificing action elements completely. We'll just have to to see how it fits with the writing and the budget.

Re: New Godzilla Series On Apple TV+
A lot of people, myself included, were initally wondering why this went to AppleTV+ and not HBOMax, since Legendary and WB had a history of making and distributing these films. I'm sure we all suspect that WB's antics of throwing GvK on HBO Max was a major factor in that. But considering all the changes, with Discovery buying out WB and now cutting so many projects this seems like a smart move in hindsight. We don't know is Zaslav would've cut this show but, considering that he's really chopping things up, I wouldn't be surprised if he did.

Do we know for sure that it is a "Godzilla" series or if its a Monarch centric series with a new Monster every episode?

Re: New Godzilla Series On Apple TV+
At this point, we don’t know if either is what the show is about. All we know is that it takes place after the 2014 movie and follows a family with a connection to Monarch. I assume it will feature Godzilla, but I have no idea how much.GoKelley85 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 2:44 pm Do we know for sure that it is a "Godzilla" series or if its a Monarch centric series with a new Monster every episode?

SDCC is next month, so a good chance we'll hear more about it (plus the next MonsterVerse film) during that.

Here it seems like Legendary is keeping things close to the chest this time round.

Welp, now it makes complete sense as to why they waited so long to announce the cast...
Underwhelming is truly an understatement
And no Kurt Russell it seems...bummer

Well, yeah. But this raises the question, was it complete and pure BS that someone just made up or was there truth to them being in talks and the talks didn't turn out so well?DynomikeGojira wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 1:48 pmThat's was just a rumorMoogabunga wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 12:40 pm Welp, now it makes complete sense as to why they waited so long to announce the cast...

Cause if he and his son really were in talks and they broke down...maybe it's purely financial...or maybe they know a dumpster fire when they see one...
