I think it's too early to start worrying about our DVDs and blu-rays going through disc rot,
But y'know better safe than sorry, soon I will start ripping my DVDs and blu-rays of kaiju films, and placing them on hard drives, including all the American cuts I can find, it's technically not legal and could result in some minor quality loss, but I don't care, these films have to and WILL BE preserved, I hope this will be unnecessary, just as long as companies like Toho or Daiei or whatever continue to issue and reissue these films on home video and streaming.
