Beasts of the Mesozoic, Jurassic World, & other Dinosaurs thread!

Post by Salzilla »

Guys,

Didn't find a thread for this, but with the first series these articulated dinosaurs, the Raptor Series, now shipping to folks, I figured it's something all kaiju fans here are interested in. I want to know everyone's thoughts on the various ones they picked up!

Here's my review of the one I Kickstarted: https://youtu.be/s8OUA7G8fAc

I wonder if they would do a retro series for featherless models

The whole focus of BOTM is to provide scientifically accurate dinosaur figures in a market saturated in immovable retrosaurs, so I doubt that'll ever be a thing.

Doubt it. But their NEXT series has to do with the Ceratopsians - Triceratops & Co. - looking forward to it! :D

I always wondered when theses beauties were gonna see the light of day. Glad to know they're coming. Though I thought he might've postponed them or released them earlier since Mattel is sending out their products in spring and resulting them to compete in terms of sales. I dunno.

Don't really care about the Raptor line but definitely looking forward to the Ceratopsian one.

About time a thread was made. I hope they do an Allosaurus or Carnotaurus. It’s good we finally are getting good/accurate(well from as far as we know) dinosaur figures. I really want to make a stop motion project with these once he releases enough... I’m prettt sure it’s just one guy behind it right?
This is the beginning of the end.

On a related note, Mattel's new Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom stuff totally rocks! They've definitely brought their A-Game to this line. Big improvement over Hasbro's half-assed attempt that was called Jurassic World. The quality of Mattel's dino sculpts is superb. Worth checking out, if you haven't already...

Decided to edit the subject to include Jurassic World and other dinosaurs here. Might as well make it a bigger Dino thread! Post away!

Here's my new review for the Indoraptor btw:

Good move, Salzilla. I was thinking about it myself. All dinos welcome here!!!

I picked up the Roarin' Super Colossal T-Rex w/ Battle Damage at my Wal-Mart. They had placed it on an overhead shelf, as there was not a designated spot for it. Box was in nice, minty shape. Once you attach the tail, it must be 4-5 feet long!!! $49 not so bad, for such a HUGE beastie! Impressive. VERY impressive...

Hear, hear! One of my "holy grails" is that someone will make a super poseable T-Rex. I really like the Revoltech JP Rex but I want something much larger.

It's a legit shame that there never was a SHMA Vastatosaurus Rex.

I'm probably going to order one of the BOTM raptors (leaning toward Saurornitholestes) soon from BBTS. Never ordered from them before; are they generally reliable? Also, does anybody know if the ceratopsian line is confirmed to be happening, or is that still up in the air?
