Isn't it just the species that's italicized instead of species and genus?

No, it's both. Usually, you just refer to genus so it doesn't come up a lot but both are supposed to be italicized.Cryptid_Liker wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 7:26 pm Isn't it just the species that's italicized instead of species and genus?

Re: Beasts of the Mesozoic, Jurassic World, & other Dinosaurs thread!
^ Makes sense to me.
For the time being, I've semi-officially put the brakes on dinosaur collecting. I'll get the Mattel Sinoceratops, and then I'm done with the JW line unless they make another large sauropod or a handful of other select species. BOTM, Rebor, Safari, and the rest... as much as I'd love to keep collecting them, it's just not currently a good idea. They're too expensive (well, some are), and there are far, far too many. I just don't have room for them, especially the gigantic BOTM figures. And money-wise, they cut too much into my other hobbies. I want to focus more on kaiju figures and comic books, and I can't do that if frigging dinosaurs are eating my entertainment budget all the time. They'll have to go extinct again, for now...
... but if BOTM starts putting out more smaller, cheaper figures (I know the Raptors are supposed to be getting that treatment soon), I may change my mind.

Not only have we seen some prototypes of the 1/18th Protoceratops and Psittacosaurus (which ARE articulated to my surprise), but we have a new surprise reveal for the BOTM line: glow in the dark variants! (In this case, Zuniceratops)

The PNSO 2020 Spinosaurus is just beautiful. The best Spinosaurus model out on the market.

^ I love that figure so much. Def gonna have to get one.
In other news, David Silva has given us a look at the other Kickstart exclusive tyrannosaur: the 1/18th Dino Riders inspired T. Rex! (Which also works handily as a Sue figure based on that iconic painting in the old atrium as someone pointed out)

Rebor released a new image of their Disney inspired Carnotaurus finally. Was beginning to think it got canceled.

Re: Beasts of the Mesozoic, Jurassic World, & other Dinosaurs thread!
Just got the Amber Collection Delta because she's going for 20 bucks on Amazon.
I really love the sculpt/paint job and the articulation is nice but I gotta be honest, it honestly doesn't feel super collector. Just like a glorified toy from the main line.
The stand in particular is especially irksome to me because the figure stands fine and the stand itself isn't long enough for any cool poses.
It literally feels like Mattel shrugged and threw in a stand because they know people like display stands in collector.
I'm glad I got it cheap because spending 30-40 dollars on this would be ridiculous to me

I agree, Amber Collection tends to feel too toylike instead of being collector-based like a McFarlane or Neca product. Ended up selling my Amber Collection Dilophosaurus to fund PNSO and BOTM purchases.SoggyNoodles2016 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 1:07 pm Just got the Amber Collection Delta because she's going for 20 bucks on Amazon.
