Miss Namikawa ran as fast as she could, leaving footprints behind on the alien soil of the planet Boris. Her trek to the planet had not been unfruitful, but she wished it had been. The news she discovered was most distressing. Now she was making a beeline back to her flying saucer. She had to inform the Inter-Planetary Alliance of the Third Planet's schemed treachery.
She stopped in her tracks as soon as she saw the person waiting for her in front of her saucer. She had come to Boris alone.
"So, Namikawa. You've found us out, have you?" Mugal's voice was rough, but amused. "You should've kept your nose out of this, Xilien. I'm sorry I must inform you that I obviously cannot let you leave this planet alive."
"Bastard," Namikawa spat. "You're not going to get away with this!" Summoning a rectangular device to her right hand, Namikawa prepared to use it if need be.
Mugal laughed as he took note of her device. "Foolish girl. Still using that antiquated technology? Hah! Here, check out the new and improved version!" Reaching for something on the back of his belt, he withdrew a device from behind his silver jumpsuit that Namikawa didn't recognize at first. But as soon as she did, she felt a sense of dread. A Neo Battle Nizer. Raising it into the air, Mugal laughed as a stream of black energy flew from his Battle Nizer and expanded into a gigantic form. Soon, the dark energy faded away, revealing an enormous bipedal creature resembling a cross between a dinosaur and an insect. Lights flashing across its face, the beast let out a low, rumbling sound.
"Ze... Ton."
Namikawa gasped at the sight of Mugal's monster, which now stood between her and her flying saucer. The fact that it came from a Neo Battle Nizer meant that the creature was undoubtedly strong. She couldn't fool around this time. She lifted her device and looked at it, realizing she'd have to use all three.
Mugal smirked as he watched the Xilien. "Go on and call them. Zetton can't die, so what do your monsters matter? HAHAHA!"
Namikawa curled her lip in anger. "I'll show you what they matter," she spat, tightening her grip on her Battle Nizer. Raising the device into the sky, she loudly declared the name of her monsters. "KINGU SHISA! JETTO JAGA! GOJIRAAA!"
In a series of golden lights, three enormous forms came into existence and punched down against the ground as they landed. With a multitude of roars and robotic cries, Godzilla, King Caesar, and Jet Jaguar instantly spotted their foe and prepared to fight. Moving as one, they charged towards Mugal's monster.
Reacting quickly, Zetton reached out with his arms and leapt forward, smashing his fists into Godzilla and King Caesar's muzzles, causing them to cry out as they stumbled backward. As his allies staggered, Jet Jaguar rushed forward, smashing his metallic shoulder into Zetton's chest. The black and white beast seem undeterred by the blow, swinging his arms up and knocking Jet Jaguar away. Before the robot could try another attack, Zetton lifted his hands and launched a Meteor Fireball from his alien 'mouth,' striking Jet Jaguar hard and blasting him back in a burst of sparks and flame. Clutching his now scorched chest plate, Jet Jaguar glanced up at Zetton as the insectoid creature advanced on him. With a mighty roar, King Caesar leapt at the space monster, tackling him and knocking him away from Jet Jaguar. Zetton stumbled, Caesar's stone-like body hitting him hard. The leonine creature began swiping at Zetton with his paws, his large claws drawing sparks each time they gouged against the alien's chitinous chest. Reaching up and swatting Caesar's claws away from him, Zetton lashed out and smashed his palm into the furry creature's snout, knocking him away. "Ze... Ton!" Taking aim, Zetton let loose with another Meteor Fireball, sending it hurtling towards King Caesar's face. But instead of reacting as Zetton expected, Caesar caught the fireball in his left eye and instantly shot it out his right. Too shocked to react in time, Zetton took the fireball to the chest, the resulting explosion sending him staggering back.
As he regained his footing, Zetton looked up just in time to catch sight of Godzilla's tail slamming against his chest, knocking him back even further. With Zetton off-balance, Godzilla went in for the attack, striking against the space dinosaur with his powerful fists. Godzilla hit hard, his initial flurry of punches sending Zetton staggering backwards. As the alien beast took a step back, Godzilla once again decided to attack with his tail, quickly turning around. But this time Zetton was ready for it, catching the tail in his hands.
"Hah! Show them your strength, Zetton!" Mugal called out to his monster.
Godzilla roared angrily as he tried to wrench his tail from Zetton's grasp, but it was no use. With a tug, Zetton pulled Godzilla backwards. Seeing their ally in trouble, Jet Jaguar and King Caesar rushed forward. Noticing their approach, Zetton gripped Godzilla's tail even tighter and proceeded to lift the reptile into the air. Godzilla roared in defiance but was powerless to do anything as Zetton lifted him up and began to turn in place, swinging Godzilla's body through the air. The monster's teammates had no time to respond before Godzilla smashed into King Caesar, then Jet Jaguar, knocking them both to the ground. Continuing to spin, Zetton waited until Godzilla was good and dizzy before releasing him, allowing the kaiju to fly for a moment before crashing to the ground. Groggily rolling onto his stomach, Godzilla tried to push himself up, but Zetton unleashed another Meteor Fireball, blasting Godzilla in the side and sending him reeling back.
"Ze... Ton!" Zetton took a step towards the fallen reptile, but King Caesar and Jet Jaguar pounced on him from either side, grabbing his arms. The two wrestled against their foe for a moment, finally tossing him backwards, causing him to stumble. Zetton spat another fireball aimed at Jet Jaguar, but this time the robot ducked the blast. Lowering his head and charging forward, Jet Jaguar smashed his head fin into Zetton's gut, drawing sparks and knocking the space dinosaur to the ground. With their opponent momentarily floored, Jet Jaguar joined King Caesar in helping Godzilla get back to his feet. As Zetton rose up, he found himself faced with the three kaiju united once again. Snarling angrily, Godzilla reared his head back. His dorsal fins flashing, he unleashed a stream of atomic breath at his opponent. Seconds before the blast could strike its target, Zetton held his hands up, cupping them and catching Godzilla's ray within them! "Ze... Ton." The three monsters reacted in shock and confusion, but before any of them could act further, Zetton thrust his hands out. Born from the absorbed energy of Godzilla's atomic ray, Zetton hurled a shimmering energy beam towards the trio. The attack, the Final Beam, hit Godzilla first, blasting him hard enough to knock him clear off of his feet. Zetton quickly moved his hands, sending the Final Beam into King Caesar, then Jet Jaguar, sending them to the ground as well.
With all his opponents down, Zetton ceased his beam attack and advanced on them. "Ze... Ton." The space creature almost taunted his groaning foes with his signature sound as he grew even closer to them. Tilting his head down to look at them, Zetton had no time to react as Godzilla lifted his head and opened his maw, firing another atomic ray at his foe. The blast exploded against the alien's face, causing him to quickly reel backward before stumbling and falling to the ground. "Ton! Ze... Ton!" the monster cried, clutching at his burnt face. In an instant, Godzilla was on his feet, roaring at his enemy.
"Gojira!" Miss Namikawa called out her monster's name, watching the fight unfold. "Sliding kick!"
Godzilla punched his fists together and charged towards Zetton at top speed. Just as the black and white kaiju wearily got to his feet, Godzilla reared back and balanced himself on his powerful tail, letting his momentum carry him forward. Zetton noticed the technique too late, taking the full force of Godzilla's two-footed kick, hurtling through the air before crashing to and rolling across the soil. Godzilla nodded in satisfaction.
A moment later, King Caesar and Jet Jaguar stepped up, standing on either side of Godzilla. The reptile acknowledged them with a nod for each before the three of them turned to face their fallen foe. With a hand gesture and a sharp roar, Godzilla told his teammates what to do. With a nod, the golem and robot made a beeline for Zetton. Back on his feet by now, the alien monster lifted his head and saw them racing towards him, readying himself to retaliate. Once they were close enough, King Caesar and Jet Jaguar leapt into the air and struck attack poses, Jet Jaguar preparing his leg for a kick, Caesar ready to lash out with his claws. Seconds before they struck, Zetton lifted his arms and a cylinder of purple energy rose up and surrounded him. Unable to stop in midair, Jet Jaguar and King Caesar smashed into the Zetton Barrier. In a burst of light and puff of smoke, the two of them bounced off the surging shield and crumpled to the ground, crying out in pain. Enraged at seeing his allies fall, Godzilla charged up another atomic blast and let it fly, watching as it soared right over the fallen King Caesar and Jet Jaguar and directly for Zetton. Unfortunately, although the ray was strong, it exploded harmlessly against Zetton's barrier. Godzilla cut off his ray, stunned by the sight.
In an instant, the Zetton Barrier was gone, and the space dinosaur marched forward, reaching out for the reptile. "Ze... Ton!" Reaching the downed forms of King Caesar and Jet Jaguar, Zetton kicked hard, eliciting cries of pain from the two of them as he sent them skidding away in opposite directions. Roaring angrily, Godzilla raced forward to meet his foe. Swinging his fists, Godzilla proceeded to hit Zetton hard and fast, never letting up. Grunting, Zetton retaliated, backhanding Godzilla across the face, then punching him in the side. Snarling, Godzilla spun around, intent on striking Zetton's legs with his tail, but the alien beast leapt up, avoiding the attack and landing on the extremity, pinning it to the ground. Roaring angrily, Godzilla tried to pull his tail free, but Zetton was too heavy. "Ze... Ton!" Lifting his arms, Zetton fired a series of Meteor Fireballs, blasting Godzilla in the head, neck, back, and base of his tail. The reptile cried out as the fiery orbs exploded against him, unable to escape with Zetton still standing on him.
"Gojira!" Namikawa called to him. "Take off!"
Doing his best to ignore the pain from Zetton's fireballs, Godzilla did as his master instructed. Tilting his head downward, Godzilla unleashed another stream of his atomic breath, this one aimed at the ground itself. Suddenly, the blast provided enough force to initiate lift off, causing Godzilla to spring backwards, smashing fins first into Zetton, sending both kaiju to the ground. Zetton was the first one back up, but Godzilla was on his feet quickly thereafter. "Ze... Ton!" Running at Godzilla, Zetton leapt into the air, bracing his leg for a powerful kick. As soon as the space monster's foot was within grasping distance however, Godzilla grabbed him by the ankle and swung him to the side. The helpless Zetton felt metal smash into his chest as Jet Jaguar greeted him with a jump kick of his own, sending him crashing to the ground. Godzilla and Jet Jaguar nodded to each other, then watched as Zetton struggled to get back to his feet.
As King Caesar wearily pulled himself up a ways behind them, Godzilla and Jet Jaguar advanced on Zetton. Reaching him first, Jet Jaguar swung his right arm towards his foe, intending to clothesline him, but Zetton caught the limb and used it to slam the robot to the ground. Zetton lifted his foot and prepared to stomp down on Jet Jaguar's head, but the robot quickly rolled out of the way as Godzilla lunged in, punching Zetton directly in the face, causing him to take a step back. "Ze... Ton." Marching forward, Zetton raised his leg and planted his foot into Godzilla's gut, knocking him back to the ground. Hearing a mechanical cry, Zetton turned to see Jet Jaguar charging. Holding his arms up again, the yellow slit along the alien's face lit up as he suddenly spat out not another fireball, but instead a hail of Light Bullets. The projectiles hit Jet Jaguar hard and fast, charring the robot's chest plate as Zetton continued his attack. Sparks and smoke erupted from Jet Jaguar's torso as the robot was unable to stop Zetton's relentless blasts. Finally, Zetton ceased his attack and watched his foe.
With a weak cry, the sound of winding down machinery could be heard. The light dimming from his eyes, Jet Jaguar dropped, collapsing to the ground. The robot had tried his best, but he had been thoroughly defeated.
Miss Namikawa gasped as she saw her mechanical companion fall. "Jetto Jaga! No!"
"HAHAHA!" Mugal laughed. "One down, two to go!" he sneered. "Now finish them off, Zetton!"
Zetton nodded. "Ze... Ton." Reaching forward, the space dinosaur advanced towards Miss Namikawa's remaining two kaiju.
Godzilla and King Caesar looked at one another, roaring angrily. Zetton was going to pay for defeating their comrade and together they prepared to attack. The two of them charged their opponent, with Godzilla in front. Once Godzilla was close enough to Zetton, he suddenly dropped into a crouching position. Reaching Godzilla's tail, King Caesar used his teammate as a ramp, running up Godzilla's back and leaping off of him towards Zetton. The extraterrestrial monster reared back in surprise at the tactic, allowing Caesar to swipe his arms down, gashing Zetton with his large claws, sparks flying as they collided with Zetton's chitinous torso. "Ze... Ton!" Charging forward, Godzilla lowered his head and rammed it into Zetton's gut, sending the black and white beast flying backwards. Before the two of them could close the distance, Zetton was back up and began firing one Meteor Fireball after the other, exploding at Godzilla and King Caesar's feet, obscuring their view with clouds of smoke and dirt. Before they could react, Zetton leapt forward, bursting through the smoke, landing a powerful fist to each of their faces. Godzilla and Caesar were caught off guard and tumbled to the ground.
Namikawa's heart raced as she watched the battle. No matter what her monsters did, Zetton was able to take it and then dish out punishment that was just as strong, if not more so. And now with Jet Jaguar out of the fight... An idea suddenly came to her. A technique she had taught her monsters some time ago. They had only used it once before, and it was risky, but she felt as if it might be the only chance they had now.
"GOJIRA! KINGU SHISA!" she cried out. "DUO BEAM!"
Godzilla and King Caesar heard their orders and nodded, rising to their feet. Zetton was advancing quickly, ready to put them down again. Inhaling deeply, Godzilla's dorsal fins flashed with light as he charged up another atomic blast. Zetton noticed what the reptile was doing and prepared to catch the ray in his hands again. But what Godzilla did next stunned Zetton, as well as his master. Just as the atomic energies in Godzilla's throat reached his mouth, he and Caesar turned to each other, and Godzilla unleashed his ray point blank into the golem's face!
"Ze... Ton." Zetton tilted his head as he watched the sight, clearly confused. King Caesar braced himself, standing strong as Godzilla's atomic ray burned against his rocky hide.
"Whatever you're doing, Xilien... It won't work!" Mugal boasted, though he was clearly as uncertain as his kaiju was.
Godzilla kept the ray going for as long as he could. Longer than most times he used it in battle. But finally, even he had to stop, or else he'd completely deplete his internal energies. Cutting off his ray, Godzilla, as well as King Caesar, turned to face Zetton. With a roar, Godzilla's fins began to flash again as he charged up yet another blast. This time, though, King Caesar's prism-like eyes were crackling with the same atomic energy.
Mugal's eyes widened as he realized what was about to happen. "ZETTON! ZETTON BARRIER, NOW!"
In a thunderous blast of energy, Godzilla let another atomic ray fly from his mouth. At the same time, an identical ray fired from King Caesar's eyes. Both atomic blasts sped directly for Zetton. Nanoseconds before they hit, Zetton's familiar energy shield rose up and surrounded him. The two powerful rays smashed into the Zetton Barrier and exploded, but their assault was not done. Using all their strength, Godzilla and Caesar kept their rays flowing for as long as they could, causing explosion after explosion against the barrier. Unfortunately for Zetton, as strong as his shield was, even it could not stand up to the power of two atomic rays forever, and in a burst of sparks and energy particles, the Zetton Barrier shattered, leaving the space dinosaur vulnerable. Zetton was hit with the full power of the atomic blasts and staggered back. Though they were exhausted by now, Godzilla and King Caesar kept their rays going, putting as much power into them as they possibly could. Over and over the blasts exploded against Zetton's armored chest, eliciting cries of anguish as the monstrosity was driven even further back.
Finally, Godzilla and King Caesar could fire no more and ceased their attack. Panting and exhausted, the two of them narrowed their eyes at their alien foe.
"Ze..."
Unable to even finish the cry that gave him his name, Zetton tilted and fell to the side, crashing to the ground. The space dinosaur barely even moved, completely wiped out by Godzilla and King Caesar's united attack. Rearing their heads back, the two kaiju roared in victory, celebrating their foe's defeat. A moment later, they heard a weak cry and turned to see Jet Jaguar approaching them, walking with noticeable difficulty as he held his hand on his burnt chest. Glad to see their teammate was only down, not out, King Caesar and Godzilla nodded to him, roaring as they informed him of their victory.
Nearby, the two aliens faced one another.
"Now get out of my way, Black Holer," Namikawa sneered, withdrawing her laser pistol and aiming it at the man. "The fight is over. Your monster has lost. And I am reporting your treachery to the Alliance."
Mugal smirked. "Who says my monster lost?"
Namikawa's confusion quickly turned to shock as she heard "ZE! TON!" Turning to face the battlefield, Zetton had indeed suddenly risen to his feet, startling Godzilla and the others. Before the three of them could even start to plan an attack, Zetton cupped his hands together and thrust them forward. Although he had indeed taken the brunt of Godzilla's and King Caesar's atomic rays, he had also managed to absorb enough of their energy to charge another Final Beam. The shining blast swept across his three opponents, blasting Godzilla, then King Caesar, then Jet Jaguar. Zetton kept the beam firing for as long as he could, forcing the three of them back until they finally relented to the blast's power, toppling onto their backs, defeated and smoking.
"NO!" Namikawa cried. "Get up!"
For the first time since the fight with Zetton began, her monsters disobeyed her. Writhing in pain beside one another, their bodies began to glow with a bright, golden light. The light grew even more intense as one by one, Godzilla, King Caesar, and Jet Jaguar all turned into small glowing orbs, almost like fireflies, that quickly retreated to and disappeared within Namikawa's Battle Nizer. The three of them would survive to fight another day, but for now, their fight was over.
"No..." she said bitterly.
"HAHAHA!" Mugal laughed maniacally. "Whose monster lost now?" he taunted her. "Zetton! Crush her!" he commanded his monster.
But instead of an immediate crushing, the response Mugal received was a noticeably weary "Ze... ton..."
Turning to face his monstrous warrior, Mugal watched as Zetton faltered, then finally toppled over, landing face first against the dirt. That one final attack against Namikawa's kaiju had used up the last of the monster's strength and now, like hers, Zetton would need a good, long rest before being of any use again. Disappearing within black, smoke-like energy, Zetton retreated into Mugal's Neo Battle Nizer. "No, you fool!" Mugal shouted as he held up his device and glared at it. "I told you to destroy her! Your exhaustion doesn't matter!"
Mugal's attention was suddenly pulled away from his Battle Nizer by the sound of a whirring engine. Turning to face the Xilien Saucer, he saw it lifting into the sky. Turning back to where Miss Namikawa had been, he saw she was no longer there and realized she must have made a mad dash for her ship as he was dealing with Zetton. He pulled out his own laser pistol to shoot at the craft, but by the time he had taken aim it was already disappearing into the stratosphere.
Holstering his gun, Mugal sneered. "You're going to suffer for this, Xilien."
