This world was not what he had come to love.

For countless millennia, he had waged war and risked his life to protect the Earth and its inhabitants. He had seen eras begin and end, species be born and go extinct, and civilizations rise and fall. Once, he had been this world’s king, it's benevolent ruler who struck out and crushed any who sought to harm the Earth. When the foul reared their cruel heads, unleashing destruction for their own narcissistic desires, it was him who all the weak and fearful turned to for salvation.

But here he was now, languishing in depression in an underwater crater, as the surface world became the playground of self-proclaimed gods.

One day, a colossal asteroid fell upon the Earth, much like the one which had taken the lives of the dinosaurs. The surface world was torn apart by the cataclysm, especially when they arose. The Draconians.

Physical manifestations of concepts, whether literally or because they happened to embody certain characteristics so fully that they might as well be. These deities made themselves known in the wake of the mass extinction, unleashing even worse destruction. Power struggles between beasts with abilities beyond that of even most Titans, the survivors never stood a chance. Despite all opposing each other like petty warlords, the new gods mangled the broken world to fit their desires, subjugating the remaining humans and forcing them into worship.

And he, the world’s supposed protector, had not been there to stop them in the first place. The initial impact had instigated great chaos in the hollow Earth, plunging him into a coma due to simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time. When he finally awoke, beneath vast layers of crumbled stone, the world he had come to love was nothing like he remembered.

He had not been there for his subjects, both human and Titan alike. Whenever he tried to call out for the fellow giants which had guarded nature with him, he would receive nothing. Whether they were all dead, or if some survived in obscure pockets and remained utterly hidden in fear, he did not know. It was obvious to him that most of them were dead, most likely having tried to stop the reigns of tyranny and meeting death in return. He had heard some of their dying calls when one did emerge from hiding and lash out.

It was through these that he was able to piece together another thing that tore at his soul. The Draconians could die, but they would not stay dead. Somehow, someway, they could return to the realm of the living. Then, what was he, or anyone, to do to stop this?

A colossal, grey-scaled body began to shift. He started to swim, just to feel something physical, to move at all. Immense arms and legs, composed of the strongest musculature the Earth had created, moved for the first time in months. A powerful tail kicked up a cloud of silt into the waters as it shifted. Jagged spines protruding from the living monolith’s back waved back and forth subtly.

Yellow eyes, filled with weariness, observed where a kingdom once stood.

Shortly before the cataclysm, Godzilla had fought his nemesis, a golden dragon who had sought to tear Earth asunder and reconstruct it in their twisted image. Due to human intervention, he had almost died in one of the battles. But the thing about humans, something he had realized a long time ago, was that when they committed atrocity, other humans would be there to remedy it the best they could.

So, at the cost of the ancient city and the life of one man, they had revived Godzilla and increased his power even further.

Swimming over this desolate crater, he aimlessly drifted. What was the point of this all? Was he truly going to just abandon all he had strived for, and just let new colossi rule? The fact that he had chosen to get up at all clearly meant there was something in his heart, otherwise, he would have just continued to lay down until he faded away.

It was then that he saw it, lying on the rim. It was a glimmer of white within a mound of silt. The former king swam up to it, brushing away some of the filth to reveal more of what lay beneath. The sight of bones began to reawaken memories, causing him to frantically clear off more and more until it all became painfully clear.

Before him lay the skeleton of a quadruped, with small spikes running down his back, a maw of sharp fangs, and crown of horns.

***

The blackened skies crackled with sickly yellow lightning. Hovering in these horrid heavens was the golden fiend, three heads looking down with foul sneers and glares that radiated pride.

Throughout the city of stone and wood, titans waged war. Those fighting on the side of Godzilla, for the Earth itself. Their opposition, those on the side of King Ghidorah, fighting for the sake of preserving themselves for fear of the false king’s wrath.

The king of the monsters looked up at his towering foe, made even grander looking with their lofty position. Directly above him, shining like a glorious beacon, the queen of the monsters.

From above, the volcanic avian chirped with anger. Rodan’s mate had been slain by the invader and he was determined to get vengeance.

And by Godzilla’s side, unafraid of the devil laying siege to creation, his other closest ally. Anguirus, the Fierce Prehistoric Dragon. The brown-scaled fire monster let out a sharp roar, mocking King Ghidorah and showing only the stubborn fury that had gotten him to be the Alpha’s second in command.

As one, the king, queen, rogue, and general charged into battle, their cruel adversary swooping down to meet them for the battle to determine the fate of all.

***

What would Anguirus have thought of his current state? Languishing in misery as the surface was assailed by selfish divinities. The spike-coated titan would have been outraged at such a shameful display. Yet, he would have been encouraging as well, demanding that Godzilla go up and face them all, being by his side all the while.

Looking up, the alpha titan made his decision.

Soon, the waters near a beach began to recede. They rushed forth in the form of a tsunami, dampening the sands as the towering form of Godzilla arose. He planted his feet on the soggy beach, staring off into the horizon. The moon dangled in the sky like a gem, illuminating the darkness.

He could have trekked across the world, hunting them all down one by one. But, if they were truly able to come back from death, what would be the point? No, he had an idea. The Draconians were all connected, this he could tell. They all arose at the same time, their auras all felt similar, and their battles had reshaped the Earth in an almost purposeful manner despite being madness.

Perhaps, if they all died, they would remain dead?

It was foolish, but he saw no other course. And so, with that, he breathed in deeply. Godzilla leaned forward, letting loose the mightiest roar the world had heard in a long time.

Most did not hear it, for when the call had traveled out, at a certain point it turned into a signal that most ears could not pick up. But the ones he needed to hear this declaration, they heard it all too well.

Surrounded by molten rock and towering fires, he resembled a crimson Tyrannosaurus Rex. Stripes black as the night ran down his back. The eyes of a tyrant surveyed the decimation, basking in the death and destruction. Diablo, the god of evil, destruction, and fire had been spawned by Hell itself.

The frigid tundra was calm, the cold wind blowing gently through it. Standing tall, surrounded by bowing and chanting people, was a bipedal ape. His skin was the color of the frost around him, his voluminous fur silver and brown. This deity looked upon his people fondly, smiling. Blizzard, the god of nobility, wisdom, and water fought to preserve life and its natural progression.

Death’s stench permeated the air, as did the grotesque sounds of feasting. A pile of mutilated corpses was taken into the maw of a yellow and purple theropod, who devoured it like he had not had a meal in eons. Remnants of past meals eaten minutes ago stained the ground around him. Sauron, the god of hunger, thirst, and eternity had an unending void in his stomach that he was forced to nigh-constantly fill.

Filth and bodily waste caked every surface of the “city”. People who had given into their most base instincts, even more primitive and simple than the first humans had been, populated this cesspool. And at the center of this, rested their lord, laying in a bath of diseased waste. Another bipedal ape, with deathly grey skin and garnish pink fur. Chaos, “god” of decay, evolution, and witchcraft had once been a man before hubris overtook him.

Maddening baffling filled the grassy plains as droves of people praised their goddess-queen, speaking words that even they did not understand as their minds were slowly shattered. She let out laughter that would make the bravest warriors fall into the fetal position in terror. Resembling a blue cobra with spindly limbs like that of a dinosaur, she basked in the growing madness. Vertigo, goddess of insanity, sorcery, and the moon had once been a sorceress from another realm, hellbent on global domination.

Below the Earth’s surface sat a beast loved by many, for his worshippers were treated with respect. The god of balance, earth, and peace meditated in his chambers. He resembled an ankylosaur, only bipedal, yellow and brown scales covered his body from head to toe. Armadon felt that something was coming, though not aware of what this potential threat was he needed to prepare all the same.

In a peaceful valley sat a tribe of meat-eaters. The god of survival, protection, and harmony sat among his kin, basking in the sun’s light. Feathers pointed out the back of his neck, patterns of orange, black, and white covered the raptor’s body. Talon was filled with joy as he watched the future of his species play in the fields of his people’s land.

Birds chirped outside his domain, the early morning rising, awakening what remained of animals in the area… except for one. In his cave lay the god of the hunt, combat, and honor. A bipedal, brown and orange cat with gigantic twin fangs hanging from his maw, Slash Fang rested. Yawning as a few of the sun’s rays passed through cracks in the cave.

The gods were shaken from their respective stupors when the call of Godzilla reached them, challenging all of them.

Diablo snarled in outrage. How dare he be challenged by a life form who wasn’t even a god!?

Blizzard sighed. Something about this call made him think that it was a being that, on any other occasion, he would have fought alongside. But, if it sought to destroy him, so be it.

Sauron’s eyes widened. Such a powerful call, such a massive being to have made it. Such a bountiful feast!

Chaos awoke, sending small rivers of filthy water flowing from the pile that had formed his bed. He would feel no remorse in destroying this challenger, drowning them in filth for daring to provoke him.

Vertigo flinched, then looked towards the direction of the call. Another fool to fall before her. Did this one truly think it could overcome her magic?

Armadon looked to the surface, feeling a strange familiarity with this roar. Yet the wrath filling it still spurned him into action, especially with how it sought his demise as well.

Talon felt his heart sink. Some beast had arisen from the ocean, and the call alone convinced him it was something immense in all regards. His loyal followers, both raptor and human, would be powerless if it came for him here. For the sake of his spawn, he knew he must fight.

Slash Fang grinned, flexing his claws as he awoke. He emerged from his cave, feeling his blood pumping at the thought of fighting such a mighty-sounding foe. For it to challenge all of the gods, it was either totally foolish or something none of them had ever seen. Either way, the sabertooth was happy.

All the while, in an absolutely gargantuan crater, something waited. Gestating in a grotesque cocoon in the center, necrotic and pulsating. It stirred at the sound of the call, then went still.

Not yet, considered the mind within. Soon.

Hours passed, and even as the gods managed to catch glances of each other during their travels, they did not engage each other. This needed to be dealt with first, no matter what. The lords of Urth congregated, approaching the beach where their challenger awaited.

All eight barely kept themselves restrained as they moved near each other, wanting to lash out and rip into their rivals. This faded, as did the blind pride of those more self-absorbed when they reached their destination.

Godzilla made all of them look small. Even Sauron, the largest among them, felt himself feeling diminutive before this. And as the alpha titan’s eyes passed over them all, the gods felt some fear creep into their hearts. Not enough to make them flee, but enough to make even Diablo and Vertigo consider that there was a chance of failure.

For the eyes were the windows to the soul, and in this soul, they saw wrath to incinerate all the Draconians had built, backed up by the power to make it so.

As the eight gods before him stared upon his form, memories flashed in Godzilla’s mind. Each beast reminding him of an enemy or ally of his past. The disgusting, rotting ape reminded him of the smog monster that descended from the stars. The spiked beast resembled his best ally of Anguirus, and though faint, he did recognize this one. The gigantic feline stood on his back legs, ready for combat, his stance resembling the guardian of Okinawa. The noble ape filled the monster king with rage, his fateful battle with Kong flashed before his eyes, the ancient rivalry boiling his blood with anger. Though he had met many theropods, he couldn’t help but think of Gorosaurus when he looked upon the yellow and purple Sauron. As the raptor circled around him, he was reminded of the mutant iguana he once faced. Whatever that serpentine beast was, he could feel the pure insanity surrounding it. He couldn’t help but be reminded of the invasive Skull Crawlers due to their snake-like appearance.

But then he saw HIM. The demonic Tyrannosaurus. He had remembered his battle with the demon, forcing him back into the hellish abyss with the aid of his fellow titans. Godzilla snarled as he stared at the fire theropod, this time he would end the monster’s life.

All was silent for a moment, no one making a move. The tension swiftly built higher and higher, emotions rising like a rocket. And then…

With a chorus of roars, all hell broke loose.

The new gods charged at Godzilla from all directions, each hellbent on killing the intruder. The titan king turned with remarkable speed, smacking those that were in front of him across the ground. Talon leaped onto Godzilla’s back, making sure he wasn’t stabbed by the giant’s dorsal spines as he slashed into the scales of the behemoth. Godzilla roared with fury as he attempted to shake off the raptor, only for the god to hold on for dear life.

Armadon charged forward, slamming his head into the giant’s side. Godzilla tumbled backward before catching himself as Talon flew off, crashing into the ground before shaking it off and jumping towards the nuclear leviathan. Godzilla reached out, catching the raptor in midair before slamming him on the ground, the very earth below cracking as a result. Armadon charged once again, only for Godzilla to kick back across the god’s head, knocking the ankylosaur on his back. Diablo returned to his feet, rage fueling the demon as he charged forth, spewing fire as he approached the ancient alpha predator. Godzilla raised his hand, protecting his face from the hellfire. Godzilla growled as the fire blasted his hand, it burned more than regular flame, usually, he could just bypass it unaffected but the tyrannosaurus was strong. He would need to be dealt with and fast.

Godzilla charged forward at the demon, wrapping his hand around Diablo’s throat and throwing him at Vertigo, the two falling into the ground as Diablo crashed into the goddess. Dorsal spines began to illuminate blue, lighting up the night with a beautiful hue. The gods looked in awe and fear as Godzilla unleashed his atomic blast at the downed pair, Vertigo screamed in pain as she was bathed in radiation. Diablo shook his head back and forth as he rose to his feet, his rage fueling him. He would not let some abomination kill him. The demon once again unleashed a stream of hellfire, pushing back the atomic breath. The two locked eyes as they waited for the victor of the struggle.

Godzilla roared in pain as the flames overpowered his attack, backing away before swiping his tail at Diablo, knocking him into the ground.

A powerful bellow filled the air as Sauron slammed his bulk into his foe’s side, staggering the leviathan. The mighty jaws of the god of hunger clamped down onto one of Godzilla’s arms, teeth scraping against reinforced scales as the theropod desired to taste the alpha’s flesh. With a growl, the fierce protector of nature slashed Sauron across the chest, sending out sparks and freeing blood to drip down. The yellow saurian backpedaled, snarling at his foe.

Frigid wind scourged Godzilla’s back, moments before a strong blow crashed into his thigh. Turning his head, he saw Blizzard, the ape’s teeth bared in a display of intimidation. The god of nobility leapt out of the way of a retaliatory strike, landing a fair distance away. Godzilla began to charge, only for a large blob of green fluid to splash against his face, drawing a roar of shock as he tried to shake it away. Though his vision was obscured, he did not need it to tell which of his foes was rushing towards him.

For Chaos’ scent gave him away as he bashed his shoulder into the alpha’s stomach, forcing him back a step. Godzilla was blindsided immediately afterwards by Blizzard leaping back into the fray, a punch across the face ceasing whatever attack he was going to use against Chaos. The two apes shared a glance, the natural one of the two feeling his stomach churn for multiple reasons. It was like staring into a broken, warped mirror. The corrupted sorcerer shared a similar disdain for his counterpart.

But neither cared much for this when Godzilla's eyes cleared and he bashed his meaty fists against their skulls, nearly toppling them. A projectile resembling a spike with purple rings around it soared forth from Sauron’s maw, making the nuclear monster stumble. Blizzard opened his maw as his doppelgänger turned in place, sticking his butt in the air. Twin clouds of gas left the ape deities, one of blue frost and the other of greenish-brown toxin. Godzilla was enshrouded by both, sending him into a coughing fit as chills radiated down him.

The fumes were dispelled when a geyser of atomic fire left Godzilla’s maw once more, scorching the apes and sending them retreating as burns marked their torsos. He turned, sweeping it towards Sauron, who had a similar reaction. Unfortunately for Godzilla, he received not a moment of rest as suddenly he was set upon once more by Talon and Slash Fang.

The two dashed by him, sending sparks flying as they dragged their claws across his legs. The divine feline turned, leaping into the air and spinning with his arms extended, carving a multitude of shallow grooves into the scales of his monolithic foe. Talon took advantage of the daze his opponent was in from his ally’s assault by hopping up and clamping his jaws onto the alpha’s face, talons trying to dig in best they could to keep him from being dislodged. This proved fruitless when Godzilla swung his head around, sending Talon careening into Slash Fang, knocking both down and tumbling over one another. Both were quickly back on their feet, and things had only grown more complex for the alpha.

Suddenly, Vertigo manifested next to him, unfurling from being curled up. From her maw came a projectile of acid, which sizzled when it splashed onto the monster king’s chest. She backed away from his swiping claws, just in time for the speedy duo to rush back in, and both became blurs of limbs as they swung madly. Godzilla was forced to backpedal, allowing Vertigo the opportunity to lash out with her tail, jabbing it into his skin and leaving tiny holes in the armor.

Both of the swift gods were sent rolling away with a backhand before Godzilla turned and rushed towards the serpent goddess. He bellowed in rage, flexing his claws. She merely curled back up on the ground, vanishing just before he could attack her. Turning, he was met with her again, tail curled over her head as she waved her arms and head to send out rings of blue. They disappeared upon reaching Godzilla, his vision going blurry. He stumbled back, shaking his head to try and clear it.

Armadon, now curled up into a spike-coated sphere, bashed into Godzilla’s legs. With a roar of pain and confusion, he tumbled to the ground, sending up plumes of dust. Diablo, back on his feet, took advantage by opening his jaws wide and exhaling a wide plume of hellfire. The shriek of anguish echoed across the landscape, spurning the rest back into action.

The fire faded in time for Sauron to come leaping in, crashing both heels against Godzilla’s side. His tail swung around, bashing against the alpha’s face, sending the side of it smashing against the sand. The nuclear leviathan grabbed his foe’s leg, pushing the hungry god off his body and onto the ground next to him. Godzilla began to climb back up, eyes locked onto Sauron with wrathful intent, only for Armadon to come crashing down, back first.

Spikes dug into scale and skin. When the god of the earth freed himself, they soon discovered blood staining his spikes and flowing from Godzilla’s hide. Driven by adrenaline, the monster king was back on his feet almost instantly, robbing Armadon of his moment of victory by twirling in place. The ankylosaur-like god was able to turn just in time to witness the mighty tail coming towards him, just before it crashed into his chest and sent him flying away. The world blurred as he rolled through the air, before slamming into the ocean like a cannonball. Waves rushed over the beach, submerging the combatants’ ankles.

Godzilla walked towards Armadon, blood falling from his side and soaking the sands below as he approached. A feeling of disappointment filled his mind, he didn’t know where he recognized this beast but he knew at one point… they were friends.

Armadon shook his head back and forth, trying to regain his composure. The god of balance knew this opponent would be the hardest he would ever face, he would need to keep his strength in order to see the light of day once again.

The god roared as he charged forward at Godzilla. Slamming his body weight into the giant’s torso, attempting to push him back with his strength, only for it to be in vain. Godzilla stared down before reaching for Armadon’s arm and pulling the god off of him, throwing him into the sand below and stomping on his head repeatedly. Armadon roared in pain as his head was being buried, blood rushing from his nostrils, staining the sands with crimson.

Blizzard roared as he grabbed Godzilla’s arm and bit into the scaly flesh, blood filling his maw. The noble ape held on as the giant shook, attempting to throw the ape off, only for Blizzard to hold on. The god of water wrapped his hands around Godzilla’s arm, attempting to freeze over the scales, only for the alpha to throw Blizzard onto the ground and lift his leg before slamming him into the sand, releasing his grip and letting out a roar of anguish.

Slash Fang charged on all fours from the left, hoping to save his fellow noble god. Diablo charged with rage from the right, hoping to finally end this charade. Godzilla saw both in the corner of his eyes and as they jumped forward, he caught the pair in his hands before slamming them together and tossing them aside. Blood fell from their maws as they quickly rose back to their feet.

Armadon rose back to his feet, watching as his fellow gods struggled to even stagger the nuclear behemoth. They needed a plan, not brute force. The god of balance roared out to Talon and Slash Fang, calling for their attention, only by working together would they be able to defeat this beast. The two nodded in affirmation, then turned their attention back to their monolithic adversary.

The feline warrior swung his claws through the open air, sending out crescents of glowing energy. They dug shallow grooves into the armor of the leviathan, earning a growl from him. The raptor and the sabertooth ran in opposite directions, Godzilla shifting his gaze back and forth to ensure he did not lose track of either.

Armadon’s eyes were closed, his mind reaching out to his allies. Telling them to wait, just a little longer. Godzilla was too busy trying to keep track of the swift duo that he did not notice the filth-drenched projectile approaching him until it was too late. Chaos, curled up like a ball, careened into Godzilla’s face and chest, sending him stumbling back.

Now, the god of balance commanded his allies. He, along with Talon and Slash Fang, charged at once from three separate directions. Godzilla had tried to keep Blizzard pinned down as he engaged Chaos, but he found this a fruitless effort when both his sides and back were assailed at once, the god of decay continuing to swing his fists at the leviathan's front.

Armadon’s horn dug into the alpha’s back as Talon and Slash Fang clung to him, slashing away with their claws in an attempt to tear through. Chaos vomited up another projectile, which splattered against the monster king’s torso. Blizzard got to his feet with an uppercut to Godzilla’s stomach, putting further distance between the two as the alpha staggered away.

Godzilla roared in pain as he tried to shake off his opponents only for Diablo to bite into his tail, shaking his head back and forth as he attempted to rip the limb off. Blood sprayed into his maw, he had missed the copper taste. Godzilla squealed before throwing the tyrannosaurus with all of his strength off his tail, the fire monster crashing into the beach.

Adrenaline filled his veins, anger and determination fueling his actions as he thrashed his way out of the hold. Talon and Slash Fang flew across the ground as Blizzard backed away. Godzilla turned around and looked into Armadon’s eyes before kicking him away, blood pouring from the wound. No more games, they all needed to die.

Talon roared as he quickly slashed at Godzilla’s skin, carving into flesh before Godzilla swept his tail with impressive speed, smacking Talon into the air…

The gods fell silent.

Talon flew into the sky, a giant gash from his neck to lower torso pouring blood onto the sand below as the corpse crashed down. His eyes rolled into the back of his head, his tongue hung from his maw, and his body was motionless. Godzilla turned his attention towards the others, one down… seven to go.

They all looked at each other with fear, if he could kill one of them it was possible for this intruder to slaughter them all like simple commoners.

Before anyone could figure out a plan, Vertigo teleported on top of Godzilla and bit into his neck, sending venom running through his veins. The monster king attempted to swipe at Vertigo only for the avatar of insanity to teleport away, standing beside her fellow gods.

Godzilla’s vision became slightly blurry, his muscles becoming tense as he attempted to step forward, only for his movements to become sluggish and disoriented. The nuclear behemoth could feel that he was weakened, what the hell did she do to him?

Vertigo smiled as she watched Godzilla approach, feeling pride that she would be the one to bring down this mighty titan. Chaos pounded his chest repeatedly, trying to intimidate the king, only for him to ignore the ape and charge headfirst at Vertigo, knocking Chaos to the side.

The serpent’s tail stabbed forth once more, jabbing into the monster king’s hide as he tried to block it with his arm. Several strikes landed, avoiding his limb with expert precision. But despite the disorientation, Godzilla’s mind was still mostly sharp. The stinger sank into his belly once more, piercing deep enough to draw blood, when one of his hands gripped the tail before the mad goddess could retract it. Vertigo cringed as she felt the appendage be crushed, the immense pressure of her foe’s grip almost unbearable even with his weakening. Godzilla lifted and pulled towards himself, sending his foe towards him despite her best efforts to remain still.

Chaos got to his feet, swinging a dual punch into his foe’s side, allowing Vertigo to free her tail. The alpha looked to the god of decay and attempted to slash across his chest. But the slow strike was easily dodged and countered, Chaos smacking the monster king across the face.

Sauron re-entered the battle with a flying headbutt, sending Godzilla to the ground. The god of hunger seized the opportunity, biting down on the wounded flesh of his enemy and feeling blood on his teeth and tongue once again. It was an odd taste, certainly like nothing he had tasted before. Godzilla shakily whipped his tail against the hungry god’s leg, making the theropod back away as he shrieked in pain, before climbing to his feet.

Anger struggled against pain as Godzilla lunged forward, grappling Sauron. The god of hunger breathed in, as the teeth of the alpha sank into his skin and tore into muscle, before letting out a horrific roar that made the nuclear leviathan back away as he clutched his ears. He could see nothing, even the enemy just before him was utterly obscured by the clouds enshrouding his mind.

Fire and frost assailed his form, the culprits obvious even if he could not see them. A heavy body slammed into his, small claws scraping against his hide as teeth began to tear into him once more. Godzilla focused, calling upon his internal reserves of power. He could feel the nuclear energy traveling up his body, crawling up to his throat. Sauron was no longer touching him, but the footsteps of the theropod still gave away his position.

Godzilla’s vision grew clearer as he released his atomic ray, some of the toxins being forced out of his system, along with more being denatured by the heat coursing through him. The scream of agony from Sauron was a nice bonus, the ravenous theropod being thrown to the ground and badly burnt.

Chaos grabbed his foe by the tail, attempting to lift Godzilla off the ground and throw him. For as strong as the foul ape was, quickly lifting something over twice his weight up was beyond him. The monster king pulled his tail free, before whipping it across Chaos’ face and knocking him to the ground.

Vertigo manifested next to Godzilla, maw wide open and fangs bared. The alpha was prepared this time, and bashed her away with a fist to the gut, preventing her bite from occurring. She could see green beginning to flow from the monster king’s wounds, infuriating her even further as she realized he was forcing her venom out of his system somehow. No matter, if he did have a regeneration factor, it was nothing that more venom could not solve!

She sent out more hypnotic waves, stunning Godzilla. Vertigo charged forward, intent on quickly burying her fangs in when Chaos swung a punch across their shared foe’s face. The monster king was freed of his stupor, before grabbing the ape by the arm and hurling him into Vertigo.

She quickly pushed the foul ape off, hissing at him for ruining her plan. Chaos looked at her, snarling. He would not be made a fool of by something which was not even a god!

Armadon joined Blizzard as Diablo rushed forward, the two benevolent deities sharing a glance. The god of balance slumped over, even his grand durability not keeping him from being agonized by the beating he had endured. Blizzard offered Armadon a shoulder to lean on for a moment, as the two tried to recuperate enough to properly join the fray. Slash Fang stood away from them, keeping a distance as he observed the fight carefully, his warrior’s mind analyzing it.

Diablo bit down on one of Godzilla’s arms, trying to break the limb with his powerful jaws. The monster king’s other hand clamped around the cruel god’s neck, pulling him away before Godzilla lunged down and bit into Diablo’s face. A stream of fire stopped the nuclear leviathan from doing more than leaving a ring of puncture wounds.

Suddenly, intense agony erupted along Godzilla’s back, as if a great river of acid was falling upon him. Turning his head, what he saw ignited absolute fury in his heart.

Chaos, urinating upon him.

No words could describe the wrath in the ancient guardian’s heart when he saw such a shameful attack being used upon him. So, he communicated it with action. A pillar of atomic death erupted from his opened mouth, vaporizing the stream of piss on its way to the walking cesspool.

Skin and muscle were incinerated as Chaos took the full brunt of the ray, his pelvic bone being blackened in the process. The god of decay dropped like a stone, his last thoughts being agony and shame at his deadliest attack being thwarted so easily.

A massive patch of warped, burnt skin marred Godzilla’s back, flaring with pain every time the muscle twitched.

They turned towards the burnt corpse, Chaos was dead, for better or for worse. Though the gods had no love for the false prophet, they did fear what was to come next. Godzilla turned around, glancing at the gods before him, flexing his claws and snarling before charging. Slash Fang ran headfirst with a smile, though the situation was dire, he was happy to fight such a worthy foe. The sabretooth raised his hands in an attempt to grab Godzilla, only for the ancient predator to wrap his hands around Slash Fang’s and push back. The god of the hunt attempted to keep his balance, only to be quickly overpowered by the monster king. Godzilla reached down and bit into Slash Fang’s shoulder and lifted him off the ground before tossing him to the side.

The sabretooth tiger quickly rolled to his feet and charged once again, running on all four before jumping and biting into Godzilla’s hand, puncturing through the skin and muscle, leaving two gigantic holes. The ancient predator roared with fury as he grabbed Slash Fang by the neck and slammed him into the ground, lifting his leg to finish him off, only for Armadon to slam into his side, causing him to fall onto the ground.

The bipedal ankylosaur began to slam his fists repeatedly into Godzilla’s stomach before turning and swinging his tail at the downed titan, striking him with immense force, forcing a roar of anguish out of the king. Armadon went to swing his tail once more, only for the titan king to grab it mid-swing and pull as he rose to his feet before raising him above his head and slamming him into Slash Fang repeatedly. Cracks forming under the immense weight and power of the strikes before Blizzard rushed to his fellow benevolent gods’ aid, pulling the titan king’s tail and attempting to freeze the giant. Godzilla pulled his tail from Blizzard’s grasp before swinging downward, striking the ape across the face, drawing blood from the god of wisdom as he fell onto the ground. Backing away before another strike came down and placing his hand on his face, looking in horror as he saw that his opponent had drawn blood.

Sauron snapped his jaws with violent intent, his eyes darting towards Godzilla. He needed to feast upon his flesh, the very thought made him drool uncontrollably as he charged at the mighty king. The loud stomps signaling his approach, Godzilla swung Armadon in the direction of the sound, only to miss. The king’s eyes widened as he looked up and saw Sauron falling onto him, something of that size usually wouldn’t have that agility. Godzilla roared as the tyrannosaurus bit into his shoulder, drawing blood as he shook his head violently, forcing Armadon from Godzilla’s grasp.

Armadon stumbled to his feet, suffering a concussion from the beating he had endured. The god of balance walked away, putting his weight onto a rock side. He was trying to keep his balance as he looked behind him, watching as Godzilla managed to force Sauron off of him, blasting him with atomic energy. He looked behind the pair, seeing Slash Fang struggle for breath as he crawled away from the small crater.

Godzilla rose to his feet, staring at Armadon as he approached. The god of urth took in a deep breath as he closed his eyes.

The god of balance’s mind reached out to his foe’s, forming a connection. Perhaps he could learn of a weakness, something to exploit, anything. Witnessing the thoughts of the leviathan instead placed the last piece of the puzzle in Armadon’s head as to why he recognized this being. Godzilla turned, locking eyes with him.

They had fought together once upon a time, side by side against threats to the Earth. The last they remembered of each other was being the last two charging into battle against the demonic tyrannosaur, forcing Diablo back into hell.

“Why, my friend? Why have you started this?” He questioned the alpha titan, his ancient voice ringing in his foe’s head. Godzilla replied with a growl, his emotions beginning to flare. The constant warring between the gods was ruining his home, killing off the humans and titans he had pledged his life to protect.

Armadon could not argue with him on that. “But, what do you hope to accomplish? Why not join me and Blizzard, with your help we’d be unstoppable!” The ankylosaur-like biped felt Godzilla’s heart sink at that. If he had a choice, the leviathan would have joined them immediately, he would never want to kill fellow guardians!

But the gods always came back, no matter how often they were mutilated and slaughtered. “Then why fight us all at once!?” Armadon demanded, feeling his fists clench.

Godzilla knew full well of balances, and of interconnected systems to keep them sustained. The Draconians maintained a fragile one. Armadon remembered how they had all been locked away the first time due to said balance being upset by Vertigo’s imprisonment upon the moon. So when Godzilla revealed that he believed all of them being killed at once would keep them all dead, Armadon was genuinely taken aback.

That… could possibly work?

Their conversation was interrupted by Blizzard and Diablo rushing in, the former swinging a punch across the monster king’s face as the latter slammed the top of his head against Godzilla’s chest. Rage returned to Godzilla’s form as he wrapped his hands around Diablo’s head, holding him in place as he headbutted the demon before tossing him to the side and slashing at Blizzard’s chest, the ape jumping away as the talons barely made a mark across flesh. Armadon took a deep breath in as he dragged his feet into the dirt before charging forward, adrenaline running through his veins, ready to fight to his very last breath. Though a part of him agreed with Godzilla’s assessment, he wouldn’t just die in the dirt like a dog without a fight.

Godzilla turned his attention towards the charging Armadon, swinging his tail, striking him against the face, forcing the god into the dirt face first. The dinosaur struggled to get onto his feet, coughing blood onto the ground, the battle with his former ally had taken a toll upon him. The nuclear leviathan walked over, grabbing the horn and ripping it off his head, making Armadon scream in pain as Godzilla lifted him by his neck. Blizzard roared with fury, he wouldn’t stand by as a fellow god of peace died. The ape charged, roaring as he jumped. Atomic energy climbed up the king’s throat before exiting his maw, striking Blizzard across the chest, a scream of pain exiting the jaws of the god as he fell onto his back.

The king once again turned his attention towards Armadon with sorrow in his heart, quickly he jabbed the horn into Armadon’s throat, a tear falling from Godzilla’s face as he put down his long time friend. As he dropped the body, he heard a voice in his head. “I hope you are right… old friend…” Armadon dropped to the ground as nothing more than a lifeless corpse, the king’s heart sinking as he remembered their battle with the demonic reptile lifetimes ago. His resemblance to Anguirus didn’t help matters.

Blizzard once again rose to his feet, rage fueling his actions as he looked upon the corpse of his ally. He slammed the ground with his fists as he howled into the air and charged. Leaping high, he crashed an axe-handle punch into his foe’s face, staggering the colossus. He then thrust his arm up, howling as a pillar of ice emerged from the ground and crashed into Godzilla, inflicting anguish at the frigid temperatures assailing the monster king’s body.

With one hand, the alpha slashed across Blizzard’s chest, spraying blood through the air. The other, balled into a fist, crashed into the wounds, releasing even more holy ichor. The ape backpedaled, groaning in anguish at his wounds. Slash Fang rushed in, determined to save his fellow mammalian god. A cutting wave slashed into one of Godzilla’s wounds, earning a pained bellow.

The god of nobility crashed an uppercut into Godzilla’s chin, at the same time Slash Fang leaping onto the alpha’s side and tearing into him. Vertigo manifested nearby, lashing out with her claws, before disappearing once more. Reappearing, her badly bruised tail jabbed out, piercing an already present wound and freeing more radioactive vital fluids.

Godzilla’s jaws clamped down onto Slash Fang’s wrist, threatening to crush the bone as his teeth dug into it. In response, the feline’s other set of claws slashed across the monster king’s neck, slicing into the gills. The god of combat regretted this when the pain only made his foe clench his jaws. Vertigo saved her temporary ally by teleporting next to him, and once again hypnotizing Godzilla. To her chagrin, the alpha snapped out of it almost immediately, but Slash Fang was still able to free his now blood-soaked hand. Favoring his other hand, the sabertooth leaped backward as Vertigo vanished once more.

Blizzard backed away as Sauron rushed back in, nearly knocking the ape over as he leapt bodily into their shared foe. Immediately being back on his feet, the theropod unleashed another sonic projectile at point-blank, making Godzilla stumble as his ears rang. The god of hunger bit down on his foe’s leg, enjoying the taste of blood and meat filling his mouth.

Godzilla’s claws dragged across Sauron’s face, one sinking into the theropod’s eye and rupturing the gelatinous mass. The eternally hungry deity backed away, relinquishing his grip and screaming loud enough to let the whole world know of his agony.

Enduring the harrowing sound obscuring all other noise, the monster king barged forward, crashing his own bulk against Sauron, hurling the latter down to the earth below. Godzilla raised an elephantine foot, before stomping it down on his foe’s tail, mangling the limb.

Vertigo appeared next to the alpha, biting down on his calf. She could not inject her venom before being dislodged by her foe moving his legs, then crashing his other foot into her legs. Sauron was back on his feet, whipping his cranium against Godzilla’s side. Vertigo spat venom onto one of the monster king’s wounds, irritating the injury and forcing a cry of pain from him.

Turning towards her, sending Sauron stumbling with the whack of his tail, Godzilla charged towards the serpent. She began to curl up, only for her vanishing to be halted by a powerful kick to the gut, backed up by Godzilla’s momentum, to send her hurtling backward and rolling across the sands.

Teeth sank into the monster king’s tail, threatening to sever its end. Sauron remained clamped onto it even as blue light began to travel up the spines, hoping to do some real damage. His deadly bite worked its way through flesh, his wretched teeth beginning to scrape against bone.

That was all they could reach before Sauron was pushed away by an atomic ray. Suddenly, Vertigo was next to Godzilla, waving her arms and head like she did for her hypnosis, only this time when the waves struck the monster king he felt different. His whole body felt ill, like she was trying to alter his very being.

The mad goddess was going to cackle in uproarious joy when she was done with this. She was on the verge of petrifying him, reducing him to a stone statue which she would casually tear apart! This monster who had killed several gods, brought down by her sorcery. Where such primitive things as physical strength had fallen, her mind would overcome with her wicked powers!

Godzilla focused, his atomic system still freshly ready to unleash his power. He resisted the assault for the moment it took for his mouth to open, his throat glowing with nuclear fire. Vertigo cursed everything she could think of as her midsection was blasted, launching her away like paper as her flesh boiled.

The monster king slumped over, gasping for breath. There was a booming sound behind him, then the whistling of something heavy sailing through the air. It was rising higher and higher, over his head, before suddenly beginning to drop.

Above him, Sauron fell like a brick, feet aimed downwards. If his temporary allies were pulling out all the stops, it was time for him to do so as well. None had ever survived his Grape Stomp technique. He grinned, awaiting the sound of his foe’s neck-snapping like a twig.

Godzilla looked straight up, unleashing another atomic ray, intercepting Sauron’s fall and keeping him held aloft for a moment. The god of hunger screamed in anguish as he was swirled at the end of the fountain of death. Then, it faded, and he dropped down in front of his towering enemy, unable to rise. Smoke curled off his body, yet still, he was alive, just struggling to get up at the moment.

Godzilla fixed that issue by reaching down, grabbing hold of the theropod’s upper and lower jaws, and pulling them open. Sauron let out a cry of genuine fear before the monster king unleashed another beam directly down the god of hunger’s throat.

The eternally hungry’s last meal was one of blazing agony as his esophagus was vaporized. The nuclear flames traveled down further, reducing the organs into smoke and boiled sludge.

Sauron’s head came free of his now burning body, which plummeted to the sand below. Godzilla dropped the skull, before turning towards Vertigo. She was not where she had been sent away.

The serpent goddess appeared next to him suddenly, only to have one of his hands wrap around her throat immediately.

Far away, something sensed the divine deaths and began to stir once more. The energy released by such brutal demises pleased it, urging it to arise.

Around a thousand years ago, the Earth was forever changed. The cataclysm which gave rise to the second reign of the Draconians occurred in the form of numerous asteroid impacts, including one absolutely massive rock of the kind to blot out the skies and induce a mass extinction.

But for all this time, it had been assumed that it was merely random chance, the indifferent universe, and all its chaos. None questioned it, because what was there to question?

In the depths of the grandest crater, within its center, the foul cocoon twitched and sprayed fluids.

The Earth had not become the Urth by a roll of the dice, but by the will of a horrid aberration. For the most immense asteroid had been an egg, implanted upon the earth to wait for the proper time. The correct window to purge the world of all life and turn them into the carriers of its brood, to wage a cosmic war.

And what better time to arise and commit such a deed than Ragnarok?

Spikes of bone ripped through the cocoon from within, peeling it apart and revealing themselves to be the fingers of gigantic hands sprouting from the back of this cosmic parasite like wings. A skinless being stepped out, a theropod-like dragon with muscles a dark purple like the flesh of an asphyxiated corpse. A lengthy, powerful tail waved through the air, tipped with a wicked stinger. Hollow eyes within an exposed skull observed the landscape.

Necrosan basked in the death permeating the air. He longed to massacre the gods and turn their loyal followers into hosts for his parasitic children, but first, he needed to satiate his most pressing desire. Such a mighty foe, this “Godzilla”. To fight him would truly be a glorious battle, to crush his spirit and body would be a feat to make the heavens and hells tremble. He was exhilarated to test his power on the king of the monsters.

And even more so to drain his bountiful life energy and leave the Earth’s mightiest being a shriveled corpse.

Reaching out with his hands, Necrosan carved into the air and began to tear a hole into the fabric of reality. It was finally time!

Back on the beach, Godzilla began to strangle the goddess of insanity. Vertigo looked upon the king, his wounds healing but not as fast as before, maybe just maybe she could kill the infidel. Her neck began to snap, she could feel the pressure building by the second. She attempted to hiss at the titan only for her neck to break, her eyes rolling in the back of her head and her body falling limp. The goddess of the moon was dead. Godzilla dropped the corpse onto the sands as he turned to the other three gods that remained.

Diablo, Blizzard, and Slash Fang all looked at each other. This beast had slain their comrades as if they were pigs in a slaughterhouse and though they knew their chances of beating the leviathan were low, they knew they couldn’t just let the beast walk away free.

The three roared and as Godzilla was about to do the same a fourth roar echoed throughout the sky.

They all looked up into the heavens, staring at the moon, looking upon the monster that made the roar. The god of oblivion, darkness, & resurrection stood hovering in the air looking upon his prey and his fellow deities, smiling with excitement as he landed below, kicking up sand and water vapor. He stared at Godzilla, licking his bone like lips in anticipation.

The monster king stared at this new beast with fury, this one reminded him of a skeletal draconic that fell from the stars long ago. He knew of that one’s destructive power and this being had an aura of death, he could feel that this was the one that was responsible for this hell. The dominos falling into place as this being descended from the heavens. Rage fueled the king as he charged forth, ready to avenge all those that were lost in the great catastrophe.

Necrosan charged forth at full speed, kicking up sand and rock as he slammed into Godzilla’s hide. The monster king gasped for air as Necrosan slammed into him like a bullet train, the skeletal draconic was fast and incredibly strong, he would need to be slain and fast. Godzilla attempted to slam Necrosan into the ground, only for the alien to strike him again, drawing blood before kicking him away. The god of oblivion licked his talons, eating the blood before once again charging forth at the king. Godzilla raised his hand, going in for a punch, Necrosan raised his own fist as he approached. The two titans slammed their fists together, creating a shockwave for miles. Godzilla roared in pain as he backed away and grasped his hand, while Necrosan shot out lightning from his wings, energy coursing through Godzilla’s body as he screamed in pain.

Diablo charged headfirst at Godzilla, firing his hellfire at the downed titan, aiming for the gills on his neck. Godzilla roared in agony as the flames burned the inside of his gills, the nuclear behemoth stepped forward and lashed out at the demon, missing him as he jumped away and roared. Blizzard ran over to the side and grabbed the monster king by the gills, attempting to freeze the sea beast from the inside. Even though the cold was agonizing, he had been frozen before, he could push through.

The mighty titan smacked the ape across the face, sending him flying into a rock wall, sending stone crumbling on top of him. Slash Fang darted forward, the sabretooth was ready to pounce upon the mortal that stood before them. The tiger jumped up in the air, and landed on the side of Godzilla, slicing into flesh with his talons. The king reached for his shoulder, grabbing Slash Fang and throwing him to the ground. Atomic energy climbed up his throat before Diablo slashed at his torso with his claws and Necrosan unleashed energy projectiles at the leviathan, a roar of pain exiting his maw as explosions hit his shoulder. Diablo was blown away by the blast, roaring in pain as he soared through the sky before crashing into the sands, smoke rising from his form as he rose back to his feet.

Slash Fang roared as he jumped back to his feet and charged headfirst, attempting to slash at Godzilla’s arm, only for the titan king to grab Slash Fang by the neck and slam him repeatedly into the ground. The tiger roared in anguish as he began to lose the strength to go on, coughing blood as Godzilla stopped the attack.

The mighty king dropped the god and raised his leg. In his final moments, he couldn’t help but smile. He had fallen to such a worthy opponent, he would die with honor, a death worthy of a warrior. Godzilla slammed his leg into Slash Fang’s head, crushing it into an unrecognizable mush.

Diablo and Blizzard watched with wide eyes the gory scene before them, but what stole their attention was the reaction of their new “ally”. Necrosan watched the horror and shook with laughter, pointing at Slash Fang’s corpse like a child doling out mockery.

The two gods looked at one another. Here they were, the two mightiest of the gods, and the ones at the extreme ends of the spectrum of human morality, finding themselves the weakest parts of this battle for the fate of Urth. On every day before this, they would have been tearing into one another, fueled by their unending hatred for the other.

Yet here they were, side by side as all they and their fellow gods had built collapsed around them.

Necrosan’s back crackled with unholy electricity, which traveled into his pointed forward wings and unleashed a crackling stream of death upon Godzilla. The monster king roared as burning grooves were carved into his body. Swiftly, the god of oblivion was upon his foe once more, slashing at him with his wicked talons. Godzilla replied in kind with his own claws, dragging across the exposed musculature. Tendons snapped, managing to release slight strands of the black bile which coursed through Necrosan’s veins.

A wide laceration was set into Godzilla’s leg by the whipping tail of his vile foe, the dagger of bone at the end piercing through. The alpha predator turned in place, intent on bringing his own mighty tail to bear. Instead of crashing into Necrosan’s legs, the dracolich leapt above it, lunging forward with his cruel jaws and digging them into his foe’s back. Godzilla thrashed, trying to dislodge the fiend, but the teeth of the deathbringer remained deeply embedded.

Necrosan’s wings stretched forward, digging their fingers into Godzilla’s chest, peeling back his armor. One eye looked to his two unwilling allies, boring into their soul and prompting them to both release a projectile of their respective element. The fireball crashed into the exposed flesh, followed shortly by the cloud of frost, making Godzilla seize with anguish at the thermal shock.

Grabbing his foe’s wings, the monster king pulled them away. Releasing one, he yanked hard on the other, ripping Necrosan’s teeth from his back as he hurled the god of death off of him. The destroyer rolled across the ground, ultimately landing on his feet. Godzilla stomped forward, channeling another atomic ray. Death incarnate remained still, seemingly unfazed by the encroaching attack.

When the geyser of azure power raced forth, Necrosan’s talons dug into the air in front of him and pulled down, creating a black wound in the fabric of reality. The atomic ray disappeared into it, cast into some unseen dimension, leaving its target unharmed.

Putting his wings together before him, Necrosan unleashed more energy spheres, which crashed into Godzilla’s ruined chest and tore into it even further. Chunks of meat were torn away and hurled out, falling into the damp sands below. The god of death cackled once more as he rushed forth, avoiding the attempted shoulder tackle by his foe.

If Godzilla had been at his full power, he could have defeated Necrosan. It would have been a battle to shake the heavens and hells, but either one would have had a sizable chance at victory. But as it stood now, the monster king had been put through one of the deadliest fights in his vast life, while Necrosan had arrived at the peak of his power.

In the interstellar parasite’s mind, victory had been assured from the very beginning. Such was the way it was when the hammer of an interstellar empire fell upon a backwater world, populated only by the simple and brutish.

The acid burn on Godzilla’s back had gone mostly numb, due to his sensory system blotting it out as he grew used to it. This changed when the tail blade of his foe sliced into it, like a knife through a cut of meat. Necrosan peeled a vast chasm into the weakened flesh, releasing fresh ichor and pus.

Howling to his allies, the death god beckoned them to come over and aid him. They made no move, not even a step. They just stared at him, snarling. Necrosan let out a shriek that no living creature could make without rending their own throat, before bashing his quivering foe down with a rough blow from his wings. Keeping his eyes locked on the two, he assaulted Godzilla’s prone form with another volley of wing lightning, basking in the screams as flesh peeled away at his foul command.

Diablo and Blizzard hated Godzilla, for opposing them, making them feel weak, and for putting them through so much anguish. The dread tyrannosaur wanted him to die for trying to cease his reign of terror and bloodshed. The noble ape was outraged that a former guardian would turn upon his fellow protectors of the planet like such.

But, he did not seek to overshadow Diablo as the world’s cruel king. He had fought his fellow protectors of the world for some reason, not just to slaughter them. The truth was, if Godzilla did kill them both, the world would still survive. Diablo would be remembered as evil incarnate, a specter haunting the collective consciousness of humankind. The lifeforms Blizzard cherished would still survive.

Necrosan’s victory would have no such things as this.

Ceasing his assault of the agonized Godzilla, the god of oblivion gripped his foe, and strained to lift him up. He taunted the two gods, to charge forth and attack him before he drained the life of the alpha and became powerful enough to eradicate them with a twitch.

To his surprise, they did.

Necrosan turned, beginning to siphon the life force of Godzilla, sucking down the essence into his mouth. He was only able to do it for a second before the most benevolent and the most malevolent Draconians tackled him to the ground, dropping Godzilla as they all thrashed and assailed each other.

As this unfolded, the monster king barely clung to consciousness. His iron will was the only thing keeping him going. If this had just been the Draconians, he would have already passed out, but this was beyond them now. They wreaked havoc upon Earth, some threatening to decimate it and recreate it in their twisted images. But Necrosan had no desire for that second part, he would leave it as a mutilated husk.

But no matter what his will commanded, his body was not complying. How could it?

Diablo and Blizzard were tossed off the destroyer’s body, who quickly rose up and carved a chunk out of the latter’s thigh with his tail’s dagger. Diablo’s jaws crunched onto his true enemy’s calf, filling his mouth with the foulest flavor he had ever experienced. But the fiend’s roar of anguish was enough to compel him to keep it up.

Godzilla’s heart began to beat faster and faster, driven by multiple things. Death hung over his head on a fraying string, and when it fell, it would fall upon the whole Earth soon after. He felt something near it, within his nuclear system.

The god of evil’s skull was bashed onto the earth beneath. Necrosan fired a ball of dark energy, forcing a scream of pain out of Diablo. Suddenly, a pillar of ice shot out of the ground beneath the death bringer’s feet, sending chills up his form as Blizzard slammed his fists against his now downed adversary’s back.

Mothra had always stayed with Godzilla, the memories of their time always being fresh on his mind and keeping him from totally succumbing to despair. But, it seemed that they had remained connected all this time through not just the mental, but the energetic. Remnants of the energy she had given him all those years ago, to stop King Ghidorah permanently, had laid dormant. Now, spurned by his all-encompassing desire to save his world, his own body be damned, it was reawakening. A chain reaction began, one beyond that of any other the Earth had seen.

The fierce protector of nature began to rise to his feet, crimson energy beginning to radiate from him. From his wounds, and the gaps between his armor plating, it was like a star was leaking out. His eyes became like burning embers, his opened mouth becoming a portal to the unending power within as it shined.

With a roar of supreme divinity, Burning Godzilla had arrived once more.

The three gods turned, jaws dropping and eyes widening as the avatar of incineration looked towards them. The ape and the theropod ran in opposite directions, leaving Necrosan to watch as the ultimate power of the monster king charged towards him. The sand turned to glass beneath his feet, shattering.

Energy spheres rocketed forth, detonating and doing nothing to stop the encroachment. Wing lightning was treated like the bite of a gnat. Necrosan tore open a portal in front of him, which released a pulse of damaging energy when Godzilla drew near.

The black was evaporated as almost a hundred-thousand tons of burning fury ripped through it, the heat of his aura hurting Necrosan. But not nearly as much as when Godzilla’s foot came down, snapping the god of death’s knee like a twig. The destroyer cried out in agony, falling before the claws of his foe seared into his stomach like heated knives. Necrosan’s mind was overwhelmed, his whole world was pain. Godzilla lifted the destroyer up, watching as the muscle boiled and bone blackened.

And with one snap of his jaws, severed Necrosan’s neck and sent his head falling down. The final coherent thought of the god of oblivion was a wail of mixing anguish, wrath, and sorrow.

Suddenly, the sound of steam being generated rang through the air. Godzilla turned to see Blizzard, alternating between unleashing a stream of frost and trying to generate a pillar of ice beneath his foe. The god of divine destruction looked at his primate foe, the glare making Blizzard shrink back, his breath growing heavy.

The god of nobility roared, asking why his foe would attack and try to kill him. Had he not fought to protect the Urth’s life, to aid the course of evolution? They were on the same side, they fought for the same things, why do this? Godzilla replied with a simple grunt, which would have killed Blizzard if statements could do such a thing.

He had failed, always.

The spines upon the alpha’s back flowed and crackled with scarlet energy, bolts of divine power dancing along them. Blizzard’s hands shot out, trying to protect himself, but it was like attempting to block a train with a medieval shield.

From Godzilla’s mouth came a stream of red death, which banished the darkness of the night for a brief time as it rushed forth. The god of water’s arms were stripped clean of all but bone, which too soon became ash as it traveled further.

The Burning Atomic Ray washed over the chest of the benevolent deity, before soon fading to reveal a blackened, crumbling rib cage and nothing else in its wake. Blizzard’s newfound feelings of inadequacy traveled by his mind to the grave as he fell backward, splitting in half upon impact as his chest shattered into a pile of ash.

Diablo stood as the last god of Urth, this pretender had killed them all like simple commoners. The god of destruction roared into the heavens, waiting for the monster king to make his move.

Godzilla turned towards the fire demon, energy climbing his dorsal spins with a loud thum before releasing a pulse of death. Diablo stood still, laughing as the fire approached, this being was a fool to believe that such an attack would slay him…

Skin and muscle quickly began to peel away, revealing the bone before turning into ash. Diablo’s eyes widened as fear ran through his mind, how was this possible!? He was born of hellfire, and yet this attack would be his downfall. Diablo released one final scream into the sky, one last vengeful claim to this world before perishing.

The void waiting for him this time seemed deeper than it had when he died before...

Godzilla had done it, he had finally succeeded in his mission.

The crimson energy began to disappear, Godzilla tumbled, struggling to keep his balance. The battle with the gods had taken its toll. Light once again began to show, the sun rising over the horizon. He was thankful that at least one more time, he could see the sun. He could feel his healing factor failing by the second, the damage was too much for him. The monster king walked into the sea and began his short journey towards his destroyed home.

The sea felt calm, his mind at peace as he descended towards the ruins of Atlantis. The monster king slamming into the ground, blood filling the sea. He had made it…

He looked upon the skeletal remains of his closest ally. Taking in his last breaths as he closed his eyes, smiling. He had remembered a time long ago when he still had what most beings wanted most...a family. In a valley of great life they sat. Anguirus watching the smaller life forms graze across the meadows, Mothra flying above checking to see if the area was truly secure and Godzilla, the mighty king watched as his kingdom was finally in peace.

He could die knowing that he could finally join those he loved in peace. He took one final breath before taking to his wounds. Though he had perished, the world was once again reminded of the king’s might.

Long live the king.

Holy..... where do I even begin.....
Spoiler:
This is genuinely one of the best KWCE matches I've read so far! Characterizarion is done well for every one, not just Godzilla, but the Primal Rage cast too. The portrayal of the brutal action and teamwork of the PR monsters was well-written too. Each death felt significant, and all the twists and turns made the ending all the more unexpected. And to top it all off, Chaos peeing on Godzilla and Necrosan laughing at Slash Fang's corpse just to be petty are funny mental images.

The ending really brings a sense of finality so well, and it's the perfect bittersweet conclusion. Godzilla wins and finally attains peace; the Primal Rage monsters aren't coming back, but so is he. A brilliant match to end KWCE3 on!

it was supposed to be a There's Nothing Stronger Than Family image, but sorry because I'm new here, I dunno how to upload images properly. Or other things for that matter.

This is certainly one heck of a fight! I like the premise, and while there could've been more fleshing out concerning the past connections between Godzilla and Armadon, this is a really solid ordeal that remains faithful to the characters in question. Great job to both GvR and Bacon for this wonderful capper to KWCE3!

Certainly up there as best KWCE of the year. Loved seeing Godzilla fight for his life fighting all of the "new" gods and see their dynamic with each other was nice. Every combatant was used excellently and I loved Godzilla's characterization in this. Just a king who's lost almost everything, forced back into the fight to defend what's left.

Amazing stuff! Great work!
